Take My Hand And Never Be Afraid Again, chapter 3

TWO MONTHS LATER

Gerard looked Mary into the eye, searching for an expression. "Are you ready?" Mary nodded her head, looking back into the mirror. Her wild black hair fell just above her bum, hair that all girls dream for, and all men adore. Her honey colored eyes, with rings of green and specks of mahogany were the kind that that sucked you in, and you never wanted to leave their gaze. Her skine was perfectly ghost white, drastocally contrasting to her hair. She always had an aura of mystery about her, which made all men want her. But for those that knew her for a longer time, it was heart-breaking. Gerard just hoped that John didn't break her heart like all the others.

Mary looked down at her dress. It was the same dress that was on the dead girl in the Helena video. Gerard saw this and whispered "You look beautiful. Every man in that room will be jealous." Mary just gave a weak smile. "Is your heart racing?" Mary nodded. "Feeling like your gonna puke?" Mary nodded again. Gerard just smiled. "He's the right one."

Mary and Gerard, arms linked, walked down the aisle to John and the vicar. When they got there, Gerard bent down and whispered in Mary's ear "Go get him, tiger." Mary just smiled and kissed Gerard on the cheek. "Thank you so much, for everything." she whispered in his ear, and took her position next to John. Her best friend and Maid of Honor, Madison, stood a little farther off, eyes brimming with tears. "I'm so lucky to have all these people that care for me" Mary thought, as the vicar started.

"Do you, John Hart, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?
"I do."
"Do you, Mary Ophelia Addam, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I Do"
"I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride."
The kiss was soft, but filled with passion.
Frankie then jumped up and yelled "WELL, NOW LETS GET PISS ASS DRUNK!"
"YEAH!" Gerard, Mikey, Ray, Bob, and Mary all yelled back. All John did was frown. "Don't worry baby, I'll only drink a few glasses of champagne" Mary said, quickly kissing John. His expression didn't change.

John and Mary got into their limo, and drove off to the reception hall. "Baby..." John started and Mary turned her head to face him. "Yeah?" Mary answered, playing with John's hair. "Never mind. I'll ask you later."

Finally (after a car ride of snogging) Mary and John arrived at the reception hall. Everything was perfect. Mary smiled at John, and he smiled back, but his eyes remained stone cold. "It's probably just the pressure" Mary assured herself, worried about her husband (she loved the way that sounded in her mind). After a few dances, it was time to eat. Mary and John cut the cake, and fed each other, and drank with their arms entwined. "So perfect, everything is perfect, I just couldn't ask for anything more" Mary thought to herself, smiling for the most since she could remember.

But everything can't stay perfect forever.

Gerard asked Mary to dance, and Mary joyously went to dance with him. "This is the happiest I've seen you in all my years of knowing you. John must make you happy." Gerard said, glad to see that the woman of who was practically his sister (they looked very much alike to, except their eyes), so fullfilled. "Yeah" Mary sighed and put her head on Gerard's shoulder. "Everything is just perfect. So perfect. There is nothing I could, or would change." Mary lifted her head and look into Gerard's eyes. "He is just so... Funny, and romantic, and so... Ah, there just aren't words to explain how I feel." the song ended. Gerard hugged Mary and whispered into her ear "I'm just glad you found him."

Or was it a blessing disguised as another broken heart?

Mary had to use the restroom. So, she walked out of the room, and made a left. What she found there ripped her heart straight down the middle.

It was John and Madison, practically licking each other's tonsils. "No," Mary said to herself "No, no, no, no, no, this cannot be happining." This time, Mary said it aloud. John snapped his head to face her. "Look, Mary, I can explain." "Explain what?!" Mary whispered, a threatening, and yet, heart broken whisper. "How you two were kissing? Or were you just cleaning each other's mouths?" Mary never heard what John said next, as she just ran off, taking her ring off and dropping it on the floor. It made a musical ting, but to mary, it was the sound of death. There was only one person she could talk to right now. "Gerard" Mary breathed, as she aproached him. "I want to go. Now." Gerard didn't know what was going on, but took Mary's hand and lead her out to the parking lot.

The whole way home, there was silence. Mary wasn't crying. She was just too depressed to bring out the tears. This worried Gerard even more. He knew her well enough to know that if she wasn't crying, then it had to be bad. Then Gerard noticed that there was no ring on her hand. "Fucking hell" Gerard said to himself. Another broken heart.

By the time Gerard and Mary got home, Mary fell asleep, the only way to numb her pain without using drugs. Gerard easily lifted her out of the seat and carried her through the door. "John should be doing this for her, not me" he said as he gently set Mary down gently on her bed. Mary stirred, wiping her eyes. "Gerard" she groaned as she opened her eyes. "He..." "what happened Mary?" Gerard asked gently, not wanting to hurt her even more. "I caught him snogging Maddie." Mary whispered just loud enough for Gerard to hear. Gerard sat down on the bed, and opened his arms, and Mary gladly accepted. "Don't cry Mary, don't cry" Mary thought to herself, but her efforts were in vain. She felt her eyes watering, and gave in. Gerard felt his shirt slowly getting wetter as Mary hugged him tighter. "It'll pass" Gerard said, rubbing Mary's back soothingly and stroking the back of her head to calm her. "He's just another jackass, and he never deserved you in the first place." Gerard said soothingly. "That's just it!" Mary cried into Gerard's shirt. "I saw him kiss her, and I still love him! But I can't forgive him, and I want to rip him peice by peice!" Mary just hugged Gerard tighter.

"I know, Mary. I know. And no matter what happens, I will always be here for you"
