Please Don't Wake Me Up When I'm Dreaming, chapter 12
*Tré's POV*
"Anytime, Ray. Anytime." I said quietly, even though I knew she was asleep by now. I could already hear her steady breathing. Damn, she could sleep. I wonder what Mike's gonna say tomorrow. Man, I should have never done that. I hope she's not mad at me, that would really suck. Even if we can't be together, I still wanna be friends. I really doubt we'd be able to be together, anyway. Not until she's eighteen at least. But that's four years away. I'm just giving myself a headache, now. I'll talk to her tomorrow, I guess before we go to the arena. I laid back down to finally get some sleep, assuming Rayne wouldn't have another dream and start sleep talking.
*My POV*
I woke up to the sound of 'Longview' playing on my cell.
"Who the fuck calls this early..." I asked no one in particular as I put the phone to my ear.
"Hello? Whoever this is better have a good reason for ca-"
"It's Vin. Is Araxie up? I really need to talk to her."
"What the fuck?! You just broke her heart and now you're calling me to ask if you can talk to her? Are you out of you fucking mind?!"
"Ray? Who's that?" Tré asked, sleepily. Great, I woke him up... again.
"No one, go back to sleep." I answered him as calmly as I could.
"Kinda hard to sleep when you're yelling like that, you know?"
"Sorry." I said, getting back to yelling at Vincent.
"Now, as I was saying. What the fuck give you the right to call me after you just broke my best friend's heart and ask me to let you talk to her?"
"Because, the last time we talked, she didn't let me explain. She hung up after she heard me say 'Laurie'."
"Wonder why!"
"Listen, I didn't mean to 'cause any trouble, damn it! Can't I just talk to her?"
"Rayne? Who're you talking to?" Great, now she was up.
"That ass hole you used to go out with." She just stared at me for a second, trying to figure out wether I was serious or not, I guess. She snatched the phone from me and ran into the small kitchen that was provided with the room.
"Vinny? Is that you?"
"Yeah, I'm so so sorry. You hung up before I could explain anything."
"I know. I just heard Laurie's name and I guess I just got scared. I love you so much; I don't wanna lose you."
"I know, I love you too. That's why I didn't go back to Laurie."
"What?"
"Well, that's what I was trying to tell you. You know, before you hung up."
"Oh..."
"Yeah. She came over here and was trying to get me to break up with you. I told her I loved you, now and that me and her could be friends but nothing more. She got mad and ran out. That's when you called."
"Oh, my God. I'm so sorry. I was just scared that I was going to lose you."
"I know. You don't have to worry about that, though. Trust me; nothing will ever tear us apart."
"C'mon, now. You're gonna make me cry."
"You're too beautiful to cry."
"Yeah, now I'm crying, thanks."
"Well, they're happy tears, right?"
"Mm hm. I love you so much. Don't ever leave me."
"I won't, baby. I wont. Don't even think like that."
"Damnit. Ray is calling me. She said I'm waiting her minutes. She can be such a brat. I guess I have to go."
"That sucks. Call me when you can, don't matter what time. I love you and I'll miss you, bye, baby."
"Love you, too. Bye." She hung up and finally gave my phone back.
"Araxie? What the fuck was that about?!"
"Vincent." She answered, obviously not paying attention. She was off in her own little world, daydreaming about Vincent, probably.
"Are Mike and Billie up yet?" I asked Tré, who was sitting on the couch, half asleep.
"No, don't think so. It's only 6:47AM. I'm not even up yet."
"I can change that!" I yelled as I playfully threw a pillow at him.
"Hey! What the fuck was that for?!"
"Nothing. He did it." I said, pointing to Tré.
"Oh yeah? Well, take that!" Tré yelled, hitting himself in the head with the pillow."You bastard! How dare you hit me!" POW! Tré continued beating himself up as Araxie and I collapsed on the floor, laughing so much we were crying.
