As I went to knock on the door Tre opened up with his puppy dog eyes and a straight face. I could tell he didn't wanna do this.
"Hey Jan, you wanna come in?" he asked. He must have wanted to tell me inside from the public.
He led me into the living room. Had I passed the point of no return? I looked him in his eyes they seemed to be clouded over and not the same earth shattering blue I once looked into when we first met.
"Lacy shown me the text Jimmy sent her. It said you have made your decision cause I can't stand this feeling any more Tre. It's tearing me apart," I said while breaking down in tears.
I fell on to my knees and placed my head on my thighs and then suddenly I felt Tre's arms around my shoulders while his soothing voice said.
"Jan I'm so sorry I have had to put all this pain onto you. I never meant for this to happen" he said as his voice got a little high-pitched trying to hold back his own tears.
I calmed down after I heard him apologize. I had realised he had made his decision. I looked up at him and seen that he was looking away from me.
"So I take this is a goodbye" I said as tears were once again swelling in my eyes. I knew he loved Frankito and Ramona so I guess he wanted Frankito to have the family he needed.
"Jan I'm so sorry I only hope you can forgive me," he said with sympathy in his voice.
"I understand but Tre... What has Claudia got that I haven't?" I asked him with no more tears to cry. He just looked at the picture of when Frankito was born and Tre was holding him as a proud father and by the side a family portrait of the Wright family playing happy family. Frank was in the middle and Tre and Claudia were kissing either side of Frankito's face
"You see if I leave Frank then I'm gonna lose him as a son and as a friend" he said.
I looked at Tre he looked at me as if to say "is it okay if I gave you a final kiss goodbye".
I looked away and whispered "I hope you happy with your new life. I'll miss you" Tre came behind me and turned me around so I was facing him. He gave me a final kiss on the lips. And with that I was out the door and back to where I was.
Alone and nobody to love.
I walked back home and seen a picture of me, Tre, Lacy, Jimmy Mike and Billie Joe all together. Smiling.
The wounds were reopened and so where the tears.
I had lost the one thing that made me happy. Tre Cool.
