Snowboarding And Love, chapter 3

Ellie's P. O. V

We left the first aid centre about ten minutes later. I had been given a tube of this creme type stuff that I had to put on my burn three times a day.

"I'm really sorry about all of this", Billie said.
"It's alright, it could have been worse", I said in a cheery voice.
"Is there anyway I can do to make it up?", he asked with a hopeful tone in his voice.
"I'm honestly fi...", I said before he interrupted me
"Hh.. How about dinner tonight?", Billie stammered

I was shocked by the question I could feel my face going red.

"Sure", I blurted out a little too quickly.
"Great!", Billie Joe said with a wide smile on his face." Ummm.. What time?
"Well, I get off work at 7 so... Is 7:30 ok?", I asked looking up at Billie Joe

"Of course, I'll see you then", Billie Joe said as he stepped onto the elevator, he waved at me quickly before the doors closed.

I stood there for a few moments as I stared at the smooth steel elevator doors. I could not believe what had just happened. Staring down at my watch panic spread through my body. I was suppose to end my break almost thirty minutes ago. "Fuck am I going to be in shit." I ran as quickly as I could back to the employee room. Throwing on a pair of boots and a coat I ran out the door into the cold afternoon air. I could see my group on the bunny hill. As I ran closer I could make out Marli amongst the group.

"You are my fucking idol!", I whispered to Marli as I passed her.
" You better never fucking do it again", she said out of the side of her mouth as she smiled and waved goodbye to the kids.

I gave her a quick hug and then ran up the hill to join my group. I ended the lesson ten minutes early, partly because the kids looked tired but mostly because I wanted a little more time to get ready. As I was walking into the employee room I was hit with a thought, "What the fuck was I planning on wearing to dinner tonight?!?".

"Margaret!", I yelled across the room. "Do you have any change of clothes with you?"
"No, sorry El", she yelled back. "Go up to 'Moguls and M'Ocean' and see if they'll loan you something."

I took the stairs as it was only two floors up and I wanted to get in through the rear entrance. Once inside the store I spotted Laura one of the workers.

"Laura, wanna do me the biggest favor in the entire world and I will love you forever if you agree", I said while trying to get my breathe back from the run up the stairs.

"Depends on what the favor involves", she said raising an eyebrow

"Can I just borrow a dress for like three maybe four hours and I swear I will bring it back without a single scratch on it".

"El.... Erg! Do you know how much trouble I could get if anything happened?", she said sounding slightly annoyed.

"Please! I have a date with this really hot guy and I can't just wear this", I said pointing to my white coffee stained shirt.

"ErgAlright... BUT, but! If anything happens I swear I will hunt you down!", Laura said with a slight smile on her face.

I gave her a huge hug and turned around to survey my options. Glancing down at my watch it was 7:04. Shit! I really had to hurry.

"Fancy Dinner?", Laura asked from behind my shoulder.

"Yeah.. I believe so", I stammered.

"Well may I suggest this one", she said in a smooth sale clerk voice as she pointed over at a beautiful red dress hanging on the wall. The dress was knee length with a small slit in the side. The top was supported by two delicate straps

"Oh my god Laura that's fucking perfect", I said gently running my fingers across the soft fabric.

"Now!", Laura said her voice becoming very serious. "This dress costs more than you make in like a month so be more careful than you have ever been with anything in your entire life... Got it!."

I nodded still staring at the dress.

Laura removed the tags and placed it in a box for me to take it downstairs. She also picked out a pair of matching high heels to go with it.

I ran into the employee bathroom where I changed. Stepping out of the stall I stared at myself in the mirror and spun around giggling.

End of Elise's P. O. V
~*~*~*~*~*

Elise took the hair tie out and allowed her long straight hair to fall down to her waist. Reaching into her backpack she removed some mascara and lipstick which she applied as quickly as possible. Steeping out of the washroom she was met by a variety of whistles and cat calls. It was now almost seven thirty so almost everyone who worked out on the hills had finished their shift. Therefore the employee lounge was packed. Elise was blushing like crazy.

"Elise?", she heard Marli's loud voice yelling from across the hall.

Dodging through the crowd Elise walked over to where a very surprised Marli was standing.

"What's the occasion?", Marli asked as she eyed Elise up and down

"Well you see ummm", Elise was interrupted by a loud knock at the door.

Sprinting across the room ( which was very hard in the shoes she was wearing) Elise practically flew herself at the door ensuring she was the first one there.

"I'll tell you all about it later", Elise yelled across the hall to Marli who had now been joined by Margaret.

Opening up the door Elise came face to face with Billie

"You look absolutely beautiful", he said as he linked arms with her.

"Your not to bad yourself", El said flashing him a smile

The waiter led the two over to their table which was in a private corner. Sitting down Elise looked around the restaurant. She had worked here for years but never stepped foot in any of its restaurants.

"Order anything you want", Billie said smiling

Elise opened up her menu and swallowed hard, the reason why she had never eaten here became quite apparent when she looked at the prices. After the waiter came and took their orders there was an awkward silence.

"So", Billie said in an attempt to break the ice. "Tell me about yourself."

"Well", Elise began. "I was born in Montreal, I lived in the Point St. Charles area of the city with my Mom and Dad. When I was sixteen my Dad died in a work related accident and my Mom was really upset so we moved to get a change of scenery. We moved to Toronto where I finished my last year of highschool. I never went to university because it wasn't really my thing. I worked at Blue mountain for a while and that's where I met my two best friends Marli and Margaret. Two years ago the three of us moved out here to work at Hockley valley after my Mom died.

"I'm so sorry to here that", Billie said sympathetically.

"It's alright", Elise said, she could feel herself getting a little worked up. "She had cancer and she was getting really sick and was in a lot of pain. But I do miss her"

Elise stared into space for a second before shaking her head and looking up at Billy

"Your turn", she smiled. "I want to hear about you now"

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

After dinner Elise walked Billie back to his hotel room. The walk was silent until Billie turned around at the door

"Ummm..... Do.. You want to come in", Billie asked rubbing the back of his neck. Elise could tell he was nervous.

"I don't think I should", Elise said looking into his eyes. "I have work tomorrow so I need to get back"

"Oh.... Ok", Billie said with a strong note of disappointment in his voice.
"Uh goodnight then", he smiled.

"Billie", Elise said just as he turned to go into his room.

Billie turned around and as he did Elise leaned in and pressed her lips against his. Billie placed his hands on her lower back and Elise snaked her hands around his next. Billie felt fireworks go off and his knees began to feel weak. Elise gently, pulled back from the kiss.

"Goodnight", she whispered an inch away from his lips.

She turned and started to walk down the hallway. Billie stood there at the door for a few moments with a goofy smile on his face. He watched until she turned the corner at the very end then he went into the room and closed the hotel room door.
