"Hello is anyone here?" Asked Sandra talking to anothere voice I couldn't really hear.
"Andrea said she would be here. lets look around and see if shes here."
"alright lets look in the attic first." I was in shock no one knew about the attic but me...and Phillip. *OH SHIT!!!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS HE DOING HERE? OHMY FUCKIN' GOD!! HE CAN'T BE HERE WHAT IF HE CATCHES ME IN HERE WITH BILLIE JOE?HE'LL KILL HIM!* I looked over at Bilie Joe who was half sleeping so I still had a chance ofwaking him up before anyone caught us.
"Billie Joe wake up." I was talking into his ear to gethim to wake up faster.
"hmm. no i'm tired gimme five minutes.then I'll get up." He rolled over onto his stomach.
"Billie Joe WAKE UP! I was talking pretty loud but I knew they couldn't hear me up in the attic. They were gongto be there a while becuase There were so many hiding places up there that they would take at least 20 minutes up there.
"Billie Joe wake up dammit!" I couldn't wake him up he was just to lazy. Then I put my hand on the back of his neck to wake him up. My hands were pretty coldsince there was no heater on and I got cold easy. I had my hand onhis neck hoping two thing: 1. he would wakeup and 2. When he woke up he wouldn't yell. Buthe did pretty loud to.
"What the fuck was that for?!" He was yelling and I was nervous because I thought they might have heard it up staris.
"Would you shut the fuck up. That bitch is here and so is Phillip do you know what would happen if they catch us like this?" I said throwing him his clothes so he could put it on.
" I won't get to adopt you or I might end up in jail because of that attorney woman?' He said thinking that was the worst of it.
" That woman is the least of your problems." I said knowing what kind of person Phillip was.
"Oh what is your boyfriend gonna kick my ass?" He said in a mocking tone. As if to say he could take anyone on. But he hadn't sen Phillip when he got mad and I had. I didn't like that side of him he scared me whenever he got mad and it took a LOT to scare me.
" If he does kick your ass you will end up in either two places. I said flatly he was looking for his shoes while I was making the bed.
"where?" He asked still thinking I was joking around. But I wasn't and I knew he would end up in one of those two pretty quick.
"you will either end up in a hospital bed or dead." I said flaty He had finished getting dressed and I was done making the bed. He was in shock but he stll thought I saw joking.
"Are you serious?" He asked me in disbelief. I got so mad because I wasn't lying and he still wouldn't beleive me.
"Dead serious."
"Ha ha very funny." He said getting a little nervous about the whole thing we were plnning on how to make it look when they walked in. I said I would be crying and hew ouldbe trying to comfort me with an arm around my shoulder. Just then we head the door slam. They were coming down here the first room was mine so they would probaably go in there first then they would come into my mom's.
"Alright start crying." He said.
"It might take a while." I told him thinking about everyhting going on right now my eyes started to get teary then whenI heard Phillips voice say
"I''m really worried about Natalie. I Wouldn't be able to stand it if anything happened to her." When I heard him say that the tears just started rolling down my eyes I knew he loved me but I fucked it up and there was no getting it back. I was crying and Billie Joe was hugging me rocking me back and forth. I felt safe in his arms but they would never feel like Phillip's hugs I knew that and it made me cry even more. We didn't even notice when the door opened until we heard someone say.
"What is going on here?" Said Sandra. I looked upand saw Phillip through the tears falling out of my eyes. He was just looking at Billie Joe I thought if looks could kill Billie Joe would have been dead as soon as he had walked in.
"I was packing my clothes and before Ifinished I came into my moms room and when Bilie Joe heard me crying he came in here to tried and comfort me."
I explained. Billie Joe just nodded and kept on huggin me. Phillip sat down next to me and put his hand on my back. I broke free of Billi Joe's hug and hugged Phillip with all my strength. I knew Billie Joe got mad because he left outside and the woman followed him so they could talk.
"Natalie, Why did you leave before they buried your mom. My mom was looking all over for so she could give you something important." I told Phillip I could't stand being there and knowing he was there just made it worse for me so I had to leave. He just looked at me and nodded. We had layed down on the bed and he was only confused about one thing.
"Why did that that guy have to come?" He was still mad at Billie Joe because we had sex. Billie Joe and Phillip looked so much alike and when I used to tell Phillip he looked like him he would be flattered. Now he would proably go crazy if I said anything like that.
"He didn't want me to be alone and he wants to adopt me so he's trying to look like a good father figure in front of the Sandra person." Then I remembered I never told Phillip about that. He let go of me and stood up he was pacing around trying to make any sense of what I Had just said.
"Wait. you 2 have sex then he is going to adopt you? Whst kind of shit is that." He was talking quietly so that they wouldn't hear us. He was always so caring about me even when he was pissed off at me.
"look. I don't think its a good idea either but I would rather get adopted by him then by some stranger."
" My mom could adopt you shes..."
"No she can't she struggles with you alone now if you add me into the family it just won't work." He was thinking of people that could adopt me but no one was really eligable.
"How about one of your neighbors?'
"Now you know I can't stand even seeing one of those people now living with them is that very smart now?" He laughed. I was happy to hear his laugh It had been to long since I heard him laugh.
"NO. I guess not. But why him why not any other member?"
"Because Tre` is an asshole towards me and Mike looks scary." He was sad about it but he knew Billie Joe was the best choice.
"I just don't want to lose you for good." He had layed down next to me I layed my head on his chest.
"You could never lose me. we're like this." I crossed my fingers.
"Yeah we are." he kissed my forehead. We went to my room he helped me finish packing. When we finished we went to the living room but no one was there.
"Hmm we didn't even hear when they left." I told Pilllip
"yeah well that sucks becuase she was my ride. Looks like we're walking.
"Uh No Billie Joe bought me car we can drive home."
"Oh." He said Not very excited about that.
"alright lets go." I grabbed my suitcase but he took it for me
"Thanks."
"It's nothing."
We went to the jeep and we drove in silence I dropped him off at his house then went to Andies house. Billie Joe was outside waiting for me.
"What took you so long?"
"I had to finish packing. And no I didn't have sex with him bucause I know thats what your thinking." I told him annoyed that he would think I was a big slut who was ready to jump on anything with a dick.
"Alirht then. The court hearing is tomorrow at 2 so I'll pick you up at 1 ok?"
"yeah sure. I'll see you then."
"Are you ok? You look pale."
"No I'm fine I just need some rest so I think I'll go back to sleep." I said I was weaving a little but it was probably from all the excitement I thought.
"Alright I gotta go talk to Adrienne so I'll see you tommorow."
ok bye." With that being said I grabbed my suitcase and took it inside.
