80, chapter 2
Billie Joe got a lump in his throat.
"Yeah, I'll get you a copy, there in the van." he said trying not to seem nervous.
The girl followed him outside to the van, where Tre was already inside getting all his drums put away. Billie Joe climbed in through the back, and pulled a CD out of one of the crates.
"How much are they?" asked the girl as Billie Joe handed her the cd.
"You can take it for free." Billie Joe said.
"How are we gonna get money for gas?" said Tre to himself, though nobody heard him.
"Really? You sure?" said the girl sweetly.
" Yeah, go ahead." said Billie Joe happily, no longer as nervous as before.
"Wow, thanks!"
She put the cd in her bag.
"By the way my names Adrienne." she said holding out her hand for him to shake.
Billie Joe shook her hand eagerly.
"Im Billie." he said nervously
"I know." Adrienne laughed.
Mike came outside with more stuff that had to go in the van.
"i should probably go now, Im not supposed to be home too late." she said sadly.
"Oh okay." said Billie Joe kind of disapointed.
"Hold on, lemme give you my number before I go, in case I dont see you again." she said reaching into her bag for a pen.
Billie Joe got all happy and giggly again, as she wrote it on her hand.
"Call me sometime." she said.
"Okay." he said happily.
"Bye."
By the time Adrienne left, Mike and Tre finished packing up the van, so as soon as Billie Joe climbed in they left.
Billie Joe sat in the back of the moving van, looking at the numbers on his hand, when suddenly Tre splashed water on him from a bottle.
"Tre goddamnit!" he yelled, "Dont let the ink wash off!"
Tre laughed, and Mike gave Billie Joe a piece of paper to write the number on, and put it in his pocket to keep away from anything that could happen to it in the messy van.
