Don't Leave Me, chapter 17

It had been only a half an hour since the guys arrived and Mike was already threatening to leave the hospital because Tre was bugging the hell out of him.

"Mike."

"Mike."

"What, Tre?!"

"I don't know," He looked at Mike blankly.

"Mike."

"Mike."

"Mike."

"Shut the fuck up!" Mike yelled.

"Both of you, please, please just be quiet," Maggie said massaging her forehead. She looked at her watch. It was 3:15 PM. Maggie looked back up and saw a nurse walking towards the three of them.

"Hi," She smiled at them, "Are you all here for Natalie?"

"Yes," Maggie said, her ears perking up.

"Both Natalie and Billie Joe told me to tell you that you guys can go home. Natalie is in only the early stages of labor. She won't be having the babies for quiet a while. They didn't want you to wait here," She said. Maggie and Mike nodded. Tre was doing something else. God knows what.

"Ok. Thank you," Mike said as they all stood up to leave. The trio walked down the hallway to the elevators.

"Who's car did you guys come in?" Maggie asked as Tre pushed a random button.

"Tre, what are you doing?" Mike asked, trying to press the button for the floor that they were supposed to be going to. But it didn't seem to be working. Then, Tre ran his hand over all of the buttons on the wall.

"Stop--," Maggie started but she was cut off by all the lights going out and a soft beeping come from somewhere inside the elevator.

"Good job, Tre! Now, we're stuck in this fucking thing!" Mike yelled angrily. Tre just shrugged and sat down.

"Oh my God. This isn't good," Maggie mumbled, pacing nervously.

"Don't worry, someone is gunna find us," Mike assured, pulling her into his arms.

"I hope so," Maggie said softly. Her voice muffled because of Mike's chest. Then, Tre started singing "Love In An Elevator" by Aerosmith.

"Love in an elevator, livin' it up when I'm goin' down! Love in an elevator, Lovin' it up till I hit the g--"

"Shut up!" Mike and Maggie yelled at the same time, cutting him off.

"Just trying to lighten the mood," Tre mumbled to himself.

20 minutes had gone by when they heard a phone ringing. All three of them looked around the small room. And, there on the wall, was a phone for emergencies.

"There's a phone in here?!" Tre asked and picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Don't worry, dude. We'll get you out in a few," A voice said. Tre heard a click on the other end and then dial tone. He hung it back up.

"Who calls an elevator?" Mike asked.

"I think it was some guy trying to get us out of here," Tre said as he slid down the wall.

"What did he say?" Maggie pressed.

"He said that we'll be out of here in a few minutes."

"Thank God!" Maggie said and flung her arms in the air.

Sure enough, a few minutes later, the doors were pried open. They were lucky that they hadn't moven from the spot where they were when they stepped into the elevator. So they were right infront of the opening.

"Thanks guys," Maggie said to all the dudes standing there who had, in her mind, saved them.

"Hey, beautiful," One guy said to her and tried to kiss her hand. Mike stopped him.

"Come on, babe," Mike put his arm around her waist. He and the other guy exchanged nasty looks. Maggie felt flattered that she was being fought over...well kinda.

"You still haven't told me what car you guys came in," Maggie said on their way out the door.

"We all took our own cars because we knew that we wouldn't be leaving at the same time," Mike answered. Maggie nodded. Mike walked to the driver's side door and Maggie went to the passanger's side. They said good bye to Tre, who was getting into his car, and they drove home.
