The Lives of 5 Idiots, chapter 8
Abby's POV
Wow, this is the last day of summer until starting at high school tomorrow. I have no idea what to do to make it last! All I know is that Jade's coming over, then were going to call on our beloved friends, and do...something...anything! I silently rocked back n forth on my bed while waiting for Jadelin, my cat Carmella was sleeping on the floor, I hope Jade does not wake her up when she gets here...the stupid cats in heat...again! Just then I heard someone walking up the stairs, I heard my mommy yell "Abigail! Jade's here!!!" My door opened and Jade silently entered the room, I noticed that she dyed her hair, it was black with shiny blue stuff in it. She walked over and playfully punched my arm. I said oww, she just laughed. Stupid Jade. So we sat on the bed Indian style and ate a Twix, after we ate it we remembered that our 'friends' were waiting for us, so we jumped off the bed and ran down the stairs and out the door. The skateboarders were outside my house as usual, and of course, so was Evan, he looked at me as me and Jade quickly tried to walk away from them. He yelled at me "Hey, hey miss! Do you like Slipknot?" I stared at him for about 5 minutes, I didn't even answer him, I just walked away.
My POE (jade)
After our weird little encounter with Evan, who we see EVERY DAY we started walking to Mike's house. When we arrived there I saw him playing his bass on his porch. When he noticed we were there he looked up at us and smiled. Mike had recently started gelling his hair so that it was spiky, and the other day he asked my to pierce his ear. He really looked like a punk rocker now, his looks changed quite a bit over the summer, and girls started to notice him more to. He said he'd be back in a second, when he came back (which took him 3 seconds!) we started walking down the street in chain linked arms, Abby on his left, me on his right. We started chanting "follow the yellow brick road, that's white!". People stared at us, but we really didn't give a fuck. After a while we arrived at Tre's house, then Billie's, then Snoops then Luda's. And we all skipped to the park arm in arm. It was a weird place to spend the rest of our summer, but this place was the most special place in the world to us. Whenever one of us were feeling down, we'd come here, and just swing. It might sound kinda stupid, but, it just made things a little better. Like when Billie's dad died, he would come here 24/7, it was so sad, but he got over it, not that you ever can, but you know what I mean.
So we all raced to the swings, unfortunately there was only 4 swings. So two of us would have to sit on someone's lap. We did rock paper scissors (yes with 7 people) and me and Snoop had to sit on someone's lap. Snoop ran to Lude, they did their secret handshake, giggled, and then Snoop sat on Luda's lap. So then it was my turn. Billie and Tre piped up at the same time and yelled "Sit on mine!" I picked Billie, Tre looked pissed, while Billie just smiled.
Over the years, I had seemed to form a crush on Billie, I really lubed his smile, yes he has crooked teeth, but, just, SHUT UP! I kinda have a thing for guys like him Mike and Tre, the whole 'punk rocker thing,' i just like guys like that I guess, and I for some reason really liked Billie. But Tre would be steaming mad if he knew that, I did reject him, and every so often when we were alone he'd ask me out again. The only person that knew was Abby, she just thought I was weird, and I think Mike knows, he kinda noticed. And one time I told Luda when he was high, he giggled though and passed out. So I don't think he remembers.
So once we were all situated on our swings, we started seeing who could get the highest.
Abby yelled "I'm as high as Pluto!"
"I'm as high as a butterfly"i squeaked
Tre piped up and screamed "I'm as high as Evan!"
We all laughed (by the way if you haven't figured this out Evan's high 24/7).
We all giggled for a bit at Tre's comment, then out of nowhere Snoop yelled "HEY GIRL HOW YOU DOIN?" We looked around startled to see who he was talking to. No one. Me and Luda started laughing, I was laughing so hard that Billie had to wrap his arm around me to make sure I didn't fall off, I started blushing.
Billie's POV
Oh sweet motherof gosh! Jadey's going to fall off! She jiggles when she laughs! It's so funny, I guess I better hold her then. I put my am around her to make sure she didn't fall. I looked at her face and I noticed she was smiling, and blushing. I smiled at her. I looked at Mike all proud like, he just raised his eyebrows and laughed, then I looked at Tre, oh shit he looks mad.
Tre's POV
Ughhhhh! Stupid Billie! That should be Jade on MY lap, not stupid Billie's! Ok Tre calm your self down, Billie knows that I like her, so the fact that she sat on his lap, and he 'hugged' her, and that she blushed and smiled, does not mean that she likes him...of course it does! Ugh! Ok don't jump to conclusions, their just friends. Now I'm going to enjoy the rest of the day with my best friends.
Mike's POV
We talked about Bob Marley for a bit, and then the sun started to set, and all the gangsters were starting to come to the park, and since we didn't want Tre to piss them off and get shot, we started on our walk home.
We dropped every one off, and when every person got to their house, Jade and Abby would run up and bear hug them, quite a funny sight to see, Snoop looks like a deer caught in the headlights. It was them my turn, Jade and Abby hugged my said bye and started skipping back home while singing ba ba black sheep. They really are the coolest girls in the world. I watched them until they faded from my view, I shook my head and walked in. I jumped up the stairs 4 at a time (I'm freaking talented) and collapsed on my bed. I thought to myself 'wow, that was an awesome summer.' I set my alarm clock, and fell into a deep sleep. I was going to need my beauty sleep for tomorrow.
