The Titleless Story, chapter 1
>Minni's POV (point of view)<
I hated moving. I hated everything about it. I was always switching between my parents every time they screwed up in raising me. My mom had had enough with me and decided to throw me in with my drunk of a Dad. He wasn't that bad but when he did get drunk; I always looked for an excuse to leave the house. My Dad reluctantly took me in. I knew he didn't want me either, but he took me anyway all the way back to California. I had lived in Cali before, but I only stayed there for a while with my mom. I had a few friends there but I didn't know if they would recognize me when I got there. I didn't bring many things, thinking I would eventually have to move back to New York except in with my Aunt and Uncle.
>Meanwhile at the Miller house<
The boys were finishing up band practice when Trey noticed a moving truck backing up into the next doors neighbor's driveway.
"Hey Brandon, it looks like your getting new neighbors again." said Trey
"Again? Wow! It seems like yesterday that our old neighbors just moved in.," said Brandon in a surprised voice.
"Maybe they left because they were sick and tired of hearing us play our music!" joked Joey getting out from behind the drum set.
"Hopefully these neighbors will be nicer than our last ones." said Brandon.
"I hope they have a daughter!" laughed Joey.
"Wow. They're not even here and Joeys' already excited to meet them," joked Trey.
"Only if their hot!" replied Joey jumping up and down on the couch.
Joey was only 16 but he always acted like he was 5. He always had something funny to say even when something terrible happened. Now he was over his head with thoughts of a hot new neighbor. Well actually Brandon's hot new neighbor.
"Hey Joey she is hot!" yelled Trey. "And there's two of them!"
Joey jumped off of the couch and ran to where the other two were standing. He just simply took a glimpse and put on his famous ear-to-ear smile.
>Minni's POV<
I was happy that my friend could help me move. She lived in the same culdesac as me along with three other houses. I hoped there would be other people my age living here also. I was finishing up high school and I didn't want to end the year with one friend. I got out of the car and opened the trunk that held most of my belongings put in boxes in a messy way. I started to reach for one when in the corner of my eye I saw three heads popped out of a garage door watching Lindsey and me picking up boxes and taking them into the house. I knew they were checking us out.
"Don't look now but we've already got guys checking us out." I chuckled to Lindsey. She instantly looked back and saw three guys watching them.
"Lindsey!" I yelled and slapped her playfully on the head.
"Hey I've never noticed those guys before!" said Lindsey.
"Really? Do they live here or something?" I asked.
"I guess so. I'd pull down your skirt just to make sure they aren't looking." She joked. That's when I realized I was wearing a small mini-skirt. I looked down and started to blush as I pulled down.
>Brandon's POV<
"I think they've noticed us guys." I said nervously.
"I like that one!" pointed Joey. He was acting 5 again.
"Dude maybe you should get to know them before you start that." Scolded Trey.
"OK mommy." Joked Joey. He was always like that towards Trey. He was the smart one, Joey was the un-mature one and I was... I was, well I didn't really know what part I played in the trio.
"Hey guys I got to go. I have plans with Nikki." Said Trey
"Ok. Bye Trey." I said. When I turned around Joey was well on his way down the driveway.
I watched him go over to the girls who were standing there unpacking boxes. Joey obviously did something right because in a matter of minutes, he was walking away with the one he said was "hot". I let out a sigh and said to my self, "That's Joey for ya'."
>Minni's POV<
It made me laugh that Lindsey never knew she had a hot neighbor. I wasn't jealous or anything like that, it's just that Lindsey is always the one with a boyfriend. It struck me that she didn't say anything about her old boyfriend. I assumed that they broke up once and for all. He always looked like he was about to hurt Lindsey, but I never thought twice about it. I was a little upset that now that I had to get all my stuff up to my room with no help from anyone even my dad. I was a little worried when I saw my dad swerve around the corner almost running me over. Only one thing crossed my mind, he was drunk.
>Brandon's POV<
I was about to close the garage door when I saw a car come dangerously close to the girl who was left behind. I curiously watched from the sides just in case anything happened. I saw a tall man come from out of the car. He was holding a beer bottle that he had obviously been drinking. He came face to face with the girl who remained still waiting for him to say something. I didn't want to be an ease dropper, but you would be listening if you could hear yelling from 13 yds away, right?
I listened as the man started yelling in a drunken slurred voice.
"Why aren't these in your room yet Meloney?" asked the angry man.
"I just barely got here 5 minutes ago dad! Geezee!" She said.
"Don't use that tone with me!" and with that the drunken mad man struck her up side the head. I gazed on with amazement that a father could do something like that. I shook my head in disbelief thinking I imagined the guy doing that. But I quickly came back to reality when I saw him walk into the house next door and realized the girl was now curled up, with her knees up to her chest and her head down crying.
>Minni's POV<
I couldn't believe my dad had stricken me for the first time in my life. I never knew he was capable of getting that drunk before. I now was scared even more than I was before. It was barely my first day back in Cali and my day was already taking a turn for the worst.
"Are you OK?" a mysterious voice asked me. I suddenly raised my head trying to see who had just spoken to me. I looked up and saw I guy who looked about the same age as I did. He had his hand stretched towards my face as if he was trying to help me. I slowly took his hand and he helped me up. I got up and felt a slight stinging pain on my cheek where my dad had hit me. I put my hand to it and it made me wince has it was stinging like hell.
"Sooo... Anyways, my name's Brandon Miller. I guess you're my new neighbor." He stuck out his hand and just as I grabbed it a shiver went up my spine.
"You OK?" he asked
"Yeah I guess." Just then I caught his eyes. They were a dark emerald green, much darker than mine ever were. I studied his hair. It was jet black spiked up in every direction. I gave out a little laugh because he looked like someone familiar.
"What? Why you laughing?" he pondered.
"Oh nothing you just look like someone familiar. " I laughed a little and popped a small smile.
"Oh really? Who do I look like?" his question made me think. I couldn't quite put my finger on it but I gave up and admitted defeat from my own thoughts.
"I'll tell you when I remember." I laughed. I looked down and I realized we were still shaking hands. I guess we just got caught up in the moment.
