Penguins in the Caribbean, chapter 20
That night they both slept nicely in their own beds without being disturbed by the other. Until Zafera had awoken around five, she tried to fall back to sleep but to no prevail, she dressed in black to fit her mood and walked downstairs. After lacing up her leather high-healed boots she walked down the foggy road.
Once in awhile she would always feel the need to walk down to the old bars and listen to the conversations of drunks, but then again there wouldn't be anyone around at that hour, she decided not to go there. She watched the scenery disappear and the houses became shops.
To escape the cold air blowing through her jacket, as if she wasn't wearing one at all, she scurried into a glass shop.
Everything was just so beautiful. She bought a necklace made of small pearls, not one of those gaudy pearl necklaces; it had little pearls in the golden chain. She also bought Ollie a silver pig ring. She had trouble finding something for Billie, what could he possibly want?
She found a note book with little designs on it and thought he would love it. She skipped about. When she came home it was around 7:30 a. M. She wrapped the presents up and handed the present to Ollie. She hugged and kissed Zafera but soon had to go to work.
"Billie... I have a surprise for you!" she looked around the room, no Billie anywhere! She walked into the bathroom and still no sign of Billie. She walked into her room and there he was.
"Ughh, finally!" he got up. "Where'd you go? Your making my life run off schedule!" he crossed his arms and looked angry.
"And how does your schedule work exactly?" she rolled her eyes. "Don't answer that. Hey look I got you a present." She handed him the package.
"Aw, and it's not even my birthday... Which I might at is Tuesday!" Zafera looked surprised.
"It is?"
"Yup."
