Please Don't Put Your Life in the Hands, of a Rock and Roll Band, chapter 3
"YOU'RE THE 57th CALLER! You just won four tickets to see Green Day in concert!" said the voice on the phone, and the radio.
"Um... but I wasn't... " she said but was cut off by the DJ person.
"Just stop by our studio at 238 Tyon Avenue, and pick up your tickets! Thanks for calling everyone, but the lucky... " after he said that, Layla hung up her phone. She called the right number this time, and told her boss that she would be a few minutes late. He didn't really seem flattered when she told him that, and he started blabbing on and on about how she was late at least 6 times a month. She just said that she'd be there in a few minutes, and hung up her phone.
Layla parked her car in an empty space, and locked her doors and then jogged to the entrance of the mall. She jogged to Zumiez, and ran behind the counter.
"Ugh, another boring day at Zumiez, oh goody!" she thought as she leaned on the counter with her fist on her temple, and her head leaning on it as she flipped through a random rock magazine.
"HEY LAYLA!" screamed Keegan in her ear.
"AH! WHAT THE F-" she screamed but quickly lowered her voice. "Fuck." she said in a whisper. Keegan started laughing and then hopped up on the counter as he ate his bag of potato chips.
"Get you're tank ass off the counter." Lalya said as she started to tap her fingers on the counter.
"You know you like my tank ass." Keegan said as he slapped his ass while he jumped off the counter.
"Oh yeah, let me tell you." said Layla with sarcasm that Keegan was too blonde to catch on to.
"HA! I knew you wanted me!" he screamed as he started to shake his butt in his "happy dance."
"Damn, you really have issues if you didn't catch onto the sarcasm in my voice." she said as she closed the magazine. Keegan stopped his happy dance and continued to eat his potato chips.
"What a way to lower someone's self esteem." Keegan said as he poured the crumbs of chips into his mouth. Layla gave a small grin and then went over the counter and started to straighten up the T-shirt shelves.
"Since when do you like, work here?" said a voice from behind Layla, and she turned her head with her arms still moving T-shirts. She seen one of her former friends, and scorned.
"I think the better question is: since when do you shop here?, Because I don't recall this being Abercrombie, but I may be mistaken." Layla said as she turned back to the shelf.
"Ugh, you'll never change." said her former friend as she turned on her heels and stormed out of the store, hitting someone with her mini-purse while doing so. Layla shook her head and stood on her tippy toes so she could try to see the T-shirts on the second-to-the-top shelf. She gave up, and walked over to where Keegan was building a house using the Zumiez stickers.
"I don't think we're supposed to do that." laughed Layla as she blew air next to the house, knocking it down and sending the stickers all around the counter.
"HEY! That's not right!" screamed Keegan as he pushed the stickers into a pile. He jumped over the counter and picked up the stickers that fell off.
"What's not right is while you're making a house out of stickers, I'm two steps away from killing myself trying to reach the shelves." Layla said as she watched a group of people walk into the store. She rolled her eyes because they immediately walked over to the T-shirt shelves that she just organized, and started ruffling through them.
"Hey, do you have this shirt in a smaller size?" asked one of the people as they walked up to the counter.
"Umm... what size are you going for?" Layla asked as she pulled a size chart out from a drawer behind the cabinet.
"Umm... like an extra small?" he asked as he placed the shirt on the counter. Layla looked at the shirt and the style number, then eyed the chart for the matching number.
"Umm... the smallest size we have is a small." said Layla as she lowered the chart and her eyes met up with a pair of magnificent...
