80 (Adie Please Keep Taking Me Away), chapter 6
Mike read Billie Joe's song.
"Amazing once again. Is it about Adrienne from last night?" asked Mike.
"Yes." said Billie Joe who was still in a daze about Adrienne.
"Your really crazy about aren't you?" said Mike.
"Yes, she's just so amazing I feel like I've know her forever even though I just met her. It's kind of confusing." said Billie Joe.
"Well I hope it all work's out, from last night she seem's awesome so I think you should go for it." said Mike.
"Don't worry I am." said Billie Joe.
"I think we should try to write 2 more songs." said Mike "Let's see Tre has Dominated Love Slave, Um we have One for Razorbacks, Who Wrote Houlden Caulfield, One Of My lies, Christie Road, Welcome to Paradise, Private Ale, Android, Words I might have ate, Strange land, Best thing in town. I think we should put "Sweet Children" on there." said Mike looking at Billie Joe.
"Ya sure." said Billie Joe.
"I think we should do a cover song." said Tre
"By Who?" asked Mike and Billie Joe.
It's not by who its "The Who." said Tre
"Nice." said Billie Joe.
"What song?" asked Mike.
"My Generation." said Tre.
"What do you think Billie?" asked Mike.
"Ya I think we should." said Billie Joe as they were getting close to were there next gig was at. Right when they got there Billie Joe went to find a pay phone he had to, he had to talk to Adrienne.
Finally about an hour after searching all over some little town that Billie Joe had never heard of he found a pay phone. Some dude was on it.
"Come on." said Billie Joe getting really impatient. The guy was just taking his time.
"Punk hold on." said the guy.
"I've been waiting for 30 fucking minutes for you!" said Billie Joe.
"What punk." said the guy.
"I SAID I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU OR NOW AN HOUR AND 1 MINUTE ARE YOU FUCKING DEAF!" said Billie Joe.
The guy put up a fist at Billie Joe like he was going to punch him.
"Derek stop." said a girl running up to him.
"Sorry he is kind of pissed off, you can use the phone." said the girl taking the phone out of his hands and hanging it up.
"Bitch why did you do that?!" said Derek.
"Because we need to go." she said dragging Derek away.
"You better watch yourself punk." said Derek getting all up in his face.
"Whatever." mumbled Billie Joe putting his money in the pay phone and taking out Adrienne's phone number. He dialed the number and waited for an answer. No one answered but he got the answering machine. He heard Adrienne's voice. It was the best voice he had heard he wished that it was a never ending recording.
"Hi Adrienne it's Billie Joe from last night, um I'm calling you like I said I would. I want see you again. Um I'll try you again later. I know I said I was going to call after the show, but well I had some extra time." said Billie Joe saying good Bye and hanging up the phone. He called her number again he just wanted to hear her voice. He called Adrienne's phone 5 times. When he did it the 6th time someone picked up.
"Hello." said Adrienne.
"Hi, Adrienne its Billie Joe." said Billie Joe.
"Billie Joe, sorry I was just listening to your message sorry I just got back from some of my classes. How are you?" she asked.
"I'm good. How about you?" asked Billie Joe.
"I'm good. So where are you guys performing?" asked Adrienne
" I don't know we're in some small town, the people are just lovely too." said Billie Joe sarcastically.
"Oh really what happened?" asked Adrienne laughing
"Some ass hole was taking forever on the phone." said Billie Joe
"I see." said Adrienne.
"So Adrienne I want to see you again." said Billie Joe.
"I want to see you again too." said Adrienne.
"Where could we meet up again?" said Billie Joe.
"I don't know tomorrow's Saturday so I don't have any classes." said Adrienne.
"I don't think we have a show until Monday." said Billie Joe "I can be kind of flexible where we meet since we have the van so ya." said Billie Joe.
"Oh I see a sign we're in Buck man." said Billie Joe.
"Okay I know where that is why don't we meet in-" Adrienne was cut off by an operator.
"Please deposit 25 cents." said the operator.
"Adrienne hold on I have to put in 25 cents." said Billie Joe reaching in his pocket for change.
"Shit no." said Billie Joe searching everywhere for a quarter. He used all his change calling Adrienne over and over again.
"Adrienne I don't have any cent's I'll call you later, but-" Billie Joe was cut off by the operator saying that he was out of time.
"God Damn fucking operator." said Billie Joe.
"Are you done?" asked a guy behind him.
"Ya obviously I'm not on the phone anymore." said Billie Joe walking away.
Now all he had to do was find out how to get back to where there show was.
