My Life With Green Day, chapter 17
I sat down on the bed and laid down. 'Dear God,' I prayed silently, 'Let Billie be safe where ever he is and let me and Jared stay good friends without sexual interferences.' I rolled over and looked and Jared. He had his back to me. I crawled over to him to see his face. He was sound asleep.
"Jared," I whispered gently in his ear, "I leave back to Berkley tomorrow. You might not see me in the morning because I might be gone. I'll leave my cell phone number here with you." No movements from Jared. 'I hope he heard me,' I thought. 'Please Billie be okay.' I closed my eyes and went to sleep.
****Next morning****
I shot up and looked around. 'Where am I,' I thought as I rubbed my head. I checked a clock on the wall. 6:03. I laid back down and closed my eyes. I opened them again to find Jared staring back at me. I shrieked and then took a breath. 'That's right I'm in Jared's room,' I thought as I quietly stood up. He had no shirt on which made me think a little bit.
"I didn't mean to scare you," Jared said apologetically. I mumbled and waved bye. I stood at the door, not wanting to leave.
"Jared, will you please come back to my room with me? I'm scared to go by myself," I asked him as I recalled what happened last night. He looked at me strangely but got up and put on his shirt.
"Yeah okay," Jared said as he led me out of the room. I was hoping nobody would be in the room. "I'll stay right here in case you need me, okay," Jared asked as he looked at me. I nodded and stepped into the room. Nobody was in there. I slunk in and quickly grabbed my things and threw them into my suitcase. A loud flushing sound made me jump. Instead of running away, I waited to see who it was. The door flew open to revel Billie! My face flushed with redness again. I continued to pack my things, ignoring Billie.
"Billie baby," called a voice from the bathroom's direction. My head shot up from the dresser drawer I was going through. I turned around, fighting back tears. A tall, thin girl with long blonde hair came through the bathroom door. On her head was my hat. She looked just like me! She kissed Billie's cheek and twirled his hair. She stopped when she saw me. She screwed her nose up in disgust.
"Is that the bitch you dumped to get me," she asked as she pointed her finger at me. Billie said nothing but from look on his face I could tell she wasn't lying.
"Well this bitch has a name and it happens to be Courtney," I said as I looked in her direction. She was very preppy. I rolled my eyes in disgust.
"Oh well I'm Jess, but I don't let the little people call me that," Jess said as she looked at me with an angry look. I turned around and kept packing my stuff. I grabbed my bag and walked over to Ms. Jess. I plucked my hat off her head and turned to leave. I swung open the door and Maggie, Tre, Mike, and Brittany were all standing there, stuffed packed, and ready to leave. The sight of Tre made shiver. They gave me dirty looks and brushed past me.
"Oh my god hi," Jess cried when she saw Maggie and Brittany. The girls hugged each other and jumped up and down. Then they all noticed I was still there. "Your still here why," she asked me in a rude voice. I just flipped everyone off and left. Jared wasn't out in the hall anymore. I heard a click as the door behind me shut. I walked back to Jared's room and left a note on the door with my number. I pushed the down button on the elevator and stepped in. I grabbed a taxi and headed to the airport.
****At the Dayton airport****
I sat in the airport waiting for the plane. I heard laughter and when I turned to look I saw familiar faces. I stood up to move so I wouldn't start a huge fight. I was tired of fighting; I just wanted everything to be back to normal. I saw a blonde head bobbing around. Billie had brought Jess! I moved over so they wouldn't be near me. I could hear them talking about me but I held in the tears. The only voice I didn't hear was Billie's.
"Look Billie! Your fugly whore Courtney is here! Come here Courtney," Jess yelled really loud so that about half the airport stared in our direction. I got up and walked over to them. I smiled kindly at her. "Wow! I didn't think you were stupid enough to actually come over here," Jess said as she looked up at me. I walked right up to her and smacked her across the face. Everyone stared at us, expecting us to start fighting right there. I had a very proud look on my face. That's when I realized everyone else was asking Jess if she was ok. I rolled my eyes and walked back to my stuff, half expecting her to follow me. I sat down and waited until I heard that our plane was here. I stood up and watched as everyone else headed in the plane's direction. Billie stood up with Jess hanging all over him. She kissed him bye and handed him her number. She saw me looking and kissed him again. I turned and walked towards the plane.
"Courtney! Wait up," a voice called. A familiar voice.
"Jared," I called as I saw him come into view. I ran over to him and hugged him. "What are you doing here," I asked as I saw Billie narrow his eyes. 'My turn to piss him off,' I thought as I kissed Jared. Jared's hands ran down my body as my fingers ran through his hair.
"Well I got your note," Jared said as we pulled away, "and I wanted to say good-bye. That kiss was enough!" He smirked down at me. I hugged him one last time.
"Bye Jared," I said quietly as I walked towards the plane. I took one last look at him before disappearing into the plane. I had seat 21 and I sat right next to Billie Joe. I took the window seat so I would have a reason not to look at him. The plane started up and I just looked out the window. I stood up to go to the bathroom. I stepped over Billie's feet and into the isle. Then a foot jutted out and tripped me. I looked up from the ground to see Maggie and Brittany chuckling with each other. I rose to my feet and headed back down to the bathroom. I opened the door and shut it behind me. I stood near the counter and looked at my reflection. I looked sad and tired. Tears started to roll down my face. I sobbed in there quietly. 'Everyone hates me! When we get back to Berkley, I'm just going home. They don't want me there anymore. I'll leave them alone and they'll be happy,' I thought as I dried my eyes with some tissues. I threw them into the toilet and flushed it. 'I wonder if it really falls into the sky,' I thought sadly. I giggled, trying to make myself feel better. A quiet knock was heard on the door and I stopped sobbing.
"Can I come in Courtney," asked a voice. I opened the door and there stood... .
