Jealous Jamiee and the Unattainable Billie Joe, chapter 5

Billie decided to take Jamiee up on her offer, since he didn't know how to say no. She was a bit pathetic, in a way, and he kind of felt sorry for her. He did really like her, just not quite as much as she would have liked. So, on a deliberately long walk, Billie walked all the way across town to Jamiee's house. He walked slowly in front of her lawn, and she ran out to meet him. "So, will you be my valentine, Billie Joe?" He nodded and she kissed him hard on the lips. She wasn't a particularly good kisser, but he didn't mind. He kissed her back, and when they broke away, Jamiee invited Billie inside. They talked and joked, basically telling each other their life stories. Billie didn't exactly feel like telling Jamiee about his dad, first of all because he really didn't want to start crying again, and second of all, he didn't really feel comfortable telling her something that personal. Surprisingly, she hadn't found out about that before; Lizz hadn't told her.

Billie looked at his watch. 4:49. SHIT! He was supposed to be at band practise in 10 minutes! He told Jamiee, and when she looked disappointed, he invited her along. The two of them ran as fast as they could, but despite that, they still arrived at Mike's garage 10 minutes late.

"DUDE!" Mike started, but cut himself off as Jamiee walked in behind Billie. " Who is she?"

"My girlfriend, you idiot!" joked Billie, realising that he had never brought Jamiee to band practise before; it had always been Lizz.

"But I thought- nevermind." Mike got 'the look' from his green-eyed friend as a sign to shut the hell up. They started playing, Jamiee staring lovingly at Billie as he belted out the lyrics.

When practise was over, Jamiee announced that she had to leave. Billie pecked her lightly on the cheek, and she walked out, wiggling her bony ass as an attempt to get Billie to look at her. She was way too desperate. After he was sure Jamiee had left, Mike burst out, "OMFG I CAN'T STAND HER!"

"Hey! She's my girlfriend man!" Billie defended Jamiee, a little half-heartedly.

"How can you stand her!?!?! First, she is way to clingy. Second, she was flirting with you non-stop! I mean, you're already going out with her! What the hell does she need to flirt for? And anyways, I thought you liked Lizz! You've been talking about her for the past 5 months! Have you, like, suddenly stopped liking her?" Al agreed, walking over to the two friends.

"She is not too clingy, and she is not flirting with me that much! Is she?" Billie argued uncertainly. Mike and Al nodded, and Billie put his head in his hands. He moaned. "Yeah. I still like her. Lizz, I mean." Billie sighed. " I just- I don't know. I didn't know how to say no to Jamiee! She really likes me and she snuck out of school to put a card in my bag saying how she feels, and... I just couldn't stand to break her heart. She's one of my best friends, too."

It was March 2nd. Billie and Jamiee were still going out, and Lizz, much to the surprise of Jamiee, was very happy for them. Jamiee thought that Lizz liked Billie, too, but she figured she was just wrong. Again. Jamiee liked it when people were jealous of her. Billie had thought that Jamiee would have gotten sick of him by now, but no. She was just as clingy and flirty as before, if not more. But Billie was starting to get a bit sick of Jamiee. He had thought that his feelings for Lizz had died during his relationship with Jamiee, but they were coming back. Also, Jamiee and Lizz had sort of broken apart. They were both growing into very different people, Jamiee a girly girl poser trying to be a punk, and Lizz a hardcore punk. They were both finding it a bit hard to stand each other, as best friends. They were still friends, just not best friends.

That night, Billie thought a lot about both of the young women in his life, unintentionally comparing them to one another. They were both quite good looking, Jamiee having gaining the weight that she had lost back. Jamiee had dirty blonde hair, that she had gotten bleached blonde streaks put into. It was about ear length, and layered. She had piercing blue eyes, and was quite short. Her sense of style had evolved from punk-style clothing to lots of pink, and a lot more skirts, and tight clothing. Jamiee was quite good looking before she lost all of the weight, then she looked really sick all of the time, then when she gained the weight back, her skin was still pretty tight. She looked better, but not as good as she looked before she lost all of the weight.

Lizz, on the other hand, had deep, dark chocolate brown eyes, and dark brown hair. She had the bottom layer of her hair dyed black, the middle layer stayed dark brown, and the top layer had black, bleached blonde, and 2 shades of red streaks. She had 3 piercings in her right ear, and 4 in her left. She also had her nose pierced, and had a black sun tattooed around her belly button. She was skinny, but not super skinny. Her sense of style had stayed basically the same, if not becoming even more punk. She wore a lot of black and red, and lots of black eyeliner.

Billie then started to compare their personalities. Jamiee was a real girly girl now, trying to be a punk, which Billie found extremely annoying. She also talked a lot, which just added to his list. Lizz, on the other hand, was a real hardcore punk. She regularly went to Gilman Street, an underground punk club. She didn't talk too much, and always seemed to say the right thing at the right time. Jamiee loved to draw attention to herself, and Billie often caught her looking at other guys. He didn't say anything, though, because he knew that she would just deny it or say that she knew them from school. Lizz never liked to draw attention to herself. There were a few other punks in the school, so she didn't draw too much attention from that. She had pretty big boobs, as did Jamiee, but unlike Jamiee, she didn't like guys staring at them. Whenever she wore tight clothes, they were always black, which minimized the size that her breasts appeared to be. Jamiee also got really jealous whenever Billie talked to any other girls, even Lizz, and so he didn't get to hang out with her very much outside of school, which he felt really bad for. Both girls were very musically talented. Lizz played the guitar (which she was REALLY good at) and could play a bit of the drums and a bit of bass. Jamiee could play the drums REALLY well, and could sing and play the piano well, too. She also played the flute and the clarinet, but not as well. Jamiee was more of a social person than Lizz, which sometimes came in handy, and sometimes got her in trouble. It wasn't like Lizz wasn't social, she just wasn't AS social.

Billie spent a few minutes figuring out who he liked more as a friend, and who he liked more as a girlfriend. He hadn't reached a verdict by the time he fell asleep. The next day at school, Billie realized that Lizz had been absent for a few days, so he decided that he would walk over to her house after school to check on her. He was feeling pretty bad about not hanging out with her as much as he would have liked, and he thought he would go and apologize for that, too. So, after school, Billie called his mom and told her that he wouldn't be going home on the bus. Lizz lived fairly close to the school, so it only a few minutes to walk there. When Billie got to Lizz's house, he saw no car in the driveway, but figured that if she was going away, she probably would have told him. He knocked on the door, and was greeted by Peter, Lizz's brother, who's hair was a complete mess, and his eyes were all puffed up from crying.

"Uhh... Hi Pet (their nickname for him) is Lizz home?" Billie asked Peter, who towered over him. He was only 2 years older than him, but was already 6 foot 1. Peter nodded, not saying anything, and pointed him in the direction of the living room. When Billie arrived in the living room, he saw that it was dark and full of smoke. He saw the orange-ish glow of a lit joint, and heard Lizz exhaling. As Billie's eyes adjusted to the light, he saw Lizz leaning against the couch on the floor, a half-gone joint in one hand, and a half-full beer bottle in the other. Her eyes were puffed up from crying, too, and fresh tears were visible on her face, the light from outside casting a blue-ish glow on her skin. She had heard Billie's footsteps, and turned to face him, taking a swig of beer in the process. Billie took another step towards her, and kneeled down beside her. She burst out crying, and he snatched her up in his arms. She wrapped her arms around his back, clutching onto his shoulders, her face buried in the crook of his neck. He snaked his arms around her body, one hand coming to rest on the small of her back, the other on the back of her head. He rested his cheek on the top of her head and held her for a few minutes, until-

"WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!" Billie turned around to see...
