Family Man, chapter 15
Adrienne walked to Joeys room and shook im awake, "hey honny, time to wake up."
Joey looked up at his mother, "ok mommy, is Katie home yet?"
"yes baby, shes in her room sleeping." Adrienne walked to the closet and got some clothes for Joey, "Ok, get dressed and go wake your brother up please."
"Ok mom" Joey replied as he got out of bed and took the clothes from his mother.
Adrienne walked out of the bedroom and down the stairs as she heard a knock at the door. It was Mike. He opened the door and walked in, "Hey 80, whats up?"
"Oh, hey Mike. Not much, just making some breakfast. Want anything?" Adrienne replied.
"Sure."
"Alright. Hey babe." Adrienne said as Billie Joe came down the stairs and into teh kitchen.
"Hey sexy." Billie replied.
"Why thank you Billie. But my door don't swing that way." Mike said, laughing.
Billie stuck his tounge out at Mike and laughed.
Adrienne reached under the cupboard and grabbed a frying pan, "Are pancakes ok?"
"Sounds fine to me." Billie said.
Tre came down the stairs, holding his head, "Oh dude. My head is killing me."
Mike walked up behind Tre and yelled in his ear, "TO FUCKING BAD!!"
Tre turned around and punched Mike in the arm, "Shut...the..fuck...up!"
Mike walked into the living room, laughing and rubbing his arm. Billie laughed and followed Mike.
"do you care if i shower here?" Tre asked Adrienne.
"No. Go ahead Tre." she replied.
Tre left the room and glared at Mike, who started laughing again, and went up the stairs tot he bathroom.
Adrienne mixed the pancake batter then suddenly felt someone on her back. she looked down and saw her two sons looking up at her, "hi boys."
"Mommy..." Joey said, in his most innocent voice.
"Yes baby?"
"Can i have some eggs for breakfast? i don't like pancakes."
"Joey, you love pancakes." Adrienne replied, not taking her eyes off the pancake that was now sizzling int he pan.
"Please mommy?"
"Joey, no. You'll eat what your given. Daddy spoild you to much."
Billie looked up from teh living room, "I do not!"
"Oh babe, im just teasing." Adrienne replied, "But you'll eat your pancakes Joey, or you'll go without."
Joey pouted and went to the living room, where Billie turned the chanell to cartoons.
Katie came down the stairs in her robe and yawned, "Hi everyone. wheres Tre at?"
"Hes in the shower." Mike replied.
"oh. Mom, do we have any advil, or anything?" Katie said.
"Yes, in the cupboard above the stove." Her mother replied.
Katie rummaged through the cabinet and grabbed the advil and a glass of water.
Tre came down the stairs and went to the kitchen and wrapped his arms around Katies waist, "Good morning beautiful."
Katie giggled and kissed Tre on the cheek.
Adrienne flipped the pancakes in the pan.
The phone rang and Billie picked it up, "Hello?.... Yes, this is Billie Joe Armstrong...... Ok........ Thank you..... Bye now" Billie hung up the phone.
"Who was that?" Adrienne asked
"that was the court, reminding us that the court apperance is tomorrow."
"Oh great" Katie muttered.
"Katie, they want you there, to make a statement" Billie told his daughter.
"i really don't want to go dad. I mean i REALLY dont want to go."
"I know, but you have to. You'll only have to see him one more time, then hes off to jail. I promise."
Katie smiled at the thought of sending Matt to jail, "Its what he fuc.. opps Fricking deserves"
Billie looked at Katie. He hated it when people swore in front of his kids.
Adrienne placed the plate of pancakes on the table, "ok, come eat."
Everyoe sat down and dug in to the pancakes, "Adrienne, i love your cooking." Billie said, his mouth full of pancake.
**The Next Day**
Adrienne tryed to pour the orange juice without spilling it all over the place, "God damnit." Adrienne put the juice jug on the counter, "for get it. Everyone can pour their own juice.
The door bell rang. Billie answered it. Mike and Tre walked in. They were dressed in their best Green Day clothes. Black dress pantsw and jackets. mike wearing a red tie and Tre wearing a white tie. Billie was also wearing black dress pants and a black jacket. But his tie was black. Adrienne was wearing a black dress. They were all ready to go to the courts. katie still wasn'y down from her room. Joey and Jakob were at their grandmas house.
"Hey dude, wheres Katie?" Tre asked.
"Shes in her room, still gettign ready. You want anything to eat, drink.. drugs to help you relax?" Billie asked
Adrienne hit Billie on the arm, "No drugs."
"i know.. i know. Im kidding."
"No thanks man. im kinda worried about Katie and this whole court apperance thing." Tre replied
"You and me both Tre." Adrienne replied. She offered some orange juice to Mike, who took it and drank it all in one breath.
Katie finally came down the stairs wearing a dark purple dress. Tre looked up and her and smiled. Katie smiled back then frowned, "I really don't want to go."
"i know honny, but you have to make a statement." Adrienne replied as she put her arm around her daughter, "Now, are we ready to go?"
Katie nodded. Adrienne led Katie out of the door and to the car. Billie, Mike and Tre all followed. Billie got intot he drivers seat and Adrienne into the passanger seat. Mike Katie and Tre all sat int he back. Billie pulled out of the driveway and onto the raod.
