A Green Day Dream, chapter 2
The kissing went on for about ten/fifteen minutes. I was hoping it would never end. But unfortunately, I looked at my watch, and the bell was about to sound for me to go to my fifth period class.
"Oh no, I have to go!" I said
"Can't you just skip class?"
"No! I've never done that before. And besides, if I did, we wouldn't have any privacy, being as half the school has lunch this period, and they all eat by the lockers."
"You sure seem to know a lot about this period for never having skipped class before," he said in a teasing tone of voice.
"Two years ago, this was my lunch period, smart-one."
"Ok ok, I get it! I guess you'd better go then."
"Well, you can wait about one hour for me can't you?"
"I don't know, what period will that be?"
"The one we were just in."
"Well then I guess I'll wait for you."
"Really?"
"You bet!"
"Great! And I don't have to go for about three more minutes," I said in a hint-hint kind of tone.
"Oh, I see."
He moved closer to me, pinning me to the lockers again. I threw my arms arround him and held him to myself as tightly as I could. We kept kissing and feeling each other. It was like magic, like nothing I had ever experienced before. I thought that it would go on forever, but then, his pants began to ring again.
"Shit," he said as he reached into his pocket to grab his cell.
"Who is it?" I asked in curiosity.
"OH SHIT!!!" he said again, this time like he really meant it.
"What? Who is it?"
"It's Adrienne...." he trailed off.
"Well... I guess you'd better answer it, or she might think you were makin out with a 14 year old at her school," I joked.
"Not funny," he said as he answered the phone.
"I thought it was," I chuckled.
"SHH!!" he hushed me. Then turning to the phone, he answered it, "Hello? Oh, hey babe. How's it goin'? Ahuh... yeah... go on... Oh, ok. I'll be there right away, bye." As he turned off the phone, the bell sounded for me to go to class.
"You don't have to go, do you?"
"Yeah, I do. Sorry about that. Look, Adie cannot find out about this. Do you have any accounts on any fan sites?"
"Yeah, GSB. Why?"
"Shit, Adie loves that one! Look, don't put anything about what happened today on that site, or ANY site. Nothing in the news, OR in your profile, ok?"
"Yeah, sure, but why?"
"Beacause Adie loves that site. She's always reading the news, she sometimes puts some in, and she always reads the profiles to see what people write down about themselves."
"Oh, ok, I get it now." I looked down at my watch, "Oh shit!! I'm almost late!! I'm so sorry, but I have to go."
"Hey wait," he said grabbing my hand, "I know your name is Wendy, but what's your last name?"
I just happened to have my bowling shirt in my pack, "Here, take this. It's my bowling shirt that I wear to tournaments. My name is on the back. This way you can remember my name, and, we'll have an excuse to see each other again."
"Alright, you got a deal."
"Ok, OH SHIT!! Now I REALLY gotta go!!! Goobye Billie Joe!! See you again soon!!!"
I have never been late to a class before in my life, and I would be damned if I was going to be late now. I got to my class and sat my seat right when the bell rang.
"Cutting it a bit close there aren't you Wendy," said my core (english and history) teacher, Ms. Sargent.
"Well, maybe a little."
I listened to my teacher babble for half an hour (luckily 5th and 6th period were short today) and went to 6th period lunch, then back to my 8th period class where my day started. Unfortunately, this was another very long period, and Billie Joe couldn't come like he said he would an hour ago, but luckily, my friend Tessa finally showed up and I was able to talk to her through the rest of the pointless video.
"Well, what did we do today Wendy," Tessa asked me.
"Just watch this stupidly pointless video all day. Oh, and Green Day came in and performed the song "Boulevard of Broken Dreams." Too bad you weren't here."
"Aw man! I can't believe it. When something cool finally happens at our school, I miss it."
"Well don't feel too bad, I had a better time than everyone else because I actually got to do stuff with Billie Joe, you know, the singer."
"I know which one Billie Joe is Wendy. So, what did you do with him anyway?'
Oh no! I just gave her a hint as to what happened with Billie Joe and me. I'm not supposed to tell anyone what happened though. Think of something to save yourself, QUICK! "Oh we talked and went outside, talked some more and..." I trailed off. That was one too many "ands."
"And... What... I mean, it's not like you made out or anything, right?"
"Hehe, right. We just messed around, that's all." Whew! Good save. Or was it? It looked as if she was about to question me again. BEEEEEP! Whew!! saved by the bell! "Well, c-ya guys later," I said to everyone, even though it was Friday, and I wouldn't see them till Monday.
~The next day~
It was now time for me to do my normal weekend routine:
1. Try to sleep in some more
2. Get up when impossible to sleep anymore
3. Eat something (Hopefully cold leftover delivery pizza from the night before)
4. Turn on pc
5. Go to GSB
Just then, the phone rang, and I was the only one in the house, so I picked it up. "Hello?"
"Hi, is Wendy there?" asked an all too familiar voice.
"This is she, who might this be?"
"Woah, I know I write songs for a living, but you don't have to rhyme to me."
"Huh? Who is this?"
"It's me, Billie Joe."
"What?! How did you get my phone number?"
"I looked you up online, but it came up with your dad's phone number. So I called him, and he said you didn't live there anymore. I have to say, your dad sounds a grumpy old man."
"Well, that must have been my grandpa. He lives there too, and my dad is in Vacaville, not at that house right now."
"Oh, that explains it. Well, anyway, he gave me this number and told me to try it, and I finally got you!"
"Wait, is that why you wanted to know my last name?"
"Well, for that reason, and I also wanted to know for the sake of knowing more about you."
"Hey, maybe you shouldn't be calling me from your house."
"Why not?"
"What about Adrienne?"
"Do you really think I'd be dumb enough to call you while she's here?"
"You mean she's not?"
"Of course she isn't here."
"Oh, ok."
"Well anyway, how would you like to come over here to my place?"
"Are you serious?"
"Yeah, I want you to meet Jakob and Joeseph."
"Wait, you want me to meet your KIDS?!"
"Yeah, why not?"
"Well, they might not like me, because, well, I'm not there mom and well, we were makin out."
"Hey, they'll like you! Like I said, they WANT me to date."
"Well, do you really want me to?"
"Hell yeah!"
"Well, ok. My address is," I told him my address, "So you can come pick me up. But you'll have to call me when you get to the gate so I can let you in."
"Alright. Hey, Wendy...?"
"Yeah..."
"Thanks.... I... I'm glad you'be going to come visit me!"
"Hey, I'm glad I'm coming too!"
About an hour later, the phone rang again, so I went to go answer it. "Hello?"
"Hey, I'm here."
"Ok, do you want to come inside for a few minutes before we leave, or do you just want me to come out so we we can go now?"
"Actually, can I come in your house for a few?"
Yeah, sure, I'll open the car gate then."
I opened the gate so he could pull in and find a spot to park, "I'll meet you in a few to take you inside."
"Ok."
I met him outside and led the way to my house. He walked in and said, "This is to small for four of you to be staying in."
"I know, but that's all my mom and step-dad can afford."
"Well, how would you feel moving in with me."
"Why, are you asking me to?"
"I'm just curious if you would want to or not, because I know you wouldn't be able to."
"Well, yeah, I'd love to."
"Well, maybe I MIGHT be able to do something about that."
"Really?"
"Yeah, but for now, we'll just have to wait."
"I know."
"Well, I think we should be going now."
"Ok, let's go," I said, already out the door holding it open for him.
We got in the car, and started to drive to his house. We were silent for a while, but then he broke the silence by saying, "Why did you put that news piece on GSB after I told you not to?"
"What? I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't even get a chance to CHECK the news today. I was about to, then you called, so I shut down the pc before I even looked at it. So I really have no idea what you're talking about."
"Fine then, take out my pc in the glovebox, and go to the site, then you'll know what I'm talking about."
I did as he said, and my eyes couldn't believe what was in front of them. The news piece on the top of the page read:
This just in. Green Day's very own Billie Joe Armstrong (whom is married to someone named Adrienne or something), was caught Friday afternoon, at Wells Middle School in Dublin, California, making out with 14 year old student Wendy Arbuckle. He'd better hope his wife doesn't hear about this! from: guest
I was completely baffled. I was silent. I didn't know how to react to that. I closed the tiny laptop and put it back it the glovebox. I just sat there twiddling my thumbs. The silence was once again broken by Billie Joe when he said again, "Why did you do that?"
"What?! You still think it was me?! Apparently you didn't read it all the way through. It said that a 'guest' put in the story. I have an actual account. So if I put it there, it would have said from 'GeekBreathOStink,' not 'guest.'? And besides, I actually KNOW what your wife's name is, this guy didn't."
"So... it really wasn't you?"
"No, I haven't even told my best friend Mary about this yet, so why would I tell everyone on GSB about it?"
"I don't know. Does she have an account on there?"
"Well, yeah, but I always tell her things privately first. So.... do you believe me?"
"Yeah, I believe you. Hey Wendy, look."
"What?"
"We're here!"
"Oh no, I have to go!" I said
"Can't you just skip class?"
"No! I've never done that before. And besides, if I did, we wouldn't have any privacy, being as half the school has lunch this period, and they all eat by the lockers."
