Family Man, chapter 5
After supper, Katie and Matt went up to his room. They sat around and talked for a while before Katie had to leave.
*One Hour Ago, At The Armstrong House*
Ok, lets go you guys, Called Adrienne up the stairs. Joey ran down the stairs and into his mothers arms, with Jakob close behind.
Billie Joe walked down the stairs and wrapped arms around Adrienne, and kissed her softly on the cheek, "Ready" he asked.
"Yeah, lets go." She replied.
They all walked out foot he house and drove to the restaurant.
They went to "Chez Fancy pants" the famous french restaurant. Joey walked in and sniffed the air, he instantly grabbed his face and made fake chocking noises, all of the people were looking at him as he was laying on the floor pretending to choke. Adrienne grabbed Joey and picked him up, trying not laugh and give Joey trouble. A snooty looking waiter walked over and showed them to their seats. Billie Joe and Jakob were still laughing at Joey as Adrienne gave him a lecture about being polite. Thy all ordered and got their food. Billie Joe ordered a regular hamburger for the kids and split it for them. Billie Joe ordered the la carte , snails, and gave one to each Joey and Jakob. after they ate it the decided to stick to their hamburgers. Adrienne ordered some calamari, squid. Joey pretended to be scared that it was going to attack him and hid under the table.
*Katie*
Katie walked home 20 city blocks and opened the door to her house. she smelt something that she hadn't smelt in about 2 hours, cleanliness. She walked to the bathroom and had a shower. She put on her Green Day burnt CD and listened to her dads voice as it filled her room. She picked up her guitar and started strumming along to the music. She heard the front door open and heard her mothers and fathers voice, "Do you think she's home yet?" Asked Adrienne.
"Well she knows not to stay out this late on a school night." said Billie Joe.
Katie emerged from her room, "I'm home." and she walked down the stairs.
"How was supper at your friends place?" Asked Adrienne.
"Disgusting, his.. I mean their mom smokes so there were ashes in the food."
"Oh, so Mike was right, you do have a boyfriend." Billie Joe said accusingly.
"Yeah but not for long. I just don't know how to break it off with him." Katie replied. She told her parents about Matt's house, and how there was not a floor to be seen, just clothes and potato chip bags.
"That is the most disgusting things I have ever heard." Adrienne said with a disgusted look on her face.
"You didn't have to walk around in it." Katie said. Just then they heard the song Minority blasting out of Katie's room, "JOEY I SWEAR TO GOD IM GOING TO KILL YOU IF YOU DONT STAY OUT OF MY ROOM YOU LITTLE TURD!!!!!" Katie ran up the stair and turned her stereo off. She peaked her head around the corner, "I'm going to bed now, g'night"
"Night doll" Said her mom.
