F.O.D., chapter 3
Billie Joe had been trying to get some sleep in the back of their van for about an hour. But Tre wouldn't stop singing.
"Tre, would you just shut the fuck up with that fucking singing. It's awful, and I need some sleep!"
"Sorry Billie, I'm just trying to compensate for the definite lack of singing during our gig back there, asshole!" He said, insulting his friend in a high pitched sing song voice.
"Shutup Tre, or i'll come up there!"
"Wooooooooo I'm sooo scared right now."
"Just SHUT UP!"
Mike piped in: 'How bout both of you shut the fuck up and go to sleep, and have some consideration for me, I'm trying to drive here!"
"Fine. Mother Mike has spoken." Billie said, leaning back.
"Goodnight Billie, dear." Tre said in that stupid sing song voice again. He ALWAYS had to have the final word.
Billie just sighed and went back to thinking about whom he had been thinking about all night.
Becky
Even if she didn't call him, he had a back up plan.
In the club, he'd run into the hysterical Kathryn, and asked her to come to their gig the following night, bringing Becky off course. That way he would have a better chance of melting the ice maiden.
She intigued him. He couldn't wait to see her again.
Why was she so upset, and defensive? He wanted to find out, and to help her if he could.
If she would let him.

Becky woke up and groaned at the bright sunlight pouring into her room between the dark curtains, hurting her eyes.
"Maybe the whiskey hadn't been the best idea, ' she thought, drawing the curtains closed, and falling back onto the bed.
For the first time in a while, Becky felt like getting up and doing something with the day. She stood up, flattened her hair, and reached for her phone, to call Kathryn.
"Hey. Lets go out and do something."
"Aaaarrrgghhhh, my head hurts. You sound better. Um, yeah alright. Walk over in about 10 minutes ok?" Kathryn said, and hung up the phone.
Becky quickly got dressed, grabbed her bag, and hurried downstairs for breakfast. Her mum was in the kitchen, making breakfast for her brothers.
"Hey, long time no see."
"Hi." She said, serving herself some cereal.
"What you been up to?"
"Um, nothing much. Ben and I split up." Becky replied gingerly, even saying it hurt.
"Oh, that's too bad." Her mother said, uncaring, turning her back to flip the pancakes.
"Yeah, it is." Becky replied, "But what can you do?"
"You can get out of this suburban nightmare, for one." She thought to herself.
She stood, put her plate in the sink, and said good bye to her mother as she walked out the door.
As Becky quickly approached Kathryn's big house on foot, she heard raised voices from inside. She walked up to the front door, and listened, worried about her friend.
"WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU GOING?" Bellowed a male voice.
"Um, out, with a friend." She heard Kathryn almost whisper.
"BULLSHIT YOU ARE, YOUR GOING OUT WITH SOME GUY, YOU FUCKING SLUT! YOU NEVER STAY TO HELP AROUND HERE!
"Oh, c'mon, I've been good lately. Please?"
"I SAID NO!"
Becky was frightened for Kathryn, so she rang the doorbell. A young man with a round, slightly flustered face opened the door.
"Are you here for Kathryn?"
Becky, slightly afraid, answered: "Yes, we're going out if thats alright."
"Kathryn, your friends here!" He called into the house." You can go! Hurry UP!"
Kathryn emerged from the living room, half running towards them, her face bright red, from embarrasment, and fear.
"Thankyou. I'll be back tonight. See you." She said, grabbing my arm. Her grip was tight.
The man closed the door. Kathryn led Becky to her car.
"What was that about?"
"Don't worry about it. It's just my brother. He worries, that's all."
"I worry, if you've got that kind of shit going on at home. You can stay over at mine tonight, ok?"
"Alright, thank you." She said, not looking at Becky, but her gratitude obvious.
"Where do you wanna go?"
"A movie? Yeah, lets go see whats on."
"Alright, good idea." Kathryn replied starting the car.
"By the way, we're gonna go see Green Day again early tonight, ok?"
"But-'
"No buts, if's or maybe's. I promised that Billie guy we we're going. So, we are."
"Fine." Becky really didn't know what she was going to do about Billie Joe. He was a nice guy, but she wasn't ready to open herself up to him.
To anyone.
She didn't know whether she ever would be.

After they had sat through one of the most senselessly violent movies of all time, Becky and Kathryn went to get some lunch at the food court. As they were approaching there seats, Kathryn saw something in front of her that made her drop her tray of food.
She swivelled around, looked in Becky's eyes and said:
"C'mon, lets go!"
"What? Why?" Becky said, pushing past her friend to see what had upset her so much. And she saw it alright, and it made her stomach turn, her head spin and her heart ache all over again.
There sat Ben, Danielle on his lap, with her tongue down his throat. In the middle of the food court.
Becky stood there, stunned, and somehow managed to yell
"PIG!"
Ben looked up, a strange expression on his face, while Danielle smiled, and waved.
"Hi Becky. How are you? You look kind of pasty... Or is that deliberate?"
Becky couldn't take it.
She ran past Kathryn out of the mall, towards their car.
Kathryn on the other hand, turned and said to Ben:
"I hope your very happy together, assholes!"
She turned away, leaving a stunned Ben alone with his slut.
Kathryn ran to the carpark, to her distraught friend.
"C'mon. I'll take you home." Kathryn said, steering her friend, whom she had found collapsed on the concrete next to her car, into the passenger seat.
Becky merely nodded through her tears.
Kathryn got her home, and put her to bed.
She went into Becky's handbag, looking for her keys that Becky had offered to mind for her. She found a scrunched piece of paper, with Billie Joe Armstrongs number on it.
She decided to call him, to let him know they couldn't make it tonight. She realised by the note on the paper that he must really care about her friend.
She thought for a few minutes.
Kathryn had a plan.
She dialled the number.
"Hi, Billie Joe? Its Kathryn, from the other night? Yep, Becky's friend. Um, I was just calling too let you know that we can't make it tonight. But, I was wondering if you would be interested in coming to a small get together I was planning on having. Becky will be there." She paused, waiting for a reply." Great. I'll call you back with the details. Thanks, bye."
Now all that was left was to convince Becky.
"Tre, would you just shut the fuck up with that fucking singing. It's awful, and I need some sleep!"
