Family Man, chapter 11
*The Next Day*
Katie awoke to her cell phone ringing. It was Erika. "Hello?" Kaite asked grogily.
"Hey doll face." Erika replied, "Whats up?"
"Im at home. I was sleeping."
"Sleeping! Its likes 2 in the afternoon!" Erika exclaimed."Please, Erika, don't yell. I was up past 5 in the morning talking to dad, mom Mike and Tre. Hell, Mike and Tre ended up sleeping here. Same with Estelle, Ramona, and Frankito."
"Oh, Why? What happened?"
"I'll tell you later. It has to do with Matt."
"No. Come on Katie, im like your best friend, i deserve to know don't I?" Erika said.
"Ok. Come over then. And don't be slow."
"I'll be right over." Erika said.
Katie hung up the phone and walked out of her room. She was still wearing her Kerplunk t-shirt and her black jeans, but her hair was all messy. Tre pretened to scream when Katie came down the stairs. Katie just stuck the middle finger up to him. They all laughed.
"How was your sleep hon?" asked Adrienne.
"Meh. It would have been better if Erika didn't call." Katie replied.
"Is she coming over?"
"Yeah. She'll be here shortly. Im going to go take a shower." Katie replied as she walked back up the stairs.
*An Hour Later* Katie heard the doorbell ring and her mother open it. Talking coming from downstaris, and then someone walking up the stairs. Erika knocked on Katies bedroom door, "Helloooooo?"
"Yo. Im in here. Come on in." Katie replied.
The door opened and Katie dropped her jaw at the site of Erika. She cut her hair. Erikas hair used to be down to her waist and now it was almost as long as Katies, whos was down to her shoulders.
"Do you like it?" Erika asked nervously.
"I fucking love it!" Katie exclaimed. She hugged her best friend.
Erika sat on the bed, "Ok, why have you been such a hermit lately?" She asked
Katie explained what Matt had done. Erika was wide eyed and her mouth was hanging open after she told her all of yesterdays events.
"Yeah. It was bad. Now were waiting for the police to call back, so we'll know when the trial is." Katie finnished
"Wow, im so sorry if i sounded kinda rude on the phone. I was just worried." Erika said shamefully.
"No, Erika, i know what you mean, its ok chicka." Katie replied.
Erika looked at her watch, "Oh shit i was supposed to be home 10 mins ago. I'll call you later ok."
"Sure."
Katie and Erika walked down the stairs and Erika left. Katie sat in the living room with her family and friends, "You know what?" Billie Joe asked to Mike and Tre, "You guys should move in. It'd be alot safer."
"You know what Billie Joe, that might have to be the best idea you've ever had." Mike said.
"I think I have to agree with Mike." Tre replied.
"Mhmm." Billie Joe said, acting proudly. "So when do you want me to get your rooms ready. You know of course i have enough rooms for Estelle, Ramona, and Frankito too."
"Maybe next week. Im kinda busy this week." Mike said.
Just then the phone rang. Billie Joe picked it up, "Hello?... Yes this is Billie Joe Armstrong. Why?... Ok... Sure... No problem.. When?... Alright, thanks... Bye now..." Billie Joe hung up the phone, "That was the police station, the court apperance is on October 3rd."
"Yes!" Katie exclaimed. 'Im so happy that fuckers going to getr what he deserves. I hope he rots in hell."
Adrienne laughed, "Im going to go fix uas all some lunch. Billie Joe can you please go get the kids?"
"KIDDIES. ITS LUNCH TIME!!" Billie Joe yelled up the stairs.
"God damnit Billie Joe!" Yelled Adriene. "Even i can do that." Billie Joe laughed.
Just then, 5 kids came barreling down the stairs, and and unsuspecting Billie JOe was waiting at the bottom,. Suddenly he felt this rush of air go past him. Joey jumped into his fathers arms., "Hey champ!" Billie Joe said.
"Daddy, Im hungry, please let me go." Joey said as he squirmed out of his fathers arms. Billie Joe let go and his son ran off for the kitchen tabel.
Katie laughed, "Im going to go out for a walk, i'll see you guys later."
"Ok, just don't be to long." Adrienne said.
