Take My Hand And Never Be Afraid Again, chapter 1
"Art class, art class..." Mary mumbled as she walke down the street. "Ah!" she said, and pushed the door open. She walked up a flight of stairs. There she found another door. Mary took a deep breath, and pushed the door open.
"Ah... Mary..."
Mary forced a smile. The old woman greatly reminded her of on elf, with her heart shaped face, pointed ear, and waist length white hair. "Hello..." "Lily" answered the elf. Mary snickered. The teacher chose to ignore this. "Please take a seat next to Gerard." A guy with shoulder-length black hair looked up at the elf (thats what Mary was already calling Lily in her mind) with a look of disbelief. Mary walked across the room and sat down next to the guy on the bench. In a feeble attempt to make a friend, Mary whisper hi in a small voice. The guy looked at her and nodded his head, giving a small smile. "I'm Mary" she continued, glad that he at least aknoledged her. "I'm Gerard" he said, giving out his hand. "SSSSHHHH!" a guy next to them whispered. Mary and Gerard simltaniously gave him the finger, and went back to their sketches.
About a an hour, containing more whispering, shushing, and fingers, Mary and Gerard walked out of the class, laughing at the looks that people were giving them. Mary was bummed out. She had alot of fun with Gerard, the first time in a about 3 years. Gerard saw Mary's smile quickly turn to a frown. "Wanna get some pizza?" Gerard said softly, not wanting rejection. Mary smiled. "I don't have money..." "Well then, your gonna just have to start begging eh?" Gerard said, smiling devilishly. "Well, I could beg or I could..." Mary just winked at Gerard. They both laughed. "You know what, I think it would be better for me if I just payed" They both just laughed and kept walking.
"Aw..." Mary heard Gerard say as they walked up to the pizza place. "Closed! What! No! How could it be closed! NOOOOO! I WANT PIZZA!" Gerard pretended to cry. Mary giggled. "Aw.. Poor baby. How about we just go to my house and heat up one of those pizzas?" Mary suggested. Gerard's face light up. "YAY! PIZZA!" Mary giggled as Gerard took her hand and started skipping. "Um... I live the other way..." Mary giggled. "Good point."
Mary took a deep breath as she walked up to her house. Gerard noticed her breath getting heavier and the worried look on her face. "Whats wrong Mary?" He asked. Mary just shook her head, but her face still showed her fear. Mary just shoved her key into the door and unlocked it. Mary took another deep breath, and stepped inside, closely followed by Gerard.
