This is Big Brother. We have a superstar guest., chapter 2
"OH MY GOD!"
The first words they heard from their housemates mouths and they already never wanted to hear them speak again.
"Hey there, I'm Tre Cool. I'll be here for the next 10 weeks and will be leaving here richer than I've ever been before. And you are?" Billie Joe and Mike rolled their eyes. Tre Cool was in the building and there was no escape.
"Er...Hi," The poor girl looked terrified.
"SHould we go and help her out?" Mike leaned towards Billie Joe, speaking into his ear
"Nah! Leave 'em to it, if nothing else it will be entertainment..."
"You really do have a sadistic streak Mr Armstrong, drink?"
"Sounds good." As the two moved across the room they were practically jumped on by another couple of housemates.
"OH MY GOD! ITS GREEN DAY! WE'RE IN A HOUSE WITH GREEN DAY FOR AT LEAST A WEEK! HOW COOL!"
"Does anyone in here actually speak normally?" Mike was back in pissed off mood.
"I don't think so."
"I LOVED YOUR ALBUM! AMERICAN IDIOT! ARE YOU GOING TO RELEASE YOUR SECOND ALBUM SOON?"
"yeah," Mike was practically speaking into his glass, "Something like that..."
The next five hours seemed to be spent avoiding the rest of the housemates, sat in a corner with a bottle of beer each, making conversation between themselves. Eventually, Big Brother announced that they could get their luggage, unpack and go and explore the garden if they wanted to. Billie Joe and Mike couldn't have moved any faster if they'd have had rocket packs...
"Thank god for that!" Billie Joe had gone straight for the cigarettes he had put on the top of his suitcase and was now leaning against the corner of a fence taking a drag.
"How long have we got left of your stupid bet?" Mike really didn't want to be there.
"9 weeks and 6 days? We'll manage..." Billie Joe didn't sound convinced at all.
"Maybe it'll be better after some sleep..."
"And I can't turn my back//it's too late//ready or not at all//Well I'm so much closer than I have ever known//Wake up!"
The sound of Billie Joe's voice filled the house as the lights sprang into life and the whole place was forced into life again.
"Ah! Funny. So funny." Billie Joe went to roll over and hide himself back under the covers, instead hitting the floor and ending up buried under a pile of cotton.
"Shut the fuck up Billie - stop bloody singing." Mike pulled his pillow over his head.
"I'm not singing, they're playing it." Came a muffled reply from under Billie Joe's duvet.
"I'm going to get some coffee."
Five minutes later and Mike was in the diary room.
"Good Morning Mike." Big Brother was completely calm.
"Morning." Mike wasn't.
"And how are you this morning?"
"I'd be better if I had some coffee."
"And how are you getting on with the other housemates?" Big Brother was still as calm as ever.
"I dunno, I avoided them as much as possible, they seem complete teenies. Anyway, where's my coffee?"
"Big Brother will get back to you on that one."
"No, don't get back to me, give me some coffee. I need coffee." Mike's voice had risen at least an octave by the end of the sentence.
"Big Brother will get back to you Mike, would you please go and join your housemates in the garden for today's task." Big Brother's voice remained completely calm.
"Fine. But don't think I'll forget." Mike got up and stomped through the door, the sound of him slamming the heavy door echoed through the now empty house.
Mike carried on his stomping until he reached the garden, where all the other 11 housemates were sat on benches along one wall of the house. As he approached Tre and the girl he had made friends with, a hard hat and set of elbow and knee pads that matched the ones everyone else were wearing were thrown at him.
"Why do I want these?"
"You have to wear them, something about health and safety or something." Tre looked a bit confused, speaking as he tried to but his helmet on over his hair without messing it up.
"So, we've set fire to drum kits before now and trashed stages, but we can't climb a ladder without a hard hat?"
"Something like that..."
Tre was interrupted by the sound of Big Brother's still eerily calm voice crackling over the loudspeaker in the garden.
"Housemates, Welcome to your first task. The envelope by the start line will explain everything."
The first words they heard from their housemates mouths and they already never wanted to hear them speak again.
