Snowboarding And Love, chapter 1

Elise heard her alarm go off, but instead of waking up she simply pounded the top of the clock hoping her fist would make contact with the snooze button. Sure enough the loud annoying beep of her alarm clock stopped and was replaced by near silence. The second time it went off, ten minutes later, she convinced herself to get up. She walked through the bungalow style house and went into her roommates room to wake her up. Elise shook Margaret in an attempt to wake the young adult. Opening her eyes Maragret stared at Elise with a confused look on her face.

"What time is it", asked Margaret her voice hoarse and quiet.

"5:10 ish", replied Elise as she left Margaret's room to go wake Marli

Walking into Marli's room Elise could smell the heavy odor of weed and vodka.
"Wonderful", she thought to herself. It was hard enough to wake Marli when she didn't have a hangover. Fortunately, the noise of Elise accidental kicking aside a bottle of corona roused Marli from her drug induced slumber.

" Owwwww, my head, I think I'm going to fucking die", Marli cried from underneath her blanket.

Elise chuckled to herself, served her right for staying out so late on a work night.

" Wake up Mar, its already 5:20 and I wanna hit the slopes before we have to work", Elise said in a slightly annoyed tone of voice.

After a breakfast that consisted of a glass of orange juice Elise started to pile her snowboarding equipment into the back of her car. She held her board momentarily glancing over its baby blue surface and smiled. Her mom had got it for her last year, she had to work double shifts to afford it. She missed her mom so much.
The silence in the garage was broken by Marli who was describing her tale of what had occurred at the party last night to Margaret who was laughing loudly. They both got into the car and honked the horn to break Elise from her trance.

"Come on", Margate said still laughing over whatever it was Marli had told her. "You were the one who wanted to get up so early"

Elise smiled and stuck out her tongue and gave Margaret the finger. All three girls laughed.

Twenty minutes later they pulled into the Hockey Valley parking lot, flashing there employee passes to Phil who ran the booth. The three girls pulled their skiing and snowboarding equipment out and started to walk towards the employee entrance. Upon entering the employee lounge area they were surprised to see Donna, their boss, talking to a group of workers. When she saw them enter she waved her hand motioning them to come over.

"Good morning ladies she said", in an attempt to sound caring. "As most of you know we will be hosting several VIPs for the next week. They should be your number one priority whether you're cleaning their hotel rooms....or giving them skiing lessons." She said as she looked directly at Marli and Elise.

Marli giggled slightly which didn't seem to make Donna too happy.

"Oh la la VIPs El", she said whispering to Elise behind her gloved hand." We get to play rip off the rich tourists"

Both girls covered their mouths with their hands trying not to laugh loudly. Margaret unaware of what was just said looked at the two like they were crazy.

After Donna's long lecture on proper VIP care the girls were free to hit the slopes before their shift started at 7:30, that gave them and hour. This was the one perk about her Job that Elise adored if you worked at Hockey you were allowed to go on the hills before the resort opened at 9. It was still dark but Derrick the guy who ran the Chairlifts on the south west slope was kind enough to turn on some of the lights for the three snowboarders.

"Sooooo", Margaret said as they rode the chairlift up." Anyone know who the celebs are that are coming.

"No idea", Marli said as she tightened her bindings. "As long as they aren't ugly I am happy"

"Marli!", Elise said in a mock angry voice. "Your so shallow, but yeah no ugly people"

After twenty minutes of snowboarding Marli headed inside saying she was too cold. Margarte and Elsie continued for another ten before they too succumbed to the cold weather.

The two were sitting there drinking a warm coffee when Mar rushed into the cafeteria.

"Guys", she yelled sounding excited. " I just heard from Joey that the celebs that are coming are Green Day and Blink 182.....ISN"T THAT FUCKING AWESOME!!

Elise and Margaret stared at her obviously not sharing the same enthusiasm as her.

"You guys aren't excited?!?", she asked sounding slightly hurt

"Not particularly", Elise said. "Yeah I like both of their music but its still work"

Marli stared at her friends like she had no idea who these people.

"You seriously are not excited about meeting those hot studs", Marli giggled pointing out the window.

Elise and Margaret peered out the window. A large bus sat in the middle of the parking lot. Its large doors were open and a line of people started to step to.

"That's Tré and mike", Marli proudly pointed at two men who appeared to be in their mid to late twenties. "They're from Green Day"

Elise kept on watching the door as another man steeped out he had spiky back hair and appeared to be slightly shorter than the Mike guy. Her stomach did a slight flip. She leaned further into the window. "he's hot", she thought to herself

"Who's that", Elise asked Marli pointing at the black haired man.

"Billie Joe", Marli said casually.

"Is he in Green Day?", Elise asked talking just above a whisper.

"Yeah, obviously", Marli said as she returned to her seat.

"Do you know if he is taking snowboarding lessons?", Elise asked hopefully.

"Don't know, probably" , Marli said as she took a sip of Elise's unfinished coffee.

Elise hoped so, she really wanted to meet this guy in person instead of leaning against the glass and staring at him like some retard.

***

Billie Joe kept his head down as he walked he was deep in thought. He was glad
they were taking a vacation as a band it was nice to be with Tré and Mike while they weren't working. It also helped him get his mind of Adie. They had Divorced three months ago, their marriage had only lasted two years. He was so sure they were going to last but Adie said she couldn't stand the months and months of not seeing him. It wasn't his fault that was his job.

He looked up at the building in front of him, it was beautiful. Even though he had never been skiing before Tré thought it would be really funny to try and all learn together. He glanced over at a row of large picture windows. He saw a young women leaning against one of the windows staring down at him. She had long dark brown hair and appeared to be slim, but that was all Billie could make out. The girl appeared to notice he was looking right at her and she jumped back
disappearing from his view. He chuckled to himself this was going to be an interesting vacation.

He had no idea.
