Under Cover Agents, chapter 1
It was around 8am on a normal Sunday morning in Berkely California. Or else
It was supposed to be. The sun was just beginning to climb up the sky. The
Postman made his usual round dropping off parcels and letters. He dropped
Off a particular one at Green Day Bassist Mike Dirnts house. At around 10am Mike woke up. He looked at his girlfriend Kimberley and smiled before getting up.
Mike went downstairs to receive it. He yawned and walked into the kitchen
Carrying it and sat it on the table. He sifted through his mail.
"Bills, bills, advertisment, bills.. Hello whats this? : he looked at the envelope. No stamp or return address. He opened it and read it once, twice, three times. He suddenly rushed upstairs, threw on some clothes and ran outside to his car. He started the engine and drove to his bandmate, Billie Joe's house. Once he got to the Armstrong household he hammered on the door.
"Billie! Open up its Mike!" he cried
"What is it? Do you really need to hammer so loudly?" He said rather
Annoyed.
"Read This" Mike held up the letter.
"What is it?" He replied scanning it. He read it once, twice, three times
His eyes opened wide, "What the hell is this!? Someones idea of a prank?
Jeez"
"Listen, I don't think it is a prank. How many kids in my street would write
A letter for a prank? Water balloons are fun enough for them"
"It also says Tré's name on it. Should we tell him?"
"Sure!"
Billie Joe walked back inside and called Tré. Surprisingly, Tré sounded very
Much awake.
"Hello?"
"Hey Tré Its Billie. Umm listen I need you to come round to my house as soon
As you can ok?"
"Sure, but why?"
"Umm.. Something just came up ok? See you soon" And he hung up the phone.
10 Minutes later Tré pulled up in his car and jumped out. He jogged up the
Driveway towards Mike and Billie Joe. He was smiling widely.
"Guess what! I got a cool new toy from Mcdonalds! His name is bob!" He showed them a dog that you could wind up and watch him walk about.
"Umm. Great" Mike said.
"So, what is it?" He asked, looking at Mike and Billie Joe
"This" Mike gave him the letter, "Read it".
Tré looked down at the lined paper in his hand and scanned it. It said.
To Agent 9, 14 and 19
Your lives are in extreme danger. You
Must follow these instructions carefully otherwise you won't see tomorrow. I
Will explain the matters later. Tonight at 7pm go to the drive-thru on Palm
Street. Order 3 burgers and sit in the parking lot and wait there until a
Black car pulls up near you and the window is half down. I will meet you
Then. I shall discuss the matters later. Just follow this now otherwise you
Could be dead by midnight.
Agent X
(After you have read this through, destroy this letter)
"In... Danger?" Tré
"Yeah, I guess" Mike replied, " Should we do this?"
"Yeah, what if this person is telling the truth? We could die and if it is a
Prank, the worst thing that could happen is that we waste a few dollars on
Burgers" Billie replied smoothly.
"Right ok, take my car then" Mike said and looked at it, " This sure is
Weird... "

That night, Mike, Tré and Billie Joe all went to the drive-thru and ordered
3 burgers and waited in the car park. Ater 15 minutes of waiting, and after
Tré had eaten the 3 burgers they began to have doubts.
"I bet kids are hiding in the bushes laughing at us" Billie Joe grumbled
Putting his feet up on the dashboard, " I KNOW YOUR SECRET!" he yelled out the window," Hey, where is my burger?"
Tré put his hand behind his back, "Umm, dunno maybe it fell out the
Window... " Tré quickly turned his head away pretending to be interested in a bug on the pavement.
"Hmm, Lets get going then" Mike started up the car and looked behind him to
Reverse out when he say a black call with a window half down appear and pull
Up beside him.
"Oooo" Tré watched in awe, "Its true!"
The car stopped and the door opened. A middle aged man stepped out in
Ordinary clothes.
"Some clothes for an agent!" mocked Tré.
The man walked over to the car and checked behind him before saying, "16
Park Lane" He walked back to the car and drove off.
"Huh?" Billie Joe said looking confused.
"I guess we should head there" and he started up the engine. After spending
20 minutes searching for 16 Park Lane they finally found it and drove up the
Driveway. Suddenly gates closed behind them and they drove up further. After
Driving for a while they reached the house and two security men guided their
Car into a garage. The men then escorted Tré, Billie Joe and Mike into the
House. When they entered they thought it was going to be like a proper
House. They couldn't of been more wrong. There was a steel floor and ceiling
And grey walls. They walked past another guard and into an elevator which
Took them down instead of up.
The doors opened and they were marched down another hall similar to the one
Above. After turning a few corners they arrived at a steel door. One of the
Security men rapped hard on it and the door opened. The two security men
Walked away and Tré, Mike and Billie Joe entered the room. It was well lit
And a cream theme. The middle aged man greeted them.
"Welcome agents 9, 14 and 19.
"Huh?" Mike said.
The middle aged man laughed.
" Billie, agent 14, Mike agent 9, and Tré agent 19"
"I'm an agent? Cool!" exclaimed Tré.
"It has came as a shock I know, but you see, we had to tell you. You were
Born agents but were not to know until 27. But as you can see you have not
Been informed and I am deeply sorry. But now we had to as something has came
Up" the middle aged man directed them to a seating area.
"Adrienne was kidnapped two nights ago"
"WHAT?" Billie Joe stood up, "How? WHERE WHY?"
"What? She was kidnapped, How? Two men supposedly took her from her
Bed. Where? We have yet to find that out and why? To hold her for ransom
But wanted to kill you three as they found out you were agents" The man took
A breath and sat down, "I am agent X and I shall help you get her back".
"But, but she is at a friends, she left a note..." Billie exclaimed.
"The note, she was forced to write it" Agent X looked troubled, "We have
Yet to find out where her--"
"Sir, we have found it!" A woman who looked in her late twenties came
Striding into the room holding a couple of papers.
"Great! Where is she agent 20" Agent X said jumping up.
"We believe she is at Bradly Beach, the cave where she is held can only be accessed at low tide" she tossed her strawberry blonde hair out of her face. She looked up at Green Day and caught Tré's eyes for a second before she looked back at the papers.
"So when should we go?" Agent X asked. "When is high tide?"
"It is high tide sir, we should leave at dawn"
"Good good"
"I shall go get the equipment ready", Agent 20 strode of the room, Tré watching her.
"Right.. This is our plan.." Agent X began.
