Angel Face, chapter 15
"Billie, I'm gonna go to the store and get some milk, we're out." Morgan said, as she kissed Billie Joe on the cheek, and headed for the door.
"Okay, see you soon." Billie Joe said, glued to the tube.
Morgan opened the door, and slammed it behind her, obviously annoyed that Billie Joe ignored her.
-In the car-
"FUCKER WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!!" Morgan yelled, as she had a head on collision with a car.
Morgan's car flipped over twice, and fell into the ditch. An onlooker phoned the police, and the street was filled with the blare of sirens, and blue and red lights. The paramedics went down to Morgan's car, and opened the door.
-Home-
"Mike stop!" Tre whined, as Mike threw chips at him.
"Hey you guys!" Katie said, as she waslked through the door.
She got a hug from each of the guys. The phone rang, interrupting the talking, and Katie answered.
"Hello...This is her roomate...oh my god, is she okay?...Oh god no...ok...bye." Katie hung up the phone, tears streaming down her face.
"Katie," Billie Joe began. "What is it?"
"Morgan...S-she...she was in a car accident." Katie said inbetween sobs.
"Is she okay?" Tre asked, getting up from his chiar.
Katie looked at the floor, and slowly shook her head.
Billie's heart stopped.
"Did she make it?" Mike asked, close to tears himself.
Katie ran over to Mike, and threw herself into his arms.
"Did she?" Billie Joe asked.
Katie looked up at Billie Joe, and whispered, "No.." and continued heavily sobbing.
Billie Joe couldn't breathe. Tears fell from his eyes to the floor, small gasps escaped his throat. Tre went over to Billie Joe, and put his arm around his shoulder.
"Man....I'm sorry." Tre said.
Billie Joe looked up, and tears glistened on Tre's and Mike's faces aswell as his own.
-1 1/2 years later-
Billie Joe was walking down the street, holding his coffee in his hand. He passed the movie theater, and thought of the time he saw Tre and Morgan there. He shook the memory out of his mind, and continued walking. He ran into a woman, spilling coffee all over her.
"Shit, I'm sorry.." He said, picking up the papers she had been carrying.
"It's fine.." She said, brushing off her coffee soaked coat.
Billie Joe looked up at her to hand her the papers. She was the most gourgeous woman he had ever seen. He looked into her eyes, and saw something he hand never seen before, not even with Morgan. True love.
"I didn't catch your name." She said, blushing.
Billie Joe suddenly became aware of the fact he was staring.
"Urmm..Billie Joe." he said, relieved his memory still worked.
"Nice to meet you Billie Joe, I'm Adrienne(sp?) Nesser."
Billie thought to himself 'Ask her out..don't screw this up.'
"Adrienne...that's a beautiful name."
'Oh my god, talk about cheesy.' he thought.
"Listen..umm..you want to go out for lunch sometime?" he asked, looking at the ground.
"Yea, sure." she replied.
And Billie Joe and Adrienne Nesser walked down the street, talking about thier lives, and getting to know eachother.
"Okay, see you soon." Billie Joe said, glued to the tube.
