Boulevard of Broken Dreams, chapter 10
"Hello Billie," the strange voice said from the shadows.
The voice sounded familiar...IT WAS BOB. When the name registered in my brain, fear overtook me. I began to back up slowly as I turned and began to run. "BANG," the gun hissed as the bullet entered my shoulder, throwing me into the wall next to the door. I closed my eyes; I knew that this time, he was going to finally kill me.
"Billie," I heard Mike scream.
"BANG, BANG," I heard two more rounds fire.
I took a deep breath fearing to turn around, for I knew that one or more of three people was laying injured maybe even dead, behind me. Tears started to flow down my cheeks, maybe because of the pain in my left shoulder, or maybe because of Mike possibly being hurt. I'm not quite sure, but I was crying. I felt a hand grab my shoulder, and my heart skipped about 10 beats.
"Was it Mike, or Bob?" I asked myself.
"Billie."
"Oh my god, Mike are you ok," I said as I turned around to see Mike standing behind me with a painful glare on his face.
"Yeah, I think so."
Bob was lying motionless on the floor, and a puddle of blood forming around his body.
"Don't worry about him," Mike said, "I don't think he'll be waking up.
"Mike, are you sure your ok," the color was draining from his face, and it was getting harder for him to stand.
He didn't answer, something was defiantly wrong with him. "Was he shot?"
He was sweating and very pale, when his eyes rolled back into his head, and he slid to the floor.
"Mike, I screamed, "can you hear me."
There was no response only him lying there, I gazed down his stomach, which was covered with a white muscle shirt, then I saw, it. It was a red spot, growing larger, with each beat of his heart.
"TRE'," I began screaming to the top of my lungs, "Oh my god he's been shot."
In my mind the pain in my shoulder was becoming worse by the minute, but Mike was the most important thing in my head. A feeling of wet blood running down my spine, covering my back was all I felt. I heard footsteps as Tre' came running in. "Oh my god, Mike...Billie what happened"
"It was Bob, and Mike isn't the only one he got," I said pointing at my shoulder.
He gasped, "We got to get you two the hospital now."
We both picked up Mike, Tre bearing more weight than me. I could only use my right arm, but I was helping some.
