The One That I Want, chapter 36

*Tre's House*

Tre and Meghan were back at Tre's now, leaving the 'mini party'.
"Well, this was an eventful day." Meghan started, and plopped herself down on the soggy couch. [Not wet, but smushy].
"Hell yeah." Tre said, hanging up his jacket. "I'm glad Billie's alright."
"Yeah.." Meghan smiled, a small smile. She seemed pretty tired, but she seemed like she was thinking about something.
"Hey.." Tre started, and sat down beside Meghan. "What are you thinking about, you seem a bit out of it."
"Um, it's nothing." Meghan said, and looked up at Tre. "I'm fine, I'm just tired." Tre nodded slowly.
"You sure?" Tre asked, one last time. He was kind of concerned. She nodded. "You want anything..milk, orange juice, chocolate milk, alcohol..?" Meghan smiled, and shook her head.
"Nah I'm good thanks." she told him, and nodded. "I think I'm going to go to bed..goodnight." she said, and walked herself to the other room. Tre looked at the door she went in.
"What the hell is eating her?" he asked himself, and thought about it for a while. Eventually, he took off to his own room, and went to sleep.

*Mike's House, 1am*

The credits were now rolling in, after some comedy movie that was playing on TV. Mike had Joanna is his arms. Popcorn was scattered all over the floor. The room was completely dark, except for the light of the TV. I was sleeping in the spareroom, upstairs. Mike was falling asleep, with Joanna already sleeping. He carefully grabbed the remote, and switched off the TV. Now he was relaxed. Mike decided he'd sleep on the couch with Joanna, since he was stuck there anyways. Finally ready to sleep, when the phone rang. Joanna sprang up.
"Hello?" she yelled, and rubbed her eyes.
"Joanna, you have to pick up the phone to say hello. That's how it works." Mike mumbled, and picked it up. "Hello?"
"Hey Mike, it's Tre." Tre said, not sounding too tired, compared to Mike.
Mike sighed. "Did I interupt something?"
"Nothing important, just sleep." he managed to say.
"Oh good, well Meghan seems distracted or something, but I don't know why." Tre told Mike.
"Well distracted, and frusterated. Can you help me?"
"Did you ask her what was wrong? Maybe she just doesn't want to be talked to at one in the morning..." Mike hinted.
"But, this all happened like an hour ago, when we just got back from your house." Tre explained, lying on his back on the bed.
"Tre...she's probobly just tired. Don't worry about it, okay?" Mike reassured him.
"Yeah, you're probobly right. I'll let you sleep now." Tre said.
"Bye Mikey." he said, and hung up the phone.
"Who was it?" Joanna asked, putting her head back down on Mike.
"That was Tre..." Mike said, putting the phone back.
"He's just tired I think." he said. Joanna sighed, and they both fell asleep again.

*Hospital, In The Morning*

Dr. Fletcher walked into Billie's room, turning on the lights. It was 9am. Billie opened up his eyes, realising where he was.
"Hello Billie Joe." Dr. Fletcher said, opening the blinds. "How do you feel today?"
"A little sore.." Billie answered.
"Actually, really sore. But it's alright." he said. Dr. Fletcher nodded.
"It's normal, you'll get over it by Sunday." she told him. Sunday was Christmas eve.
"What's today? The 20th?" Billie asked. Dr. Fletcher nodded, and stood beside his bed. Billie tried calculating what Sunday would be, but he wasn't really able to think right then.
"Sunday's Christmas eve." she said.
"At least you'll be out before Christmas." Billie sighed.
"Fuck." he mumbled. "How long do I have to stay attatched to these damn wires?"
"Actually, this afternoon." she said, like it was a good thing.
"Okay." Billie said.
"Not too bad." Dr. Fletcher shook her head.
"So, you expecting any visitors today?" she asked Billie.
Billie smiled.
"Yeah, actually." he nodded.
So did she, and she nodded.
"Good, good. Well, I just came to check on you. I'll turn on the TV if you'd like." she told him. Billie nodded.
Seasame Street flashed on.
"Hey, by the way. I'm just staying in here for rest right?" The doctor nodded. "Alright. See you later." Dr. Fletcher left the room, and left Billie to watch Seasame Street.

*11am, Tre and Meghan*

Meghan had just gotten out of the shower.
"Clean?!" Tre exclaimed, flicking off the TV. She shot him thumbs up. "Squeeky?!"
"As squeeky as can be!" she smiled, and took the towel off her head.
"Nice hair do." Tre said sarcastically.
"It looks like a lion." Meghan laughed, and shook her hair loose.
"Rawr...I'm a lion." she said, unenthusiastically.
"I need my brush, be right back." she said, and scurried into her room. Tre smiled to himself. Meghan came back out with brush in hand.
"What are you smiling about?"
"Ohh nothing." Tre kept on smiling looking around the room. Then he stopped.
"Hey, were you...kind of out of it yesterday?" Meghan quickly shook her head, trying to forget about something.
"No, don't remind me. Let's talk about something else." she said, quite quickly.
"Remind you of what?" Tre asked, confused. But he was interested. He wanted to know.
"Nothing, you don't wanna know, anyways. What do you want for Christmas?" she completely changed the subject.

*Mike and Joanna and Sarah [me]*

I was still sleeping, while Joanna and Mike were in the kitchen.
"Mikey..?" Joanna asked, sitting at the kitchen table. She was looking at the frying pan, still on the stove.
"Yes?" he asked, looking back at her from the coffeemaker.
"Are you making pancakes today?" she asked, looking at the 'burnt-to-a-crisp' frying pan.
"Um looks like a no." he laughed. So did she.
"Thought so."
"Well, it was burnt for a good reason." Mike said, turned to Joanna and smiled. She smirked. "Too bad Billie's not home to make us stuff."
"That's nice Mike. Wish your friend to come out of the hospital, just to make you food. That's really nice." Joanna joked. Mike nodded.
"You know, actually. I think I'm gonna go see him later." Mike told Joanna. She nodded.
"That's a good idea." Mike nodded.
