Me, MCR and the fire..., chapter 1
"It's so cold!" I said to my three best mates. Well when I say 'said' I mean shivered.
We had won 4 tickets to our favourite (apart from Green Day) band, My Chemical Romance's concert in Manchester.
Finally 10 minutes later we were head of the line, out of the cold and showing our tickets.
We ran (mainly to get warm) inside the Apollo and pushed our way to the front of the mosh-pit.
"I can't believe I agreed to come here with you!" Becki, one of my best mates (she's not really into MCR's type of music), shouted over the support band that was playing.
"I can't believe you actually came!" My two other best mates, Ceri and Claire, said at the same time. They did that alot, predicted what the other was about to say. It kanda freaked me and Becki out sometimes.
The support bands finally came to an end half an hour later and MCR ran onstage.
"Get your hands in the air Manchester!" Gerard Way shouted. Claire's eyes were fixed on him (she'd liked him for ages), mine were on Frankie (I'd liked him fir ages) and Ceri's on Ray (she liked his hair).
"This song is a really special song, it's aboyt my and Mikey's grandma," Gerard added as Helena started.
The concert finished as soon as it started (unluckily).
"This is our last song Manchester so I expect you to sing along!" Gerard said after announcing he was wearing no underwear. The opening chords to "I'm Not Okay" filled the Apollo.
"Well if you wanted honesty that's all you had to say. I never want to let you down or have you go it's..." Gerard sang wiping his hand down his face and smudging his trademark black stripe across his eyes.
Frankie took over the microphone to sing "Better off this way!"
"For all the dirty looks, the photographs your boyfriend took, remember when you broke your foot from..." Gerard paused and let the crowd take over.
"JUMPING OUT THE SECOND FLOOR!"
"I'm not okay, I'm not okay, I'm not okay, you wear me out. What will it take to show you that it's not the life it seems..."
(Ray) "I'm not okay."
"I told you time and time again, you sing the words..." Gerard paused once again and once more the crowd took over.
"BUT YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT MEANS!"
But this time Gerard didn't continue, someone had accidentaly (well I think it was an accident) set fire to one of the seats on the balcony.
Smoke quickly filled the Apollo, I remembered Becki's asthma and as Ceri and Claire (who also has asthma) rushed out I turned to wait for Becki.
"I'm stuck!" She coughed pointing to where her jeans were stuck on a tiny piece of wood sticking out of the stage. I rushed over to help her.
A couple of minutes later Becki's asthma was getting worse, we had managed to get her jeans fee from the stage and were trying to find a way out.
After about 10 paces Becki's asthma was really bad and she collapsed.
I saw something move in all the heavy smoke. I was coughing so much that I couldn't shout out for help.
The only thing I remember after that was being picked up by someone, I passed out.
