Fame, Fortune, and Green Day, chapter 21
"OUCH!" Bee yelled as a tiny pin stabbed at her back. Almost 3 weeks after returning home from their video shoot in New York, a week since she posed for the cover of Modern Bride, and 2 weeks trying on wedding dresses and here she was again; trying on yet another wedding dress. Despite Laura, Avi, Dani, and her mom's OOH's and AHH's, Bee had yet to find the wedding dress that was "the one." And since Bee wanted to coordinate, they couldn't really do much wedding wise until she found her dress, and bridesmaid dresses to match.
"We can go to another store." Laura suggested. Bee looked her over. She wasn't looking too good lately. She was paler then usual, with dark rings underneath her eyes. However, Laura just shook her off and told her not to worry about it every time she asked.
"Yea Brittney, I don't think anyone would mind. I'm sure you could have Louis Vuitton make you a dress, or maybe Versace. You know with Jimmy Choo shoes?" Avi joked. Everyone knew Bee wanted to do her wedding the conventional way. Well, not so much conventional since there would probably be hundreds of people attending and, they had a wedding planner, more like conventional in the i'm-gonna-pick-out-my-own-dress kind of way. Bee sighed and then shrugged, walking into the dressing room to remove the hideous dress she had just tried on. She had been poked and prodded and stabbed with pins one too many times and she was getting a little bit sick of it. She was beginning to think that her and Billie should have eloped. Ten minutes later they were in yet another store. It was a small, over the top expensive store in Beverly Hills that promised that each dress was unique and like no other. About 20 dresses later, and being stabbed at least 50 times with pins, Bee emerged from the dressing room once more. The instant she walked out she expected to hear the usual OOh's and AHH's, but instead all was completely silent.
"That bad huh?" she said turning around toward the mirror expecting to see herself looking like death warmed over. Upon seeing her reflection, she gasped. She turned around to see her mom, Laura, Dani, and even Avi, with their mouths wide open, eyes wide staring at her. The dress was gorgeous. It was white, of course, and sleeveless. It had a cathedral train, and an embroidered, circular skirt. On the bodice there was an intricate design made entirely out of diamonds, and the edge of the skirt was also lined with tiny diamonds. Real honest to God diamonds. The dress was so elegant and made Bee feel like the most beautiful girl in the world.
"This is it. This is the one," she told them. They all simply nodded.
"Damn Bee, you're gonna give poor Billie a heart attack." Avi stated matter-of-factly. Bee thanked the saleslady and pain her dress off in full, all $11,000 dollars of it, so much for being traditional, and the sales lady told her the dress should arrive at her house in a month. Usually it took a lot longer, but since Bee was Brittney Gursky of Bleeding Rose, and she was marrying Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, things happened a little faster. After finding the wedding dress everything else was easy. The bridesmaids were going to wear pale yellow, and Laura, Dani and Bee's mom were going to wear pale pink since they were the maids of honor. The hall where the reception would take place would be an array of pale yellow and pale pink roses.
"I look like a fucking duck." Avi complained peering at her reflection in the full length mirror.
'You do not." Laura said. "You look just fine, besides you said you'd rather die then wear pink so shut your trap." At this Avi playfully stuck her tongue out at Laura. Bee purchased the dresses and then her, her mom, Laura, Avi, and Dani all went home to get ready to go out to dinner. Hopefully with most of the wedding stuff out of the way Bee would be able to see Billie more often. He was being absolutely awesome when it came to her wedding planning. When they weren't planning together and it was only her, Billie would take Hunter off Denise's hands while she helped plan. Today Billie took him to the zoo with Joey and Jake.
"You ready love?" Bee shouted to Billie. Billie walked into the room.
"Wow you look beautiful," he told Bee. "Will you fix my tie for me?" They were going to an upscale restaurant, along with Laura, Mike, Tre, Dani, Diego, and Avi. Billie Joe wore white pants and a white jacket with a black shirt, black shoes and his signature red tie. Bee was wearing a white, knee length halter top and a pair of those flat beaded ballet shoes.
"Thank you. You look gorgeous as usual too." Bee said giving Billie a long kiss. "Now let's get going so we're not late." Bee grabbed Billie's hand and let him lead her to the car. The restaurant they ate at was called Le Chez de Blanc. A ridiculous name for a restaurant; Bee thought. The house of white...the white house....how stupid. Not to mention the several hundred paparazzi with their big lens cameras sneaking around the shrubbery in front of the place. But Bee was used to it. She now had a habit of smiling and waving to them as if to say HA! I know you're there so picture this asshole! Upon entering the restaurant they spotted Laura, Mike, Tre and Avi and joined them at their seats. And soon as Danielle and Diego arrived.
"I don't fucking know what this shit is." Tre said.
"I could order for you if you want." Bee said. " I took 3 years of French in high school."
"Naaah. I'm gonna order a cheeseburger." Tre said putting down the menu.
"Uh Tre honey. You think they'll do that in a place like this." Laura said.
"I'm in Green Day. I play the shit out of drums. Of course they will," l Tre said. And so they all ordered cheeseburgers. They talked and joked during dinner, especially about the wedding. They were drinking champagne when all of a sudden Laura and Mike stood up.
"We have an announcement to make." Laura said grabbing Mike's hand. She looked at him and then nodded her head.
"We're pregnant." Mike said beaming. Everyone at the table cheered and clapped.
"To Laura and Mike!" Billie Joe toasted.
"To Laura and Mike!" everyone said unanimously.
