Fame, Fortune, and Green Day, chapter 20
"This one's kinda good." Laura said taking another bite of the chocolate-mint sensation flavored cake.
"Are you sure I was kind of partial to the chocolate- rasberry mousse cake." Bee said setting down her fork. She, Billie, Laura, Denise (Bee's mom), Tre, and Avi were sampling various cake flavors for the wedding.
"Avi, which one did you like?" Bee said turning toward Avi. They had narrowed it down to three flavors- chocolate rasberry mousse, chocolate mocha mousse, and chocolate mint sensation.
"Hmmp oop mmm mmoo hmake."
"Hmm that's what I thought." said Bee, pretending to understand what Avi had just said. Avi had her mouth full of cake, all three flavors at once, and had chocolate mousse covering her entire face. The only time Bee had ever seen Avi get quite so messy was when she had barbeque sauce. Laura turned around to look at Tre who was running rampant, chasing after Jakob and Joey with a spork. Bee moaned.
"Which one do you like Billie?"
"Whichever one you want is perfect for me." Billie said. Bee moaned again and buried her head in her hands. She really was sick of cake shopping. Seven million cakes and everyone wanted her to pick. She who was horribly indecisive. Her mom patted her on the back, and Billie, who sat across from her, grabbed her hands and lifted her head to kiss her.
"Fine. I'm not choosing though. Joey...Jake come here for a second will you guys?" She grabbed one of each plate of sample cake.
"Babe...you guys' plane leaves in 4 hours." Billie said looking at the clock. Bee, Laura, Avi, and their new guitarist Raven (Tiffany quit to join another band), were all flying out to New York to shoot their new video, which, would also air on Fuse as "Bleeding Rose Makes A Video." They wouldn't be back for four days and it was already July 17th and they hadn't even gotten the cake flavor, let alone much else, picked out.
"I know, but I'm settling this once and for all." Bee said. She handed Joey and Jake three forks, with a different flavor of cake on each. "Which one do you guys like?" Joey and Jake took a bite of each flavor."
"OOOH! OOH! I like this one." Joey said pointing to the chocolate rasberry mousse cake.
"ME TOO! ME TOO!" Jake said.
"So there it's settled. Chocolate rasberry mouse it is!" Bee said. "Yay! A cake flavor...only seven million more things to do within the next 3 months!" Bee said.
"Well me and Bee are getting the fuck outta here. I wanna spend some time with her before she leaves not doing wedding stuff." Billie said. Bee gave Laura and Avi hugs and thanked them. She gave her mom a hug and a kiss and told her she'd call her when they were in New York.
"Wait can you give me a ride home? You did bring me afterall." Laura said as Billie grabbed Bee's hand and led her toward the door. Bee saw Billie roll his eyes and she squeezed his hand.
"Come on." he said, motioning with his free hand to Laura. She followed them out through the parking lot. Bee and Billie were a few feet ahead of her and halfway to their car, when all of a sudden they heard her gag. They turned around to see Laura standing near a tree vomiting profusely.
"Oh my God La are you ok?" Bee yelled to her best friend.
"I'm fine." La said choking out the words. "I think I got food poisoning from Denny's." she said when she was finally finished.
"Denny's? That was almost a week ago." Billie said, giving Laura an odd look.
"Well yea I know. I've been throwing up for about a week." she replied. "So I think it had something to do with that."
"Maybe you should go get checked." Bee said, a concerned look crossing her face. Laura told her not to be silly and that she was fine. She tried to convince herself of the same thing as she threw up a good 6 times at home before Bee and Billie picked her up to go to the airport, and one more time at the airport while she waited for Billie and Bee to finish their goodbye kiss before Bee boarded the plane.....
