Penguins in the Caribbean, chapter 22
Zafera went to Mike's house for the night, they talked about everything that was going on in her life. All she needed was the guidance of a friend, Billie wasn't being much help since she hadn't seen him since school on Friday.
Zafera had mentioned Billie once and Mike finally broke into the discussion she knew was coming. "Zafera please! You know he likes you! And you know whati think you like him to... Don't you." He told her. She blushed and turned away. "I KNEW IT FROM THE BEGINNING! Well not the beginning but awhile ago!" he looked happy with himself.
The realization of it all hit her like a brick. Why hadn't she seen that before? She loved Billie. And she hoped to god that he loved her back. She smacked her face "I can't believe I never saw it before."
"Me too."
"You're not helping."
"I don't need to help, I think you would make a great couple!" the rest of the night she couldn't fall asleep. She didn't know what to do. She had never really been in love before.
She walked into the house. It was really quiet, walkingto Billie's room. She bit her lip, shaking him awake. "Billie time to get up, It's the play today."
"Not today." He hid his face under the covers. Why did she have to see him he thought. He still didn't know how to act around her since last night's revelation.
The rest of the day they spent ignoring each other. Mike got very angry and tried to push them into spending time together, they never did, they always found an excuse not to.
By the end of the day Billie was finally working up the courage to tell her how he feels. He promised himself right after the performance he would do it. It would be his shinning hour!
