Please Don't Wake Me Up When I'm Dreaming, chapter 15
My cell phone rang, interupting my thoughts. I checked the CID; Ryder. Gee, great timing, Ry.
"Hey."
"Hey, what's up?"
"Nothing. Is there a reason you called?"
"No. Well, yes. My mom's gone for a month and I have the house to myself. I was just wondering if there was any way you could get out of going on this tour and come back."
"No. I can't. That really sucks, though. Oh, I need to talk to you about something."
"Yeah?"
"Well, you know how much I like Tré, right?"
"What the fuck did you do?!"
"He-"
"Tell me the truth, God damnit!"
"We kissed." I said, quietly.
"What the fuck?! Why? Weren't we just arguing about this when you were on the plane?! What did you say to me? 'He's not like that.'?! That's fucking bullshit! I bet you fucked him, too. Didn't you?!"
"No! For fucks sake, Ryder, just because that skank you used to go out with slept with everyone doesn't mean I do, too! And I said it once, I'll say it again. Tré isn't like that. He ain't gonna go fuck random girls off the street!"
"You're not a random girl off the street, though. I love you; how the hell can you just do that to me?" This is exactly what happened in my dream, but wasn't it the other way around?
"It was only a kiss! It doesn't mean I'm gonna fucking marry him!"
"How am I gonna trust you around him for another five moths, now?"
"Listen, I didn't mean to hurt you. I just didn't want to lie to you. That should count for something. I care about you enough to tell you instead of keeping it from you. Because if I wanted to, I could have kept it to myself and nobody would have found out."
"Yeah, whatever. I'm gonna go, then. Maybe I'll call later. Bye." I started to say goodbye but he hung up. Maybe I shouldn't have told him. Maybe it wasn't just a kiss. I don't know, maybe I do like him. But, what if I did? What would that mean. I mean, he surely couldn't like me THAT much. He's so... well, maybe he would. But, that would I would have to break up with Ry. Oh, God, no. I couldn't do that. I mean, we did practically just break up a few minutes ago, but we're still together.
"Hey, what do you want for dinner? I think we're just gonna order pizza. Mike left us $30."
"Sounds fine."
"So, what's up with you and lover-boy?!"
"Huh? Who?"
"Shane, who the fuck do you think?! Tré, you asshole!"
"Oh, nothing."
"Well it sure looked like something when you two were in the park!" I didn't say anything. I just kept remembering everything that happned. I forgot about Ryder for the time-being and just smiled, remembering the kiss. "What about Ryder? I heard you yelling at him a few minutes ago." My smile quickly faded at the sound of his name.
"Well, we... uhm-"
"You're breaking up with him aren't you?"
"No... well, yes..."
"Tré?"
"Sure..."
"You're hopeless."
"Gee, thanks."
"Welcome."
"I need help."
"Ya think?"
"I wish."
"So do I."
"So, what do you think?"
"About what?"
"'Bout me and Tré."
"Oh, I dont' know. I think it's tupid. I mean, you have- excuse me- HAD Ryder. Now, you've dumped him and you think you're going to be with Tré. You're so fucked up in the head, I swear."
"I know. I know me and Tré aren't going to be together. At least I don't think so. And I didn't exactly dump Ry, we're just not talking for a while. Not that it makes difference, he doesn't talk to me anyway."
"True."
"I just don't know what to do. I mean, this thing with me and Tré confuses the hell out of me. Now, Ryder's all pissed off at me and if he ever met Tré, he'd kill him." I had been standing this whole time and decided to sit on the couch. I rested me elbows on my knees and burried my face in my hands. "What the fuck is wrong with me?" I mumbled.
"I don't know. Personally, I think you're just fucked up in the head and there's nothing anyone could do about it, but that's just me." Araxie said, grinning.
"You're so much help."
"Well, if it helps, you are slightly smarter than all the other donkeys." She said, now laughing.
"I'M NOT A FUCKING DONKEY, YOU BITCH!"
"YES YOU ARE!"
"NUH UH!"
"YAH HUH!"
"Go away."
"No!"
"Well, leave me alone then!"
"No, why don't you go away if you wanna be alone so badly?!"
"Shut the fuck up! I ain't goin' nowhere. I was here first!"
"Gah, go lock yourself in one of the rooms and go masturbate or something. I'm going to get the pizza."
"Fuck off!"
"Bye." She yelled as she hurried out the door. If she hadn't left to get the pizza, we would have stood there and argued until the guys came home and decided to kill one of us.
"Hey."
