Walking up to the restaurant with Trè, I kept thinking how I would tell them all that we were going to be married and be expecting a child. I stood still and contemplated about the pregnancy... What if I wasn't maybe the test was wrong. "Jan you ok?" Trè asked with a concerned tone in his voice. I just shook off the contemplation I was under and looked at my future husband with doubt.
"Don't tell them all that I'm pregnant just yet hunny. I wanna go the doctors tomorrow just in case I'm not... That ok with you?" I asked him with the doubt still swimming around in my mind. He looked me square in the eyes and pulled me in for a hug. He simply kissed my forehead and agreed not to say anything about the baby. Man was I in love with this person.
We walked in to find Billie, Adrienne, Joey and Jakob sitting talking with Mike and a new face. Must have been his new girlfriend. Trè gave a simple wave to Joey and the young Billie Joe look alike tapped his dad's shoulder to let them know we had arrived. "Dude what took you so long... You two crazy monkeys didn't you know... get up to any trouble on the way here?" Billie said as he came over to greet us. Trè quickly covered up my hand with my engagement ring on so he could surprise the whole party.
"Nah. Janet couldn't decide if she wanted a bath or a shower," he said joking around laughing with Billie. I smiled and nudged Trè to let him know one out of three people thought it was not that funny.
"Well anywho take a seat and we'll get started on eating," replied to the comment. I looked over to Adrienne and smiled. She smiled and looked at me with suspicion. Could she tell something was happening?
The meal was brilliant. I found out the young lady was called Jennifer and she had moved from Chicago three years ago and met Mike at a Starbucks. I knew it would have to involve coffee. As everyone was sitting and laughing at jokes being swapped around the table Trè stood up and cleared his throat. "Can I have everyone's attention I have something to say... Well Janet and me have something to say. Babe could you join me for a second" I stood up and held Trè's hand still not revealing the ring.
"This year has brought laughter and tears for me and Janet and well I think that the next couple of years will be amazing as...Janet has agreed to become Mrs. Frank Edwin Wright the third" With saying that Trè removed his hand away from my hands to show them the entire ring that was placed on my finger. The whole table was is shock. A quick second passed then Mike piped up.
"Dude that is brilliant congrats to the both of you. Everyone to Trè and Janet" Mike said as he raised his glass up
"To Trè and Janet" everyone cheered as they raised their glasses. I smiled and kissed Trè as I got applause from the table. I liked this feeling of acceptance. I had been accepted into the Green Day family. Now the next thing to do was call up the doctors.
