Where Did Green Day Go???, chapter 2

Magenta snapped out of her daydream and trotted into the hall. She pushed "view" on the little plasma screen next to her door. A girl with short brown hair and shining brown eyes stared into the screen.
"ABBY!" Magenta cried. She threw the door open and Abby stood there smiling in her favourite Green Day t-shirt that she had made herself, pink trousers and black boots to finish off the look. She hugged Magenta.
"Happy birthday!" She said.
"Thank you!" Magenta said. She noticed that Abby wasn't carrying a present. She wasn't one to beat about the bush.
"Don't I get a present?" Magenta asked as she closed the door.
"You will." Abby grinned. "Not yet though." They went through to the living room where Magenta showed her friend her brand new TV.
"Wow, that really is crap." Abby said as hip hop singers (If you can call it singing) posed in music videos next to half naked women and pimped up cars. Magenta glared at the TV in disgust and the house was thrown into silence.
"Are your parents working?" Abby asked. Magenta nodded glumly.
"They wouldn't take one day off to be with me." Magenta said as tears filled her eyes. Abby put her arm round her. Magenta felt guilty complaining to Abby about her parents, because Abby was an orphan. Her parents were killed when she was five. Abby never said anything, but Magenta knew that Abby was secretly jealous of her.
"Don't worry. I'm here. And you'll forget all about your parents when you see your birthday present."
"What is it?" She asked. Abby laughed.
"I'm not telling you! I think you should change before we leave. You're a mess girl!" Magenta looked down at her PJ's and slippers.
"Why? Where are we going?" Magenta asked.
"I'm not saying a word! Be ready in about twenty minutes. Oh, and wear your Green Day t-shirt." Magenta gave Abby a puzzled look and went into her bedroom.
"Do I have time for a shower?" She yelled.
"If you're quick! And I mean REALLY quick!" Abby shouted back. Magenta went into her en-suite bathroom and turned on the shower. It was built to replicate a waterfall. A cascade of water fell into a rock pool below it. The rocks and plants looked incredibly real, but if you tired to sniff a flower or pick a leaf your hand would pass right through them.
"Up." She said. The water heated up a little. She stepped under the waterfall and let the warm water soothe her.
"Hair mousse." She said and held out her hand. Pink scented gel dribbled from a hole in the ceiling. It smelled like passion fruit, and it was more powerful than shampoo and conditioner put together. It made your hair unbelievably glossy and sleek. She smoothed it through her blonde and pink hair and washed it out.
"Perfume." Magenta said. The water changed colour from clear to blue in an instant, and its seductive scent made Magenta feel calm.
"Drier." Magenta said. The waterfall stopped and suddenly pleasantly warm air blasted her from all directions and dried her in an instant. She sprinted out naked and ran to her wardrobe and pulled out her Green Day t-shirt, dark blue skater jeans and her Converse shoes. When she returned to the living room, Abby was waiting. She was glancing at her watch and frowning.
"Was I too slow?" Magenta asked.
"No, it's not that. It should be here by now."
"What?"
"Your present. It-"
Abby was cut off as an elevator smashed through the roof and landed in front of them. They both screamed in shock then coughed as the dust and plaster filled their lungs. From the dust cloud, the door opened and a small figure stepped out of the elavator.
"Greetings! I am Plumbob 427, your guide for the day!" The dust revealed a tiny purple leprauchaun in a silver jumpsuit and top hat. He smiled with practised ease.
"You were supposed to knock at the fucking door!" Abby yelled.
"I'm very sorry. The coordinates are sometimes a little inaccurate."
"M-my roof!" Magenta stuttered. Sunlight poured in from the huge hole.
"Don't be alarmed! The restoration team will be here shortly to fix your roof up good as new!"
Magenta stared dumbly.
"My clothes!" Magenta stared in dismay at her Green ay t-shirt, which was now covered in dust.
"I can fix that in two seconds! Now, where would you like to go?" Plumbob 427 repeated. "The favourites over the past 6 months have been the building of the pyramids, the fall of Rome and the-"
"Hold on." Magenta said. "What is this?"
"It's your birthday present!" Abby beamed. "I booked a time travel trip for us both." Magenta gasped.
"These are brand new, state-of-the-art! How could you afford-"
"That doesn't matter. So, where would you like to go Magenta?" She asked. Magenta didn't even need to think about it. They both grinned at each other.
"I want to go back to 1994."
"And the location?" Plumbob 427 asked.
"Can you go to certain people? You know, land where they are at a particular time?"
"Of course, the time machine is designed to-"
"That's great! Abby, who should we see first?"
"I think it should be Billie Joe." Abby said.
"Please step this way!" Plumbob 427 said. He let them pass through and they stepped into the lift. Plumbob 427 stepped inside and the doors closed. The time machine looked like any other lift. It smelled funny and the light flickered. Plumbob 427 closed the doors and the lift button lights started to flash.
"What is the full name of your selected individual?" Plumbob 427 asked.
"Billie Joe Armstrong." Magenta said.
"And what year?"
"1995. Take me to 1995."
"And the month?"
"It doesn't matter!" Magenta said impatiently. Plumbob 427 pressed a load of buttons and pulled down a handle.
"The elevator should take us to within ten metres of his precise location. But these can be a little temperamental." He pulled down a large switch, and the lift started to move downwards.
