Forever Green, chapter 9
They drove the car up the street as fast as the speed limit would let them. Billie was no where to be found. ‘Where would he be?’, Tre asked. They started thinking. ‘The school, the oval, his place’, Mike suggested. ‘No there all to obvious’, Tre answered. ‘The pier’, Steph screamed. Mike turned the car as fast as he could and drove straight down.
The drove slowly seeing if they could find him. Sure enough Billie was sitting in the end of the pier. Just the way Steph was when they found her weeks ago. Mike parked the car. ‘You should go talk to him’, Steph said to Mike and Tre. ‘No you go, he’s in love with you’, Tre said. ‘Yeah which will only make it more awkward’, Steph replied. ‘No it wont, he’ll probably want to see you the most anyway’, Mike said. The sat in the car for a minute in silence before Steph hopped out. She walked as quietly as she could down the pier from the car, and stood a few meters away from Billie. Tre and Mike watched from the car. ‘Your not making me go back there’, Billie muttered under his breath. ‘I’m not here to take you back’, Steph replied. She walked over slowly and sat down beside him. ‘I don’t believe he would wanna come and get me, after all he’s put me though’, Billie cried. ‘Maybe, your mum put some sense into him?’, Steph whispered. ‘No way, he’s always been a jerk and he always will be one’, Billie told her. Steph placed her arm around him, and leaned her head against his shoulder. They sat together for a while looking over the water, with the wind blowing on them. It started to rain. ‘Maybe we should go to the car’, Steph suggested. They got up and started walking. Billie stopped and pulled Steph back towards him. ‘Do you want to finish what you we’re telling me at the hospital?’, He asked. ‘You we’re awake?’, she asked in shock. ‘Well for the last part anyway’, he told her smiling. Steph looked down so he would be able to see the small smile on her face. ‘No its raining I’ll tell you another time’, she said. Billie pulled her in closer. ‘No I don’t mind standing in the rain. It seemed important’, he told her smiling. ‘No I don’t want you getting sick, you just came outta hospital’, she replied to him. ‘No I came out, so I could talk to you. To be with you. I want you to tell me, everything you were going to tell me’, she said. ‘Well where was I up to?’, she asked. The both of them looking onto each-others eyes. She stepped closer. The rain was coming down hard. They were completely soaked, and cold. But standing together made them feel warmer inside, and happy, which is what mattered the most. ‘Well you we’re up to the, part, where you we’re going to tell me three specials words’, he said pausing and putting his hand on the back of her head bring her close. The rain was coming down harder and harder. ‘
Should we go get them?’, Mike asked Tre in the car. ‘No something’s going to happen. Just leave them’, Tre said smiling.
‘Well what I was going to say was’, Steph continued. The both of them getting closer. ‘I, I love you’, she finished. Billie looked deeper into her eyes and started moving closer. Steph started to lift her self up by standing on her tippee toes. They brought them selves closer together. Steph placed her arms around him and both closing there eyes, they gave each other "true loves first kiss".
