Fame, Fortune, and Green Day, chapter 23
"How do I look?" Bee asked La, Dani, Avi and her mom as she walked out from behind the curtain. It was the morning of her wedding day and after getting her hair and make-up done she had finally put her dress, veil, gloves, and shoes on. Everyone stared at Bee in awe. She was a vision in white. After a few moments of no one saying anything Bee became nervous.
"Do you think Billie will still want to marry me?" she said, chewing on her lip. All at once Laura, who was sitting down, burst into loud sobs, causing everyone in the room to laugh. Bee shushed them and walked over to her very pregnant friend.
"Aww Laura honey what's wrong." she said.
"You...j...just look s...so beaaauuuuutiiiful." Laura wailed. Bee choked back giggles and gave her friend a hug. There was a knock at the door.
"They're ready to begin the procession." Dani said after coming back from answering the door. Laura wiped her eyes, and then looked to everyone and nodded her head. Her, Dani, Avi, and Denise all dove on Bee at once and enveloped her in a big hug before rushing out to their places. Bee and her mom were left in the room alone, seeing as Denise was going to be walking Bee down the aisle since her father had died. Bee saw tears in her mother's eyes.
"I love you Mama." she said her own eyes welling up with tears. She gave her mother a hug, just as the wedding march started up. Denise took Bee's arm in her own and handed Bee her bouquet.
"If you change your mind Brittney....just pass out at the alter." Denise said, grinning. Bee laughed, took a deep breath and they began to walk. She easily spotted Billie Joe across the church. His eyes widened and he gave her a warm smile. He looked as handsome as ever. The walk to the alter seemed to be in slow motion, lasting forever. She surveyed the crowd as she walked and noticed that Adie was there, as was Claudia and Frankito. She looked to her right side and saw Julian. He was staring intently at her his mouth open in awe. He gave her a weak smile as she passed by and for a second she felt a pang of guilt. She didn't even think he would show up. She looked back at Billie Joe and knew that the long walk down the aisle would be worth spending the rest of her life with him. Everything the priest said seemed to be a blur after that. She was busy staring intently at Billie Joe, and he was staring at her.
"....Speak now or forever hold your peace." the priest said. Bee saw Billie take a deep breath, and immediately realized what the priest said. Laura, Danielle, and Avi all took deep breaths and looked to the crowd. What if Julian spoke up? It was in a way expected of him. Bee looked toward him, thinking she'd find him on his feet. Instead however he looked at her and smiled.
"Then by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife." the priest said. Hunter, Joey and Jakob walked up to the alter pillow in hand to give the rings. Billie slid a ring on Bee's finger, and vice versa.
"You may now kiss the bride." the priest said. Billie grinned at Bee and they kissed their first kiss as husband and wife. The entire cathedral erupted in loud cheers and claps. Billie picked up Bee and carried her out of the cathedral and all the way to the limo where they made their way to the reception. Bee greeted people and hugged people and got about a million congratulations before she was finally able to sit. Laura, Mike, and Tre made a toast to the bride and groom and the rest of the night was spent partying and dancing. Billie and Bee were happy to leave and go to the hotel. They were staying at a Marriot for two days until their plane to Europe took off.
"Here we are." Billie said opening the door to the room. Bee tried to take a step toward the door to enter the room and Billie grabbed hold of her dress and pulled her back. He picked her up, bridal style, in one quick motion and carried her over the threshold. He closed the door with his foot and spun her around all the way to the bedroom. By the time he finally got there he was so dizzy that he fell to the bed, taking Bee down with him. They both laughed as Bee landed on top of Billie and gave him a long hard kiss. He rolled over leaving Bee trapped between him and the bed, and began to kiss her, first her lips then down to her neck. She unbottoned his shirt and pants and he moved out of the way so she could stand. He removed her dress and they began to kiss again, the kiss turning into much more. Two hours later they lay in bed nuzzling each other, when all of a sudden the phone rang.
"Hello?" Bee said groggily. Her eyes widened and Billie sat up and gave her a puzzling look. "Oh my God. Ok we'll be there as soon as we can." she said hanging up the phone. "Come on Billie we have to get to the hospital." They both shuffled around to get their clothes on and rushed out the door. Minutes later they were at the hospital in the maternity ward. They saw Tre standing outside the door of a room, pacing back and forth.
"Is she ok?" Bee said urgently.
"Yea." Tre said, being serious for the first time in his life. "She went into labor about two hours ago. No one wanted to bother you guys but I figured what the hell."
"Are the babies..." Billie began. But before he could speak Mike walked out of the room, covered in blood, wearing blue hospital scrubs. He had a solemn look on his face.
"A BOY AND A GIRL!!!!!" he said excitedly. "Two months early but as healthy as fuckin horses!" He jumped up and ran over to Billie, giving him a huge hug. Billie grabbed Bee and Bee grabbed Tre and it was one big group hug, and Danielle and Diego ran up to them and joined in. The nurse came out and told them all it was ok to come in and see Laura and the babies. Bee and Billie walked in after Mike, seeing as they were the god parents. Bee looked at Laura and, despite the fact that she looked like she was beaten with a very large stick, she had never seen so much joy in someone's eyes. Laura was holding the two tiny, sleeping babies.
"I've already held them, and we have the rest of their lives to hold them." Mike said taking the one of the babies.
"Meet Kalliandra Farley Dirnt." he said handing her to Bee. "And this one's Bailey Joe Dirnt." he said handing the second baby to Billie Joe. Bee's eyes welled up with tears.
"You gave them our middle names." she said. After returning the baby to Mike she went over and gave her best friend a hug before the nurse shooed everyone out of the room. Back at the hotel Bee and Billie snuggled up in bed again.
"You think one day we can have a baby?" Bee asked looking up at her new husband.
"We can have anything your heart desires. Babies, horses, anything." Billie said stroking Bee's head and playing with her hair.
"I love you Billie Joe Armstrong." she said before giving him a long kiss.
"But not as much as I love you Brittney Armstrong." he said.
