Redundant, chapter 19

Mike was rushed to the hospital. He like seriously scared me when he said that his chest hurt. Tré, Adrienne and I were ordered to wait in the waiting room. We were waiting in there for about an hour 'til the doctor finally came out.

"Mr. Pritchard can see you now." The doctor said to us.

We walked into the room and found Mike lying in the bed with all the hospital equipment and shit connected to him. He didn't look too bad. Well, not as bad as I did when the living shit was beaten out of me. As we walked in, he slowly opened his eyes and looked at me. He gave me a weak smile. I gave one back as I started walking to the chair beside the bed and sat down.

"Mike," I said as I rested my ass on the comfy seat "Seriously, you shouldn't have done that for me."

He looked into my eyes. He opened his mouth, about to say something.

"Yes I did," he began "I didn't want you to get hurt. I wasn't doing it just for you, but also for Adrienne."

I looked at Adrienne who was slowly walking towards me. She placed one arm around my waist and looked at Mike. She mouthed out the words 'thank you' to him.

"Ahem," Tré said slightly pissed off "What about me?"

"You had nothing to do with this!" all three of us yelled out to him. Mike clutched onto his chest after we said that.

"What's wrong?" Adrienne asked him sort of panicked.

"The doctor told me that I had a heart attack," He replied as he released his chest "I was born with a heart problem."

"Well, at least it wasn't as bad as what I suffered," I told him as I grabbed his hand and held it in my own "I actually died in the hospital. I'm sure Adrienne told you before she left me." Adrienne nodded as she gave me a weird look on her face.

"Well, we better leave now," Adrienne said to me "visiting hours are nearly over." With that she gave Mike a small kiss on the forehead and said "Get better" as she moved away.

"Why don't I get a kiss?" Tré asked as we walked out of the hospital. I sighed then looked at the blue-eyed idiot.

"You're not sick, are you?" I asked him angrily. He looked away from me and lowered his head.

"I just wanted a kiss from Adrienne because she's so damn hot." He said.

I looked at him with wide eyes and punched him in the face. He fell to the floor holding his nose. I started cracking my knuckles just in case he said something like that again.

"I'm sorry Billie Joe," he squealed "I was just telling the truth but you're lucky you've got her!"

I stopped cracking my knuckled and help the idiot to his feet. His nose was bleeding but not too badly. Adrienne pulled a handkerchief out of her pocket and handed it over to Tré. He held it up to his nose and looked at her. He gave her a smile behind the hanky. He turned to face me, still with the smile on his face but it disappeared when he noticed the look on my face. I shook my head telling him not to do that again. He lowered his head in shame then moved away from me.

"Tré, stop it." I said to him seriously. I couldn't understand why I hang out with an idiot like Tré. Then I remembered the reason why I hang out with him.

Coz he's an idiot.

***

That night, Adrienne stayed at my house. She kept on apologizing to me about leaving, but I didn't care. I was just happy that I was with her.

We did nothing together but lie on my bed. Adrienne's head was resting on my chest as I had my hands behind my head. We just laid there in silence. I started looking out the window because something had caught my attention.

The house behind us had one of its lights on. It was the first time in a while. I use to watch this girl get changed in her room because she had no curtains for her bedroom window so just to entertain myself, I would watch her. She was very hot. But several days before I met Adrienne, I never saw her again. Two adults walked into the room and looked around. Sad expressions came on their faces as they left the room and turned the light off. But the really weird thing about those people is who they looked like.

"Oh shit." I murmured to myself as I looked away from the window.

"What's wrong, Billie Joe?" Adrienne asked me.

I rushed off my bed, nearly tipping Adrienne off the side. I headed towards my door and put on my jacket. I opened my bedroom door, ready to go outside but I was stopped.

"You didn't answer my question. What's wrong?" Adrienne asked me again.

"I have to do something," I replied "Won't be long... "
