Don't Leave Me, chapter 14
Two weeks later...
*Natalie's POV*
It was the morning of Christmas Eve. I had just woken up and was walking into the kitchen. Billie Joe was already there, standing over the stove.
"Good Morning," I said groggily and yawned. Billie Joe turned his head and smiled at me.
"I'm making eggs. Do you want any?" He asked. I thought about it and then felt the overwhelming urge to throw up. I ran into the bathroom and stuck my face in the toilet. A few seconds later I heard Billie Joe knocking on the door.
"Are you sick? Or is my cooking really that bad?" I could almost hear him pouting. I laughed softly. After flushing the toilet, I brushed my teeth and opened the door.
"I think I'm just sick," I lied. I had been throwing up like that for a few days. I had gotten suspicious so I bought a pregnancy test yesturday and it came out positive. So, yes. I was definetly pregnant. But I wanted to wait until Christmas Day to tell Billie. Which would be tomorow.
"Do you want me to make you anything?" He asked. I shook my head.
"No thanks, hun"
"You should get some rest," He said pulling me towards the living room. I shrugged and then nodded. The first thing I saw when I stepped into the living room was our big Christmas tree. It was lit up and had colorful ornaments hanging from branches. I sat down on the couch. Billie Joe started fluffing all of the pillows and putting blankets on me.
"Do you want anything? I can get you whatever you need," He said. I laughed.
"Billie, I'm fine. I don't need anything else. Thank you though."
"Sorry, I just don't want you to be sick tomorow. It's Christmas," He said and kissed my cheek.
"I don't feel that sick. I'm actually really happy, I'm not sure why." I knew excactly why I was so happy.
"Well, then that's good," He said and got up to leave. I grabbed his arm and pulled him back down onto the couch.
"Stay with me...Don't leave," I said and snuggled closer into him. He smiled.
"I wont."
***
I woke up in the same place on the couch. Billie Joe was no longer next to me. I got up and looked at the clock. It was 5 PM.
"Holy crap. I slept all day," I said to myself and went into the kitchen. I could faintly hear the soft plucking of a guitar coming from the basement. Immediatly, I knew it was Billie Joe. So I quietly opened the door leading down the stairs, and went down. I saw Billie Joe sitting on the couch with his guitar on his lap and a notebook on the coffee table infront of him. He was working on a song. I just watched him silently for a few minutes before he looked up and saw me.
"Oh, you're finally up," He said and quickly closed the notebook. He took the guitar off his lap and placed it in one of the empty stands.
"Yeah. I guess I was tired," I shrugged and sat next to him. I looked around the room at all the guitars lined along the wall and hanging from stands on the walls. Once again, I had to run upstairs to the bathroom. After throwing up a few more times, I brushed my teeth and opened the door.
"I hate throwing up," I said blankly to Billie who was standing there.
"I don't know anyone who does like it," He said and smiled.
"I know that it's Christmas Eve, but I'm still tired so I'm gunna go to bed now," I said.
"That's probably a good idea. I'll be up a little later," He said.
"Ok. Good night," I said and kissed him on the cheek.
"Night"
When I got to our bedroom, I quickly changed into my PJs and fell asleep.
***
I woke up that morning with Jimmy licking my face. I smiled.
"Merry Christmas Jim," I said and ruffled the fur on his head. I looked over at Billie Joe who groaned and turned over on his other side. I got out of the bed and put my slippers on my feet. Jimmy followed me downstairs. I fed him and made some coffee. That day, we were going to Billie's mom's house and then later in the evening we were going to Mike's. I was sitting at the kitchen table when Billie Joe walked into the room.
"Merry Christmas baby," I hugged him.
"Merry Christmas," He replied.
"Are you feeling better?" He asked. I nodded and took another sip of my coffee.
"Good" He smiled. I left the room for a minute and got his present. I walked over to Billie and handed him the guitar. It was a black Les Paul with a red star on it. I had it custome made just for him.
"For you," I kissed him and sat back down. His eyes looked like they were going to buldge out of his head. I was glad he liked it.
"Oh my fucking god. This is...amazing! Thank you so much. I love it," He gushed running his fingers over the surface.
"Your welcome," I said with a huge smile on my face.
"Oh, I got you something also," He set the guitar down gently and left. I sat patiently and waited for him. When he returned, he was holding a small box. He handed it to me and kissed the top of my head. I opened the box. I nearly screamed when I saw what was in it. Car keys with "BMW" written in silver on them. Billie Joe took my hand and lead me to the door leading into the garage. He stepped aside to let me in. There, sitting in the middle of the cold room, was a Mini Cooper with a huge white bow stuck to the top of it. It was black and had a red stripe running down the middle of it.
"You didn't" I said unbelievingly.
"I did"
"Thank you so much," I said and jumped into his arms.
"I'v always wanted a Mini!" I exclaimed. Billie Joe smiled. After fooling around with the car for a little bit, we went back into the living room. It was 10 AM.
"Billie Joe, I have to tell you something," I said.
"What is it?" He asked curiously. I took a deep breath.
"I'm pregnant," I said and grinned. Billie Joe jumped up.
"Are you serious?! That's great!" He picked me up and spun me around. When he set me back on the ground, he hugged and kissed me.
"When did you find out?" He asked.
"I started thinking that I might be last week. Then yesturday I bought a pregnancy test and it came out positive," I answered.
"So that's what all the throwing up is about"
"Yes," I nodded. Billie Joe cupped my face in his hands and kissed me again.
"I'm so happy," He said guietly.
"Me too."
We talked about the baby for a little while when Billie Joe said, "We, uh, have to get ready. We are supposed to be at my mom's at 11:30."
"Ok" I nodded.
We both walked upstairs and started to get ready.
"Wanna take your car or mine?" Billie Joe asked me while I smoothed out the black dress I was wearing.
"Mine," I said and smirked.
"And I'm driving," I added. He smiled. I turned to him.
"Ok, I'm ready," I said.
"You look great. As always," He said and kissed my cheek. I smiled.
"Thank you. You look very handsome yourself" I went dwonstairs and into the kitchen. Billie Joe followed.
I picked up my new car keys on the counter and made my way into the garage. I turned around and saw Billie Joe carrying two bottles of alcohal. One was tequila and the other looked like regular red wine.
"What's with all the booze?" I said and slid into the drivers side of the car.
"My mom likes this," He said holding up the red wine, "so I'm bringing it for her. And this is for Mike's house" He held up the other bottle.
"Oh yeah...You can't have any of this! Haha!"
"Shut up," I said and playfully stuck my tongue out at him. I turned on the car and backed out of the garage. I hadn't met any of Billie Joe's siblings, except for Allen who watched Jimmy while we were gone, or Ollie, his mother. What if she didn't like me for some reason? 'Oh, god. I sound like I'm back in high school!' I thougth to myself.
I was a little nervous. With one hand on the wheel and my other hand up to my mouth, biting my finger nails, Billie Joe noticed.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"What? oh, nothing," I tried to sound convincing. He raised his eyebrows.
"I know you. And I know that you're nervous about something," He said.
"I'm ok," I said and gave him a weak smile. He didn't buy it.
"If you're nervous about meeting my family, don't be. They will all love you," He said and gave me a reasuring smile.
"Allen already told me that he thinks you're great," He added. That made me feel a little bit better. I lowered my hand. Now, both were resting on the steering wheel.
"Thank you," I said quietly.
