Take My Hand And Never Be Afraid Again, chapter 6
"Well, I kinda have a girlfriend" Gerard said, scratchinh the back of his head.
"Really! OH MY GOD! Gerard, that's great!" Mary said, pulling Gerard into a bone crushing hug. Gerard sighed and smiled. He knew that Mary would do this, but he doesn't know what's going on inside her. That is what bothered him. Mary was too good at hiding her emotions.
"I'm glad you're happy" Gerard said, hugging Mary back.
"I told you you're time would come! Didn't I? Mary squealed with delight.
"Yeah, you did."
Around 6:30, Mary descended the stairs, in her black skirts and blood red top, wearing her torn up cons. They were her favorite shoes, and would never throw them away. Just then Mikey come through the door holding a girl's hand.
"Hello Mikey and woman I have never met before!" Mary said brightly.
"Oh, hi Mary, this is Alex (yes, her name is alex. This just for you <punk rock gal>! )" Alex shyly waved. She was just like Mikey.
"Oh, Mikey and company, would you like to come with us to eat?" Gerard said, walking in and swiftly picking his keys up from the table.
"Uh... Nah, we are fine" Mikey said, looking at Alex from the corner of his eye.
"Well, alright, com'on we need to get going Mary" Gerard said, taking Mary by the hand and leading her out the door.
When they got to the car, Gerard opened the door for Mary, as was their custom. Mary giggled, and sat down, and Gerard snapped the door shut.
"So... Why are we going out to eat again?" Mary asked, fidleing with her hair.
"Uh... Well... Reprise Records heard out demo... And they want to make a record" Gerard said, screwing his eyes shut because he knew what was going to happen next.
"OH MY GOD, GERARD, THAT'S THE SECOND SECRET TODAY! WE TELL EVERYTHING TO EACH OTHER!" Mary screamed with delight, hugging Gerard as best she could.
"And so you could meet Kay"
"Right"
"So be on your best behavior"
"Check"
"And don't get drunk"
"Check"
"And don't pick your nose in public"
"Yes mother"
Gerard and Mary walked into the restrant and sat down at their table.
"We are a little early" Gerard said, looking at his watch. Mary looked around.
"Look at those two swapping spit like there is no tomorrow" Mary said, snickering and pointing at a couple. Gerard just turned as white as an eggshell.
"I'll... Be right back..." Gerard said, standing up and walking shakily.
"Oh god no.." Mary said under her breath. Mary just saw the woman looking up at Gerard, touching his arm, him jerking back, nad then he spat something and made his way back to Mary.
"I'm so sorry" Mary whispered, as she rubbed Gerard on the back.
"It's not your fault"
"I can't help but think it is"
"She said that she thought I was cheating on her with you so she started cheating too." Gerard said, and Mary knew he was on the verge of tears.
"Let's go" Mary said, pulling Gerard up, and lead him out of the door.
By the time Mary and Gerard got home, Mikey and Alex had already left.
"Here, I'll go change and make us dinner, alright sweetheart?" Mary said warmly, hugging Gerard. He nodded sadly and made his way upstairs with her.
And right there. Right then. Gerard...
