That's Fucked Up, chapter 3

~Later that day~

I hated the people we were living with. I think their names are Shannon and Ray. Honestly, I could care less. They're nice and all but they're so cheery. They make it seem like everything is perfect and nothing is wrong but deep down inside I know they must be hiding something. They have a daughter named Stephanie and she's a first class bitch to us. She needs a good slap. God.. I seriously need to get out of this house. I walked out of my room and knocked on Jennifer's door. She opened up immediately. "What do you want?" she said sounding a bit irritated.

"I was just wondering if you wanted to take a walk with me. You know.. To check out the neighborhood a bit," I said.

"Um.. Okay. We have to tell Ray and Shannon first."

"All right, let's go then."

I ran down the hall and practically flew down the stairs. The sooner we get out of this place the better. The fist person I saw was Ray so I had better tell him where we were going.

"Hey Ray, Jennifer and I are going to go for a walk. We're gonna go check out the neighborhood a bit. Is that okay?"

"All right. Just make sure you're back in time for dinner."

"Okay."

I grabbed Jennifer's arm and basically threw her out the door. "Hurry up," I yelled as I set off down the road.

"I'm coming! Why are you in such a hurry" she asked.

"I don't know. I'm just curious to see what this place is like I guess." I lied. We walked in silence for a while after that. After about 10 minutes or so we heard a noise that was barely audible.

"What the fuck is that?" asked Jennifer.

"I don't know." I tried to ignore it but the further down the road we went, the louder it got.

"It sounds like a band practicing or something. I think it's coming from this road, let's see." As soon as we turned the corner, everything became clearer.

Sweet Children/ Sweet Children/ Remember When?

"It is a band practicing." said Jen.

"Where are they?" I asked.

"Over there", she said.

I looked towards where she was pointing. It was a little white house with a band playing in its garage. They weren't all that close, so I couldn't see them all that good. I could make out some of their features though. From where I was, I could that the singer was a kinda short fellow with.. Umm... Looks like blue hair. The guy next to him was a bit taller with brown hair. I can't see if they're playing a bass or a guitar, being so far away. The drummer in the back had some nice green hair though. They're rather ugly really but then again, looks don't make the band.

"Hey, do you want to go over there and talk to them?" asked Jennifer. She always was a bit more outspoken than me. I was quite shy actually.

"No, just let them practice. Let's just go ahead and turn down this road."

We turned and just kept walking. We went through an alley and spotted a park at the end of it.

"Do you want to stop there and rest? My feet kinda hurt." I told Jen.

"Sure."

We walked over to a bench ad sat down. It was quiet here. Kinda eerie actually. There aren't even birds chirping. You would at least expect to see some little kids playing here.

"What do you think about Ray and Shannon," asked Jennifer, breaking the silence.

"I don't like them that much."

"Why not?"

"They seem fake. It's like they're hiding something. Something huge, and pretending that everything's ok."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean.. It's just... Forget it. I'm not thinking right now. Let's just go back." I said getting up.

"All right."

Today had been a hard day. I'm just glad that it's over... Screw dinner... I'm going to bed.
