Angel Face, chapter 4
"I'll be right back Tre," Morgan said, as she walked down to the candy where Billie Joe was standing.
"Billie, is something wrong?" Morgan asked, doing her famous puppy dog eyes.
'You have no idea...' Billie Joe thought, as he struggled to find an answer.
"No, umm, just a little tired I guess."
"Are you sure?"
"Yea, I'm sure. Thanks for asking though."
"No problem, just letting you know, anytime you want to talk, I'm here."
"Yea, thanks."
Morgan walked off to meet Tre, and Billie Joe called a cab.
"Hey, what was wrong with Billie?" Tre asked Morgan.
"Nothing, he was just tired."
Tre and Morgan walked out to the parking lot, and got in the car. After driving for about 10 minutes, Tre broke the silence.
"So, what are you doing tomorrow?"
"Umm... nothing really. Oh yea, except for Mike wanted to talk to me, but that's about it."
"Okay. I was just wondering if you wanted to go do something tomorrow."
"Like what?" Morgan asked, curiousity in her voice.
"Well, maybe we could go for that coffee that we canceled on."
"Okay,"
"Alright, umm... say I call you around noon? Maybe we could go have lunch too?"
Tre said, getting more nervous by the minute.
"Alright, sounds like fun." Morgan answered.
Tre pulled into the driveway, and walked Morgan to the door. Only to find that the door was locked.
"Oh yea, I put a key in my purse..."Morgan said, as she dug through her purse searching for the key.
"Damn, it must have fallen out at the theater or something." She said.
"That's okay, you can stay with me, Billie, and Mike tonight if you want, and we can go find it in the morning, seeing as the theater is closed."
"Thanks, I think I have some clothes in my car..." Morgan said, as she walked torwards her car. She got her clothes, and followed Tre back to his car.
"Hey Tre, how did the date go?" Mike asked, smiling.
"Oh it was great," Morgan said giggling, peeking out from behind the door.
"What did you bring her back here for Tre? Hmm..?" Mike said suspiciously.
"She lost her key, so I told her she could stay here tonight." Tre said, somewhat smugly.
"Oh I see... By the way, have you guys seen Billie Joe tonight? I haven't heard from him in about 6 or 7 hours." Mike asked, quickly changing the subject.
"Well, we saw him at the theater about an hour ago, then he caught a cab." Morgan replied.
"Oh, well he is probably out bumming around somewhere then."
As it turns out, Billie Joe was taking a walk, and a very long one at that.
"I should have just told her how I felt, I'm so stupid, fuck me." He mumbled.
'Maybe... I can still tell her.' he thought.
'No, she asked out Tre, not me, I should just keep this to myslef.'
He walked up the driveway, and into the house, surprised to see that Morgan was there.
"Hey Billie, where have you been? I haven't talked to you in like 6 hours!" Mike said.
"Chill MOM, I was just out for a walk. Please don't ground me?" Billie Joe said, making everyone laugh.
"Hey Morgan, what are you doing here?"
"Well, I lost my key, and Tre invited me to stay over here tonight."
"Oh, ok."
"So Tre..." Morgan said, turning her attention away from Billie Joe.
"Where can I sleep?"
"Billie, is something wrong?" Morgan asked, doing her famous puppy dog eyes.
