Blonde Jokes, chapter 3
"How many people are here Evie?" Cassie asked, yelling over the music that was blasting out of Cameron's stereos.
"I have no fucking idea," Evie yelled back. Hundreds of people, some famous friends of the band and some friends from around town lined the basement. Still, they could not find the simplest of people.
"Well that heeeeeeeeeeelps!" Cassie yelled when she was grabbed by a mysterious hand. Evie laughed when she saw the freaked out look on Cassie's face, but she calmed down when she realized it was only Stan. "Bloody fucking Christ, Stan!" she hit him playfully in the arm and started laughing at herself.
"Smooth, Stan. Smooth." Evie laughed and started to work her way threw the crowd to anyone familiar. She stopped for a minute passing the couch and stared at one person for a second. Confused, she was, but something just suddlenly popped into her mind.
"Emie? OH MY GOD IS THAT YOU?" Evie screamed and Emie laughed as she was engulfed into a giant hug. "I haven't seen you in forever!"
"Evie! I havent seen you in so long!" Emie smiled and hugged her long lost friend back.
"I'm so sorry I havent stayed in touch..." Evie started sitting next to Emie.
"It's ok. Really. I know you've been busy with stuff," Emie reassured.
"Well, it's just we've been touring, and benifit concerts, and all that jazz! You get what I'm saying right?" Evie asked laughing at her restless life.
"Yeah, I get where your going," Emie smiled and jumped a little when her phone started ringing. "Go enjoy yourself. This is your party," Emie pushed Evie off the couch and gave her a little push. Evie smiled and moved her way around again until she saw four familiar people.
"Corrie? That you?" Evie patted a familiar figure on the shoulder. They immediatly turned around and smiled at Evie. "It is you!" Evie screamed over the music and hugged another person she haddent seen in a long time. Well, at least not since the concert. Corrie, along with her bandmates Jess, Stef and Julia were all in a band named Mandolin of Discipline. They had just made it big, and Evie's band figured they were good enough to tour so early into their carreer. So, MOD toured with Blonde Jokes the past year.
"I have one question for you Evie," Corrie smiled and looked past Evie's shoulder. "Is Jimmy still staring at your ass?" Evie laughed and nodded.
"Yep. And we still enjoy making fun of him everytime he does it too," Evie smirked and turned around to see Jimmy in his little state of mind. "I dont know what's worse, having a dumbstruck bass player staring at your ass, or your drummer slobbering over your best friend," Evie sighed and shook her head sarcasticly.
"Let me tell ya. Both." Corrie laughed and Evie joined after thinking about it.
"True. So god damn true," Evie smiled and talked to Corrie for a bit before walking off to try and find Cassie again.
"So, that's why you scared the crap out of me?" Cassie asked rolling her eyes at Stan.
"Yep. Just for this," he laughed and showed her sign in sheet again.
"Your an idiot, you know that!" Cassie joked yanking it from his grasp. "and I still don't understand how Evie can put up with two guys constantly," Cassie rolled her eyes again and pointed to Evie who was now making her way over. "So, if you wouldnt mind, I am going to talk to someone who probobly actually has to talk to me!" Cassie joked again moving away from Stan. Evie finally approched Cassie and immediatly started laughing.
"What?" Cassie asked eyeing Evie wierdly. Evie just laughed harder.
"You, my friend, are very, very blonde!" Evie cracked up at the last word. Cassie leaned to one side and just stared at her friend who was in hysterics.
"No, I thought I was brunette," Cassie stated sarcasticly.
"Not that blonde. Blonde as in you have no idea what's going on blonde," Evie said calming down. Cassie raised one eyebrow in confusion.
"What do you mean?" Cassie asked crossing her arms. Evie smiled and rolled her eyes.
"See, blondeness. Stan was trying to flirt with you," Evie pointed at Cassie and she slightly unfolded her arms.
"Really?" Cassie asked pouting. "I sounded like a total bit..." Cassie was cut off by a somewhat familiar voice.
"Hey, you hot blonde blonde mama," Cassie went completly gobsmacked. Her eyes widened at the mention of those words. Bad memories. No need no explain. Evie started laughing and walked away without Cassie's protest. Cassie slowly turned around, but faced nobody. She sighed but was quickly met with another voice.
"Down here," the voice said again, now slightly irritated. Cassie looked both ways then looked down to be face with a little kid, probobly 13 who was literally half her size. He smiled and smirked under his breath. "Names' Frankito," the little dude, now apperantly named Frankito, was waiting for a response.
"Listen, Frankito, or whoever you are, I am way out of your league. I mean, I'm nearly 24!" Cassie backed away one step and Frankito just raised one eyebrow.
"You mean to tell me you can resist the addorable yet shmexy Frankito?" he laughed and sighed. "And I thought I learned from the best," he sniffed, sarcasticly, and walked away slouching. Cassie raised an eyebrow and stood confused on what the hell just happened to her.
"Did that just happen?" Cassie shook her head at the sound of Evie's voice. Cassie nodded still slightly shocked. "Wow Cassie. Even 13 year olds crush over you. I don't even know how he got in here. I didnt invite him!" Evie tapped on her chin in thought. "Mabey he hitched a ride with someone," she smiled and walked off again.
"Really? Now that's hillarious," Evie talked to some people, some famous, and some her friends, and now found herself talking to Joey Armstrong. If this was ten years ago, she would be jumping around on her bed singing Holiday at the top of her lungs. But now, it was like they were just normal everyday people, except thousands of people knew what they ate for breakfast.
"I know, and she was all dumbstruck," Evie smiled and saw Jimmy walking over to them.
"Whats up?" he fell over onto the couch next to Evie and took a sip of his beer.
"Cassie apperantly got hit on by Joeys' here friend Frankito," Jimmy spat out his beer and started laughing uncontrolably.
"Now that's something you see everyday," he calmed down and smiled at Evie. She rolled her eyes and stood up to get some more punch. Que daydream.
"Dude, you still staring at her ass? Cause she left like 5 minutes ago," Joey waved a hand in front of Jimmy's face and he shook his head out of his trance.
"What? Oh, sorry. Exuse me." He literally ran to the bathroom door and nearly past out before he closed the door behind him.
Cameron was talking to Sami when they saw Jimmy running past them looking like he had just seen a ghost.
"Another daydream uh?" Sami joked rolling her eyes.
"Yep," Cameron laughed. They walked over to where Evie was standing talking to Stan and Cassie.
"You know you just sent a poor man running for his life to the bathroom right?" Sami joked hitting Evie in the arm playfuly.
"It's not my fault my ass is so unresistable!" Evie joked seeing Jimmy come out of the bathroom and walk to where they were standing. He smiled sheepishly and looked down at the ground.
"All work out for you Jimmy?" Stan joked elbowing him in the ribs.
"Yeah, did it all come out ok?" Cameron laughed and Sami poked him in the ribs.
"You know we are joking Jimmy," Sami waved her hand as if this was all too blasse'. Jimmy smiled patheticly and rolled his eyes. This happened everytime.
"I have no fucking idea," Evie yelled back. Hundreds of people, some famous friends of the band and some friends from around town lined the basement. Still, they could not find the simplest of people.
