Vampires Will Never Hurt You., chapter 3
I slowly lifted my head up. the pain had gone. I pulled my knees up to my chest and sat like that for a while.
"Hello, are you still here?" it was Tre outside the door.
"Yes, I think I am," I said, trying to hold back the tears that kept forming.
"Am I allowed to come in?" he asked.
Oh God. What should I say to that? If I let him in I would probably kill him, like I killed many before.
"I said I'll be out in a minute," I called back, hoping that he would go away.
"Sophia, that was half an hour ago,"
It was? I thought I had only been up here for a few minutes. I looked over to the window, the rain was still trickling down, but the thunder and lighting had stopped.
"Well, I should be out in a minute. I'm fine don't worry," I shouted to the door.
"Err, okay then," Tre sounded unsure about whether or not her should believe me, but he left all the same.
I slowly and shakily stood and walked to the mirror. I could see the trace of an outline appearing were my reflection should be. Just a while longer and I would be alright to go downstairs.
I tiptoed out of my room and quietly made my way down stairs. I stopped before I got to the living room because I heard voices.
"She's really weird," I heard one of them say. I couldn't make out who the voices belonged to properly.
"I know, I wonder what's wrong," said another.
"It's like she's scared to be around people," Well, that was right. I'm scared to be around people at night. Who knows what I'd do to them. Some night's I would be perfectly fine. but then others, I wouldn't.
"I saw a bloodstain on the carpet earlier. I wonder where that was from," oh no, they'd seen it. Now they were going to think that I'm some psycho murderer or something. Well, I guess I was in a way.
I took a deep breath before entering the room.
"Everything alright boys?" I asked as cheerily as I possibly could. The one with black hair, Billie Joe, looked petrified.
"Billie Joe are you alright?" I asked him.
It was then when I remembered the large mirror hanging on the wall behind me.
My eyes widened and I turned around. Most of my reflection had returned, but it still looked transparent.
"Sophia, what's the matter?" asked Mike as I turned around.
"Oh nothing," I lied, yet again. "Is your friend Billie alright?" I asked, feeling a little concerned.
Uh, I don't know, he's hardly ever like this," Mike replied, sounding confused.
I knew I had heard Mike's voice somewhere before.
"Mike, I'm sorry, but have I met you before?" I asked, curiosity taking over me.
"Are you sure you haven't seen him on the TV?" Tre asked, grinning.
"What?" I asked felling confused, "Are you guys famous or something?"
Tre grinned and nodded. "We in a band, you know, it's called Green Day,"
"I think I remember you a bit, but I haven't watched the TV in years," I said trying to rack my brains. "But I seem to remember Mike more,"
I saw Mike biting his lip. I got a quick flashback of the man stood in the doorway when he has killed my parents but I didn't think anything of it. I would occasionally get flashes of that night for no reason.
Billie Joe was still really pale. I sat down next to him. He turned his petrified eyes towards me and budged away a bit.
"Stay away from me," he said and then he moved over to a chair and sat there instead.
"Excuse me?" I said, looking hurt.
"I said stay away from me you freak!"
I looked at Mike and Tre, they both looked confused. "Billie, shut up or she'll kick us out!" Tre said. Mike was still biting his lip as if he was thinking about something.
"She wouldn't kick us out though, she wants us to stay!" Billie Joe shouted, cowering away from me in the armchair.
"Well, I don't mind if you stay or not, but it is raining outside and there is nowhere else for miles," I said, watching Billie.
Billie Joe just scowled. I caught sight of the clock. It was two o'clock, good, I was normal again.
"Well, would you like somewhere to spend the night?" I asked them.
"Yes please, that would be nice," Mike grinned.
"Ok, well I'll show you to the spare bedroom, there is only that one spare room and there is only one double bed in it," I said, leading them up the stairs.
"Well, I'll sleep in your room then," Tre grinned.
Mike just rolled his eyes and Billie started talking immediately, "Look, Tre, I know you want to get laid, but I'm not letting either of you spend the night in the same room as her!"
"Why, what's wrong with me?" I asked, fearing that he somehow knew my secret.
"Oh, I think you know,"
"No I don't do tell," I said, staring into his eyes.
he whimpered a little and muttered something along the lines of "never mind" before the three of them disappeared into my parents old room.
I sighed as they shut the door and returned to my own room. I could be quite scary sometimes. I'm just hoping my eyes didn't turn red or white when I was trying to make Billie be quiet.
I sunk down on my bed and fell to sleep, hoping that the storm would be over by morning and that they would be able to call a mechanic first thing.
