She Is My Baby, I Love Her So, But It's Too Late Now, I've Let Her Go, chapter 2
Three days later
'So, how exactly did you all get your names, then? ' Baker Street Noise had just finished their rehearsal at the studio where NuRock was being held. Mike was sitting on a speaker, drinking a beer and smoking a cigarette. Behind him, Nibs was trying to sneak a beer from the cooler.
'So come on. I'm guessing your parents didn't actually christen you PeeWee. And you can freaking well put that beer straight back, Nibsy, dude. ' Nibs glared at Mike's turned back, but replaced the beer.
'Well, I'm Chalky cause I'm so pale, ' explained Chalky. 'PeeWee is called PeeWee, cause he's so short' PeeWee was at least six feet tall 'Nibs was named Nibs as he is always eating something, and didn't appreciate us yelling 'Nibbles' when we go out... '
'And I'm called Bailey Jade because that's what my mum called me before she was committed. ' Added Bailey, from her perch on another speaker.
'Committed? ' Mike asked, stunned.
Bailey shrugged casually. 'Yeah. She's in a nuthouse. Tried to commit suicide three times before I was six. ' She began to sing softly, her fingers dancing over her guitar strings. 'Sometimes I give myself the creeps, sometimes my mind plays tricks on me. It all keeps adding up, I think I'm cracking up, am I just paranoid? Or am I just stoned? '
'Fuck, Mike, she is a good singer. ' A male voice spoke from the doorway. Mike spluttered on his beer.
'Tre Cool, do you never fucking knock? '
Tre pulled a hurt face. 'Hello to you to, Mikey. I did knock, but you weren't listening. ' He came and sat next to Mike, folding his arms. 'Well introduce me then. ' Tre spoke in mock commanding tones. He leaned over to Nibs. 'Hi. Tre Cool. '
'Hi. Nibs. '
'Chalky. '
'PeeWee. '
Tre nodded hello to all the guys, before his eyes settled on Bailey. He swallowed a gasp, reminding himself she was only fifteen, a whole seventeen years younger than him. He couldn't help himself, she was gorgeous. Short, dark purple hair choppily layered around her chin and shoulders. Clear, pale skin, full red lips, and a sexily curved body. The plunging v- neck of her tight black top, showing off her amazing cleavage didn't exactly help Tre, either. He shook himself slightly, before leaning over to greet her.
'Tre Cool. '
'Bailey Jade Regis. ' Tre looked into her green hazel eyes.
'I've heard that name before. '
Bailey grinned. 'I doubt it. I'm a big Green Day fan, we all are, but our social workers wouldn't let us go to any of your concerts. '
Tre did a double take. 'Social workers? '
Bailey shook her head gently. 'Long story. ' She kicked off the speaker and turned to put away her guitar.
Mike stood up and stretched. 'Is Billie Joe coming? ' he asked his band mate. 'I want to introduce him to my little stars. '
'Uh, yeah. ' Tre tore his eyes from Bailey's leg, clearly visible through the tears in her tight jeans. 'He was just having a fight with some little old lady about a parking space. '
'And losing badly. ' Billie Joe Armstrong walked across the stage, and collapsed by his bandmates, facing Nibs, Chalky and PeeWee, but with his back to Bailey. He grabbed a beer from the cooler. 'So, where are the little stars? '
Mike pointed to the boys, and told Billie Joe their names. Bailey turned back around.
'And that's Bailey Jade Maria Regis. ' Mike finished far more solemnly than when he had introduced the boys. Billie Joe looked at him in shock, before turning back to a slightly bemused Bailey.
'Hi, Bailey. ' Billie Joe's voice cracked slightly as he took in the young girl. He opened his mouth to say something, when PeeWee swore loudly, looking at his watch.
'Oh hell's bells, Robbie is gonna freak if we don't get back soon. Mike we'll see you later. It was great meeting you, Billie Joe and Tre. '
'Bye. ' Chorused the rest of the group as they tore out of the hall. Mike and Billie Joe stared at each other. Mike spoke first.
'Her birthday is the 12th June, 1990. She's fifteen, her mother is a suicidal depressive in a mental institute, and she's never met her father. '
Billie Joe moaned something under his breath, too low to hear for sure, but it sounded like 'bee. ' Or 'Me. ' He buried his face in his hands.
Tre waggled his fingers around. 'Uh, helloo? Am I missing something here? '
Mike ignored him. He tugged Billie Joe's hands from hid head. Mike continued. 'She sings, and plays the guitar, piano, drums, keyboard, violin and harmonica. And she looks and nearly sounds and plays identical to you. '
Realisation dawned on Tre. 'Nooo, ' he moaned. 'You mean Bailey Jade is... '
'Yep. ' Billie Joe finished. 'Bailey Jade is my baby daughter. '
