A Night To Remember, chapter 1

I sat up. Sunlight streamed in through my window. It was a beautiful day. Although the sun was nice, the even better thing was that I was going to a Green Day concert tonight. I couldn't have been happier.

I looked over at the clock. It was 11:30 AM. My friends, Natalie and Rachel were leaving at 3:00. Green Day was my all-time favorite band. I couldn't wait to go. I hadn't been to a concert in a while. I got up and dressed, quickly and quietly. I chose to wear a pair of ripped up jeans with my favorite Green Day shirt. I brushed my hair and put on eyeliner and lip gloss. I hurried downstairs to find my friends spread out in the living room watching MTV.

"Hi," Nat greeted me.

"Hello," I replied, trying to wake up completely before the concert.

I grabbed a cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin and sat with my friends on the couch. The coffee was cold and the muffin was stale so I had to find myself something else to eat. I decided that it was late enough to eat lunch so I put a frozen Stouffer's fettuccini with alfredo sauce in the microwave. I knew all my friends were excited about the concert tonight. We were in the front row. Last time I had been to a Green Day concert I had been in the very back.

We sat around watching TV till one, when we all decided it was time to get ready. Unlike my friends, I wasn't still in my pajamas, and while everybody else changed I brushed my hair. My friends all seemed to take forever to get ready for the concert, especially Nat. She insisted on putting on black nail polish and dark, heavy make-up. She wasn't punk, but she loved Green Day, and totally adored Billie Joe. Everybody was finally ready to go at 3:09. I know we didn't leave that much after 3:00, but I still prayed that traffic wouldn't be bad. I really didn't want to miss this concert. On the way there we stopped at McDonald's for something to eat. Nat and I were vegetarians so all we got was soda and fries. Rachel got a kids meals because she wasn't that hungry.

After we finished eating, and left McDonald's, the traffic seemed to get pretty bad. We weren't moving more than 15mph which was terrible. Just when we thought that there was no way that we would make it on time, the traffic seemed to return to normal speed.

"Thank God," Rachel yelled at the top of her lungs.

"Yeah," Natalie agreed.

We did luckily end up getting there on time. I was totally thankful for that. After buying t-shirts and other stuff like that, we made our way to the front. As soon as Green Day came on, my friend started screaming. It was actually kind of funny. But anyway, they were great. Towards the end of the concert, Billie decided to get someone to play the guitar, the bass, and the drums. When he picked Rachel, Nat, and I, I couldn't have been more excited. We all got backstage passes for after the show as well.

After the show we all headed backstage. Mike was as hot as ever. I'm sure Nat felt the same way about Billie. I think that Rachel might have thought that Tre was hot too. I know that she mentioned that he was hot in the past. Mike was busy talking to someone so I didn't go up to him right away. I stayed and talked to Mike all, and just as it was time to go he asked for my number. I almost screamed and hugged him, but thankfully, I was able to control my emotions. I gave it to him and he gave me his. I almost fainted when he promised he would call me.

After we left, on the way to the car, Nat told me that Billie Joe had asked her out and she was going to dinner with him tomorrow. Tre apparently asked for Rachel's phone number as well. We were all more excited than we had been in a very long.
