Wishing Pond (sequel to 1,000 Hours), chapter 4
''God damn isn't there a hospital anywhere around here? '' Mike asked.
''I don't know. '' I said as I made a U-turn.
''Where are you going? '' He asked.
''Back to Oakland. ''
''Why? ''
''Because we might as well go back there or else we'll be driving around for that long! ''
Once we got to the hospital in Oakland, I parked and opened Mike's door. He got out, holding Nikky and Billie pulled up beside us and we went into the ER. Once we got in, we walked up to the counter and the guy behind it asked,
''May I help you? ''
''Uh yeah isn't it a little obvious?! '' Mike said, nodding at Nikky.

''But sir i'm sorry the doctor is busy right now. '' Mike handed Nikky over to me and he leaned over the counter and held up the guy by his shirt and got right in his face and said, ''I'm going to count to five and you better have had a doctor or somebody come down here and get her. 1. 2. -''
''Okay okay i'll get somebody don't hurt me please. '' Mike set the guy down, staring at him with a mean look and the guy dialed a number on the phone. A couple minutes later, a nurse came with a bed and I layed Nikky down on it. She went to take her away, but I followed and asked,
''Wait can I come? ''
''No, sir you can't i'm afraid. ''
''Why not? ''
''Just rules. ''
I stopped and watched her go into the elevator and when she pulled the bed around, I waved at Nikky and said,
''I love you. ''
She gave me a weak smile and said,
''Love you too. ''
Then the elevator doors closed. I walked back to the waiting room and sat down next to Mike and Billie.
*Hours Later*
I walked up to the counter and asked the guy,
''Excuse me but can we go back there now? ''
''Hold on a second please. ''
He then dialed on the phone again and I waited. When he hung up, I said,
''So? ''
''Only one person can go. ''
I sighed and walked back over. I sat down and said,
''Only one person can go up there. ''
Mike and Billie looked at each other and I said,
''I don't mind who goes up there. ''
''I'll go. '' Said Billie. I nodded and he went away. An hour or so later, he came back, with tears in his eyes.
''What's up? '' Mike asked.
''She told me everything that happened. It was really scary. She wouldn't tell me this one thing though. But apparently that guy... '' Then he told us everything that he did to her, but in a quieter voice so no one else would hear. Once he was done, I was crying, and Mike was about to.
''And she wants to see you Tre. '' He said. So I nodded and got up and walked up to her room. Once I got there, I quietly knocked and I could hear her say,
''Come in. ''
So I opened the door and walked in. She had been crying. A lot. I sat in the chair by the bed and said,
''So... What did you wanna talk 'bout? ''
She sighed and said,
''Tre... ''
OOOHHHHH! Cliffhanger! Hehe.
''I don't know. '' I said as I made a U-turn.
