Take Me Out - On Tour, Baby!, chapter 1
Katie's POV
Another day, another dollar... well, more like another day, another couple hundred dollars but you get the picture.
Don't look at me that way! I am not a conceited millionaire heirress bitch!
Actually, I'm a millionaire rock star bitch. And might I add, a very smexiful one too.
Aaahh, the sweet smell of... salt water and fish. Well, I guess that's the price i pay for getting this loft apartment right by the bay. No, I'm not telling how much it's worth! Actually, my gorgeous abode (fancy word, hehehe) is really quite cheap. What can I say? Yes, I have money but I don't need a big-ass fancy house for just me and my roommate. Speak of the devil, here she is now. Looking quite tired. . well, she should be. After a night partying at the best punk-rock club ever you should be tired. It would be disrespectful to society to be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed after partying at Gilman Street. My wonderfully kickass band, Sugar Fix, had a gig there last night and we rocked the place senseless. And I might've rocked a few other things but I'm not saying anything about that.
"Coffee?" I ask.
"Urg-yes," Lina answers. (If your stuid, she's my roommate. If you're smart, congrats on figuring that out.)
I pour her some coffee and laugh as she chugs it all down.
"So, have a good time last night?" I ask.
"Yeah, it was the bestest. Are you going on tour anytime soon? 'Cuz you should."
"We're working on it. Me and the guys really want to open for Green Day and since they are thinking of touring, we figured negotiations could be made."
"That would be motherfucking awesome. Could I come?"
"Are you sure? If you're like this after one short show, then i don't think you can last a week on the road."
"ONE SHORT SHOW? IT WAS FUCKING FOUR HOURS LONG!"
"Well, we are a hometown favorite so... " Lina just sighed and poured herself more coffee.
"What are you looking at?" she asked. I looked down at the papers spread across the table, detailing the parts of our hoped-for tour.
"Just some bullshit Reprise sends us." Yes, I am talking about the prestigious Reprise Records, a.k.a. Sugar Fix's label. Just then the phone rang and I ran to get it.
"Hello?"
"Aahh, Katie, this is Larry, from Reprise."
"Oh, hey Larry." (He's our manager)
"Well, don't get too excited but... SUGAR FIX IS GOING ON TOUR WITH GREEN DAY!"
"Wow, thanks Larry!" I couldn't beleive it! Finally, touring with my idols. Yes, I had met them briefly numerous times on red carpets around the world but nothing can beat touring with your idols. Throw in My Chemical Romance and I'd be in heaven.
"But, there are a few complications. See, Reprise just signed a band called The Guilt. They're from England and released an album a little while back."
"Yeah, I remember them. . kinda."
"Well, before they put out another, the executives thought to put them on tour, just to get a bigger U.S. fan base."
"And what has this got to do with our tour?" I got a sinking feeling in my stomach.
"Well, they're coming with you too."
"SHIT!"
"Yeah, I know. It sucks. But they only perform for half an hour, then you take the stage for two, then Green Day for three."
"Fine, but they're not getting The Chateau." That was the nickname for our tour bus. In short words, it was fucking awesome.
"Ha ha, very funny. No, they don't get your precious Chateau."
"Well, I guess I can live with it. But if they try anything, I'm shoving one of Brian's drumsticks up each of their asses."
"Okay, well, you're leaving tomorrow, the bus will come pick you up at seven thirty."
"Okay."
"Okay. Bye, Katie."
"Bye, Larry, thanks a ot again!" I hung up the phone and walked back to the kitchen table.
"Hey Lina, guess what?"
"You got the tour with Green Day but some pansy English band is coming too?"
"Dammit-how did you know?" She held up our cordless phone.
"I was listening in."
"I knew we shouldn't have gotten conference call on that thing."
"Do I get to come?" Well, having LIna made things wilder, that's for certain. But the band would have their own agenda and it'd be hard watching out for Lina too.
"Well, we begin and end on the West Coast (the best coast I might add) so you can come to all our shows here."
"YEAH!" Lina jumped up and down like a little kid. I jumped around with her. I mean, what could possibly happen? I"m going on tour with my two awesome bandmates and my ultimate idols. Nothing could go wrong now...
