80 (Adie Please Keep Taking Me Away), chapter 9
"When did you get up and come back to reality?" asked Billie Joe.
"A while ago I just wanted you guys to let me sleep." said Tre laughing.
"So did you what wa going on when we carried you out into the car?" asked Mike.
"Well not at first, but Billie Joe hit my head against a wall so it kind of woke me up." said Tre.
"So you fucking made us carry you out there when you could have done it your self?" asked Mike adn Billie Joe.
"Ya I just didn't want to walk." said Tre laughing.
"Your an ass hole you know that." said Mike.
Mike and Tre dropped Billie Joe off at the Star Bucks. Billie Joe walked in, but didn't see Adrienne there.
"Oh shit did she forget or stood me up?" thought Billie Joe. Billie Joe ordered two cups of coffee just in case and sat down at a table. He sat there for a few minutes.
"Please just be running late or something." Billie Joe said to himself shutting his eyes.
"Billie Joe, I'm so sorry I kind of over slept." said Adrienne sitting down.
"That's okay." said Billie Joe.
"Here I got you a cup of coffee since that's the only thing that I know so far that you like to drink at a Star Bucks." said Billie Joe.
"Thanks." said Adrienne smiling at him "I didn't keep you waiting to long did I?"
"No, not at all." said Billie Joe.
"You know what your name sounds like?" said Billie Joe.
"What." asked Adrienne.
"It sounds like the number 80." said Billie Joe.
"Hm I never thought of that know one has ever told me that, but I like it." said Adrienne.
"That's going to be my nickname for you Adie." said Billie Joe.
"Good I like it." said Adrienne smiling. There was that smile again that Billie Joe loved to look at, it just made everything that was wrong go right.
"So what do you want to do today?" asked Adie.
"I don't know you know this town better than me." said Billie Joe.
"True." said Adie.
"Do you want to go down by the lake or something I guess." said Adie.
"Ya, sure." said Billie Joe.
Billie Joe and Adrienne once again left Star Bucks hand in hand.
"So how is school going." asked Billie Joe trying to start conversation.
"Good, I graduate this year." said Adrienne.
"That's good." said Billie Joe.
"So how long have you guys been on tour?" asked Adrienne.
"About 2 months." said Billie Joe.
"That cool." said Adrienne.
"I remember the first tour we did we left the day after Mike graduated." said Billie Joe.
"Oh is Mike older than you?" asked Adrienne.
"No I dropped out in the middle of my senior year." said Billie Joe " and Tre our drummer dropped out in his sophomore year, but went back and got his GED."
"I see, well your really dedicated to your music." said Adrienne "Which I think is awesome." Billie Joe was so relieved to hear Adie say that.
"Ya, that's why I dropped out to dedicate myself to Sweet Children, well that was our old name now it's Green Day, but ya." said Billie Joe.
"What's Green Day mean?"asked Adrienne.
"It's about smoking weed all day, it's a song I wrote when I was stoned one time." said Billie Joe.
"Nice." said Adrienne laughing.
They finally reached the Lake. Billie Joe and Adrienne walked around talking about everything. Billie Joe told her how his dad had died of cancer when he was 10, and how his mom married a guy that Billie Joe and his siblings did not like. Adrienne told him stuff about her childhood as well.
