Amnesia, chapter 5
*Present*
The car was silent for the first few minutes. Neither of them would talk after what happened.
*When they just left the house (Past)*
As Mike opened the door for Michele, he hit her head with it. Michele said that it was ok, but still, Mike felt bad. As he was saying sorry for the 73rd time, Michele had almost yelled at him to shut up. As she yelled, a giant god of spit flew onto Mike's forehead. Then to roles were reversed. Mike telling Michele that it was ok.
*Present*
Mike turned to look at Michele who was looking in a mirror. 'She's probably looking at the place where I hit her. Mad did I f**k up! She probably hates me now.' Thought Mike.
She must have been thinking the same thing, since she turned her head to look at where her spit had hit him. It was a little pink. She must have spit really hard. Nasty.
When both sets of eyes met, they both turned to look in different directions. Then they both started to laugh. Mike decided to turn on the radio.
"You can change it to whatever station you want, just not rap."
"This one is fine."
It was an oldies punk rock station. It was playing OPIV's 'Knowledge'.
"So, how long have you been a doctor?"
"Oh, lets see, maybe, 5 years. I got my degree when I was 27, so, yeah, about that."
"Wow, you went to college for a long time."
"Well, I had Kim when I was 17, so I had to finish high school a year later. So I started going to college when I was 19 or 20."
"Oh. If you don't mind me asking, who's the father?"
"I don't know. Raped in an alley."
"I'm sorry. What about the little boy? Is he yours too?"
"Yeah, he is 7. His father died when he was 2, so he never really knew him."
"I'm sorry to hear that. Must have been hard for you and Kim."
"Yeah. Kim never really understood why I was married to him. She called him Dave, because he wasn't her dad. And she was afraid of him most of the time. She was sad, but she didn't show it."
"What about you?"
"Uh, I didn't really love him. I married him because he got me pregnant at a party and he was one of my friends so it wasn't as hard, ya know?"
"Yeah, I guess. Kim seems really nice. Does she talk to you about stuff?"
"No, she never tells me anything. I never even hear about her friends. She just walks home, goes into her room, turns on music, mostly Green Day, and I don't see her. She has to pick Jordon up from school and he says that he never seees her. Only if he needs something. I haven't even seen her room in ages."
"Oh." Mike was thinking about how Kim told him about pretty much everything. He didn't mind it, but he was shocked at how much she trusted him right away, but doesn't tell anyone else anything.
When they finally got to the restaurant, it was almost 9:00.
*Back at Green Day's place*
Billie Joe had just finished showing Tre the last of the music videos.
"Hey Tre, which one was your favorite? I personally like-" He looked over at Tre, who was sound asleep.
