That's Fucked Up, chapter 2
"What do we do now." I asked. I really wanted to get out of this lobby. Random people kept looking at me like I was a piece of trash when they don't even know me.
"Mom wrote down the address and said to take a taxi to the house," answered my sister Jennifer.
"Then let's go."
The place wasn't really that big so it didn't take long to find the exit. As soon as I stepped through the doors a wave of heat hit me. I didn't know it was this hot. Then again I was in a building with air conditioner. We waved down the first taxi we saw. Jennifer gave him paper with the address on it and we were off. I stared out the window the whole time, taking in everything I saw. Rodeo kinda reminds me of back home...
As we arrived to our destination I was starting to feel a bit nervous. I guess Jennifer noticed too.
'Hey, what's wrong?" she asked sounding a bit concerned.
"Nothing," I lied.
"Oh come on... I know there's something wrong Rachel. Just tell me." she insisted.
There was no point hiding it now. If I didn't tell her she would just keep poking at it for days until she got it out of me.
"It's just... I don't know. I'm just nervous that's all. I mean, we don't know anything about these people! They're strangers to us and we're gonna come live with them."
" Well just think of it this way, they must be nice people seeing as they are letting us live with them."
"Yeah, I guess."
"Everything's gonna be okay Rachel. Come on now, let's go see our new home."
With that said we walked up to the door of the plain white house. I finally got the courage to ring the doorbell and anxiously waited. After a few seconds of waiting the door finally opened to reveal the person I was to spend the next few months of my life with.
