Wishing Pond (sequel to 1,000 Hours), chapter 6
''Nikky?'' Tre barely whispered.
''What?'' I said with about the same volume.
''Do you forgive me?''
''Of course I do.....I love you.''
''I love you too. Don't you ever forget that. I'll always be here for you. No matter what.''
''Ditto.''
He smiled and pecked a kiss on my lips. Just then, a nurse came in and said,
''I'm sorry sir but visiting hours are over.''
''But.....isn't there like a thing where one person can stay?''
''Well, there is. Are you family of hers?''
''No, I'm her boyfriend.''
''I'm sorry but only family can stay. I'll be back in five minutes.'' she walked out.
''So?'' I asked.
''I got an idea! Okay how's about Mike stays and you can say he's your brother?''
''Okay I guess.''
''Mkay Mike will be here soon.'' He kissed my hand and went out. A couple minutes later, Mike came through the door.
''Hey.'' He said.
*Mike's POV*
She looked really bad. Her bouncy hair wasn't so bouncy right now, it was just flat and tangled a little. The bruises all over her were as purple as her hair and blue as her eyes, not bright but a greyish blue.
''Hey.'' She said really quietly back. I sat on a chair and we talked. She told me what all had happened, it was different from when Billie told us, it was from her point of view, no detail left behind. I was almost crying by now and she was in tears. Just then, the nurse came in and checked some papers, but just then the heart monitor stopped beeping. I gasped and cried, holding her lifeless hand and hugging her lifeless body. I just witnessed her death.............and the twins that were never born.
